Costock is a village and civil parish in the Rushcliffe district of Nottinghamshire, England. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 Census was 621. It was estimated at 664 in 1998. Although in Nottinghamshire, Costock's closest town is Loughborough in Leicestershire.

The school describes itself as specialising in information communication technology (ICT) and mathematics. The current principal is Tom Reid. The school has a student capacity of 1386. In September 2003, the school moved into a £20m new building, built with Private Finance Initiative funding, and rented from Alfred McAlpine Business Services. The school shares its location with a leisure centre and Lantern Lane Primary & Nursery School. In September 2012, the school was changed from a comprehensive to an academy after successfully earning academy status in 2010, in September 2012 the name was also changed from Harry Carlton Comprehensive School to East Leake Academy.

East Leake () is a large village and civil parish in the Rushcliffe district of Nottinghamshire, England, although its closest town and postal address is Loughborough in Leicestershire. Census data from 2021 shows that the village now has a population of 8,555. The original village was located on the Sheepwash Brook. Kingston Brook also runs through the village. Near the centre of the village is the historic St. Mary's Church, dating back to the 11th century, which Sheepwash Brook flows past, and an old ford, which provided access to the pinfold. The church has six bells.The Treaty of Leake was signed in 1318 by King Edward II and his baronial opponents.British Gypsum, a plasterboard manufacturer, has its headquarters in the village. The manufacturing of plasterboard began in this area in about 1880.

Bunny is a village and civil parish located in the Rushcliffe borough of Nottinghamshire, England. The parish has a population of around 600, measured at 689 in the 2011 Census. It is on the A60, 7 miles (11 km) south of Nottingham, south of Bradmore and north of Costock.

Bunny Hall is a 21,438 square feet (1,991.7 m2) grade I listed country house in Bunny, Nottinghamshire. The house was originally an Elizabethan red brick house with an 80 foot high tower. The house was rebuilt in 1720 by Sir Thomas Parkyns, 2nd Baronet and now stands in 14.5 acres (5.9 ha) of formal gardens and parkland. It has been equipped with a cinema room and a leisure area equipped with gymnasium, steam and sauna rooms, a large indoor heated pool and separate Jacuzzi and spa area. There is also a large orangery, drawing room, library and a circular glazed frosted dome allowing light to illuminate the hallway and staircase.The hall is listed Grade I on the National Heritage List for England. Several buildings and structures associated with the hall are listed Grade II; these include the stable block, an out building to the north, a barn dating from 1734, the carriage archway and barns, and the garden walls and garden outbuildings, and the gate piers and walls around the park.A chest tomb near the hall and the sundial are also Grade II listed.

Stanford Hall is a grade II* listed 18th-century English country house in Nottinghamshire, England, in Stanford on Soar just north of Loughborough. It is home to the Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre (DNRC).

Leake was a rural district in Nottinghamshire, England from 1894 to 1935. It was formed from the Nottinghamshire part of the Loughborough rural sanitary district by the Local Government Act 1894 (the rest going to form the Loughborough Rural District in Leicestershire.) It picked up the parishes of Kingston on Soar and Ratcliffe on Soar in 1927, which had previously been administered by Shardlow Rural District, based mainly in Derbyshire, having been part of the Shardlow rural sanitary district prior to 1894. In 1935 the district was abolished under a County Review Order, becoming part of the Basford Rural District.

Rushcliffe Halt is a railway station on the former Great Central Railway London Extension from London Marylebone serving the north of East Leake, Nottinghamshire, currently in use as part of the Nottingham Heritage Railway. The station was built as a later addition to the railway, opening in 1911 to serve the adjacent Rushcliffe Golf Club. Later, sidings were added to serve the nearby gypsum works. The station closed to passengers in 1963, although freight continued to serve British Gypsum until the early 1980s. The station is the only surviving example of a Great Central Railway twin platform configuration; 'island' platforms were the standard on the route. During the 1990s, the line and station entered preservation. In 2000 freight trains to the gypsum works resumed and in 2003 Great Central Railway (Nottingham) introduced a weekend passenger service between Loughborough junction and Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre Ruddington on a preserved section of the line. GCRN services terminate at a Stop Board close to the A60 road. Beyond that is the connection to Network Rail and the Midland Main Line (MML). There are plans for a high-level station to be built here. The loco shed of the Great Central Railway at Loughborough are just visible, across the MML at least just 1.1 mile across. There are also plans to reinstate a bridge across the MML and to join up with the GCR at Loughborough on the Leicester side. Once both preserved sections are re-connected (with the bridging of the Loughborough Gap within full completion) this would extend to a total of over 18 miles in length.
