110 Grant Apartments is a 303-ft (101 m) tall skyscraper in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was constructed from 1983–1985 and has 34 floors. It is the 28th tallest building in Minneapolis.

Loring Greenway is a 1,500-foot linear pedestrian greenway in downtown Minneapolis that connects Nicollet Mall with Loring Park. It was designed by landscape architect M. Paul Friedberg, who also designed Peavey Plaza near the Nicollet Mall end of the greenway. Opened in 1979, it was part of the Loring Park Development District that razed older properties, created the adjacent Hyatt hotel and built new surrounding multi-family apartment and townhouse buildings in the Loring Park neighborhood. Now approximately 2,500 housing units flank the greenway spine. Originally retail businesses were planned to line the greenway, but private development focused on residential, and the small commercial spaces never materialized. The greenway is noted on a historic marker in a series along the north side of West Grant Street between LaSalle and Nicollet.Larry Millett called the greenway "the most notable public amenity" in the Loring Park Development District. In the book Intown Living: A Different American Dream, authors Ann Breen and Dick Rigby highlighted the contrast of the lush greenway and its quiet with the "hard-edged" and relatively treeless Nicollet Mall.The Modernist style greenway includes two fountains, one at the Nicollet Mall entrance and one halfway along the greenway. The public space also includes seating areas and a playground and is lighted at night with custom distinctive lights. Part of the greenway includes a land bridge over Lasalle Avenue. The greenway connects Nicollet Mall with Loring Park and ends at the site of the Berger dandelion fountain in the park, which was envisioned as the terminus of the greenway. Two extensions from the greenway connect to Spruce Place and 13th Street. The Nicollet Mall entrance to the greenway hosts George Morrison's "Tableau," a granite pavement mosaic, part of the public art on Nicollet Mall. This work was moved to the location by the greenway after being in two other locations on Nicollet Mall; the greenway entrance was thought to be lesser impact on the art work. Friedberg intended for the greenway to be like a procession and wished for it to be a community of people living along it. In an interview with Charles Birnbaum in 2006, Friedberg described it as "We're in this together. This is how you get to the park. That's the event. This is the procession to the event. There are minor events, and make use of it. That's what we want you to do. You're part of a city."The greenway has high pedestrian counts according to regular counts done by the city. In 2018, the mall end of the greenway had 2,850 estimated daily pedestrians and 410 bicyclists.

Loring Park is the largest park in the Central Community of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Located on the southwest corner of downtown Minneapolis, it also lends its name to the surrounding neighborhood.

Anime Detour is an annual three-day anime convention held during March/April at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The convention run by the non-profit organization Anime Twin Cities.

The Eugene J. Carpenter House is a Georgian Revival-style house located in Loring Hills, the mansion district in turn-of-the-century Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States.The house was built in 1887 by C.M Douglas, who owned a coal delivery business. 300 Clifton was built in the Queen Anne style, with prominent porches and a turret in the southeast. Harvey Brown, a successful businessman and banker bought the house in 1890 and lived there until his death in 1904.The house was purchased in 1905 by Eugene and Merrette Carpenter and was owned by the family until 1948. This constitutes the historically significant time period. Eugene Carpenter and Merrette Lamb came from lumber milling families and were owners of the Carpenter-Lamb Lumber Co. of Minneapolis. The Carpenters were also significant patrons of the arts and Eugene Carpenter played a pivotal role in establishing the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.

The H. Alden Smith House is a former mansion located within the Harmon Place Historic District near downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. Designed in the Richardsonian Romanesque style by architect William Channing Whitney, it was completed in 1887 and listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The house is the sole remnant of the Harmon Place mansion district, an elite residential neighborhood that existed between the 1880s and 1920s.

The Elbert L. Carpenter House is a historic house in the Loring Park neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. It was designed by notable local architect William Channing Whitney in the Colonial Revival style. The house is significant not only for its architecture, but also for its resident, a businessman in the lumber industry. Elbert Carpenter (1862–1945) helped to organize the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, now known as the Minnesota Orchestra. The Minneapolis Labor Review noted, "it was to him that everyone looked when stringent times in the world of work, trade and finance brought stringent times to the world of music. He never failed to respond with both financial support and ingenious plans for getting the Symphony through the storm of every depression."The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. It was listed for its local significance in industry and music for Carpenter's achievements, and in architecture for its Georgian Revival design by William Channing Whitney.

The George R. Newell House, also known as Chateau LaSalle, is a historic house in the Stevens Square-Loring Heights neighborhood of Minneapolis. It was originally built for Sumner T. McKnight, a businessman who had interests in lumber and real estate. McKnight sold it almost immediately to George R. Newell, one of the founders in 1870 of the grocery firm Stevens, Morse and Newell. When Newell died in 1921, his son L.B. Newell inherited the company and changed its name to SuperValu. In later years the Chateau was owned by the Freerks family and run as an apartment complex.Architecture critic Larry Millett calls it, "A Romanesque Revival hunk and one of the grand houses of the city." The exterior, of rusticated Lake Superior sandstone, features a terrace, an arched entrance porch, carved ornamental panels, and a crested dormer on the roof's peak. The interior, in Victorian style, is lushly decorated with oak and sycamore woodwork, Tiffany & Co. lighting, and gold-leaf scrollwork. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

CONvergence is an annual multi-genre fan convention. This all-volunteer, fan-run convention is primarily for enthusiasts of Science Fiction and Fantasy in all media. Their motto is "where science fiction and reality meet". It is one of the most-attended conventions of its kind in North America, with approximately 6,000 paid members every year. The 2019 convention was held across four days at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Minneapolis Community and Technical College (Minneapolis College) is a public community college in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It has one of the most diverse student populations in the state and enrolls nearly 11,100 credit students annually. Minneapolis College is part of Minnesota State, which offers two-year associate degrees, certificates, and diplomas.

The Northwestern National Life Insurance Company Home Office, was also known as the Loring Park Office Building, and is now a 75 unit boutique apartment complex known as 430 Oak Grove located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was designed by the architecture firm of Hewitt and Brown in the Beaux-Arts style as the headquarters of the Northwestern National Life Insurance Company. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 16, 2012.

The Wesley United Methodist Church (formerly the Wesley Methodist Episcopal Church) building was constructed of granite, stone, brick, and sandstone in Richardsonian Romanesque style, featuring round-arched windows and multiple towers. When built, the building was in the residential neighborhood of Loring Park at 101 Grant Street East; it was built during Minneapolis' building boom in the last decade of the 19th century. Architect Warren H. Hayes (1847–1899) was Minneapolis' leading designer of churches in the 19th century, having designed the Calvary Baptist Church, Fowler Methodist Episcopal Church, and the First Congregational Church, as well as the Central Presbyterian Church in Saint Paul. Today the location is overwhelmed by the neighboring Minneapolis Convention Center. The church was renamed Wesley United Methodist Church when the Methodist Episcopal Church and Evangelical United Brethren Church merged in 1968. The Preservation Alliance of Minnesota listed it on its 2010 10 Most Endangered Historic Places list.The church is currently occupied by Substance Church.
