Harrison High School (HHS) is a public high school near the junction of Interstate 25 and Circle Drive on the southwest side of Colorado Springs, Colorado. It is one of two high schools in the Harrison School District 2.

Sand Creek is a stream in El Paso County, Colorado, and a tributary of Fountain Creek. Banning Lewis Number 1 Dam, located approximately one mile south of Shirley, was built across the East Fork of Sand Creek to create Banning Lewis Reservoir Number 1.Sand Creek is not to be confused with Big Sandy Creek, location of the Sand Creek Massacre.

Harrison School District 2 is the southern school district of Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. As of 2013 it had about 11,000 students.

Stratmoor (commonly known as Stratmoor Hills) is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place (CDP) located in and governed by El Paso County, Colorado, United States. The CDP is a part of the Colorado Springs, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of the Stratmoor CDP was 6,900 at the United States Census 2010. The Colorado Springs post office (Zip Codes 80906, 80910, and 80911) serves the area.

Myron Stratton Home is located off Colorado Highway 115 (South Nevada Avenue) in Colorado Springs in El Paso County, Colorado. It was once a community for children and senior citizens, including a farm. It is now the site of several organizations that support the community and provides housing to a limited number of senior citizens and homeless families.

Pikes Peak State College is a public community college in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It is the largest institution of higher education in the Pikes Peak region. PPSC offers more than 150 programs in liberal arts and sciences transfer and career technical education. The college's 60+60 Bachelor's Degree Transfer Program guarantees transfer of the PPSC Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degrees to any public institution of higher education in Colorado. Students take two years of study at PPSC, then transfer as a junior to the four-year college or university of their choice. In 2018, the college had an enrollment of 13,204, making it the largest institution in the Colorado Community College System.

Evergreen Cemetery is the city-maintained cemetery for Colorado Springs, Colorado, on the National Register of Historic Places in El Paso County, Colorado. When Colorado Springs was founded in 1871 there were already two cemeteries serving El Paso County but both were quickly found to be inadequate in serving the needs of the rapidly growing city. In 1874, the founder of Colorado Springs, General William Jackson Palmer, founded a new cemetery two miles from town. The original names were the Mount Washington or Mountain Home Cemetery. In 1877, the name was changed to Evergreen Cemetery. In 1875, the original ten acres (4.0 ha) or so was deeded to the city of Colorado Springs and it has been a city owned and operated cemetery since then. In 1993 the cemetery was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The original ten acres has grown to over 220 acres (0.89 km2) with 90,000 plus burials in 2014 and the cemetery still performs about 700 burials per year. Evergreen Cemetery is the burial place of many of the people that built the city of Colorado Springs along with founders of many neighboring cities. It is also the burial place of many of the people that made millions from the last Colorado gold rush, world renowned artists, writers and composers, philanthropists, captains of industry and business, Union and Confederate soldiers, sports figures, politicians, actors, and even an astronaut.

Wildridge, Colorado is located above the commercial core of Avon on the opposite side of the Eagle Valley from Beaver Creek. Note that hiking can be done over the peak to the Vail town side.

The Vanguard School (TVS) is a public charter school in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. Founded as the Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy (CMCA) in 1995, it is chartered with the Harrison School District 2. Originally founded as a K–6 charter school, the school expanded to a K–12 school by 2006, and it graduated its first class of seniors in 2010.

Distillery 291 is a whiskey distillery in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Distillery 291 produces grain-to-glass whiskey from a small production facility. Two of its best-known whiskeys are 291 Colorado Rye Whiskey and 291 Colorado Bourbon Whiskey. Both brands are charcoal mellowed with Colorado aspen staves.Distillery 291 Whiskey has won numerous awards for its whiskey brands. Distillery 291 whiskey is sold in Colorado and California.

Cheyenne Creek is a stream in Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado at 5,920 feet (1,800 m) in elevation. The stream is fed by the North Cheyenne Creek and South Cheyenne Creek and flows into Fountain Creek near Nevada Avenue, between Interstate 25 and the Pikes Peak Greenway trail. North Cheyenne Creek and South Cheyenne Creek flow through Teller and El Paso Counties. The source of South Cheyenne Creek is Mount Big Chief, near St. Peter's Dome, and it flows to Seven Falls.

The Olympic Training Center Velodrome, also known as the 7-11 Velodrome, is a velodrome in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The track is surfaced with concrete, which is unusual as Olympic-quality tracks tend to be timber or synthetics. It was built in 1983, has a length of 333.333 m (364.537 yd) and is situated at an altitude of over 1850 m (6000 ft) above sea level. In September 1984, the velodrome hosted the United States Cycling Federation Veteran's National Track Championships.The velodrome was the site of the track competition of the World Cycling Championships in 1986. The competition took place from 27 August to 1 September that year and marked the first time the World Championships was held in the US. Evelyn Stevens set the UCI women's hour record on the track in February 2016. In June 2014, a masters champion, Victor Williams, died after a crash during a race at the Velodrome.
