Tannington

Worlingworth is a village and civil parish in the Mid Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England, located around ten miles south-east of Diss. In 2011 it had a total population of 802 people.The village has a primary school called Worlingworth CEVC Primary School. The school was judged by Ofsted to be 'Outstanding' in all areas in March 2016. The school's motto is "Cherish All, Achieve Together". The local church of St. Mary is a grade I listed building and the chancel, the oldest surviving part, dates to the late 13th century.Between 1908 and 1952 the village was served by Worlingworth railway station on the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway.

Hartismere Rural District was a rural district in the county of East Suffolk, England. It was expanded in 1934 by merging with the disbanded Hoxne Rural District with a slight readjustment of boundaries. It was named after the ancient Hundred of Hartismere and administered from Eye. Since 1 April 1974 it has formed part of the District of Mid Suffolk. At the time of its dissolution it consisted of 52 civil parishes.

Saxtead gives its name to the settlements of Saxtead Green and Saxtead Little Green and the windmill Saxtead Green Windmill. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 Census was 335. Saxtead is located on the A1120 road in between the town of Stowmarket and the village of Yoxford. The place-name 'Saxtead' is first attested in the Domesday Book of 1086, where it appears as Saxsteda. The name is thought to mean 'Seaxa's place'.

Hoxne Rural District was a rural district within the administrative county of East Suffolk between 1894 and 1934. It was created out of the earlier Hoxne rural sanitary district. It was named after the historic hundred of Hoxne, whose boundaries it closely matched. The hundred, in turn, took its name from the village of Hoxne. In 1934, under a County Review Order, Hoxne Rural District was abolished and its parishes transferred to Hartismere Rural District, and in 1974 to Mid Suffolk district. 3 parishes went into the new Blyth Rural District.

The village is 3.6 miles (6 km) south-east of Stradbroke and 1.75 miles (3 km) north of Dennington in the Mid Suffolk district. The B1118 road runs through the village, which had a population at the 2001 census of 192, including Tannington, increasing to 287 at the 2011 Census.The village church is dedicated to St Lawrence. Worlingworth railway station was a station located in Worlingworth, Suffolk. It was on the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway between Kenton and Horham. It opened on 29 September 1908, and closed on 28 July 1952, 44 years after it had opened for passenger traffic.

Earl Soham is a small settlement in Suffolk, England. It is on the A1120 road and is 4 kilometres (2 mi) west of the town of Framlingham. Earl Soham once belonged to the Earls of Norfolk, the Bigod family (sometimes spelt "Bigot" in old texts), who also owned nearby Framlingham Castle. Edward I granted Roger Bigod permission to hold a market and a lamb and stock fair in the village. The parish was in the hundred of Loes well before 1086. The church dates from about 1320 (chancel) with the nave dated to about 1470 (Kelly's Suffolk Directory 1900) and a perpendicular west tower c. 1475. The Baptist Chapel was built around 1863. The school was first built in 1850. Earl Soham Lodge was originally a hunting lodge, built in the 13th century but rebuilt in 1789. For many years it was the seat of the Cornwallis family. The population of the village peaked in the 19th century with over 750 inhabitants. Sir Auckland Colvin, colonial administrator in India and Egypt, is buried in the village churchyard.
