It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) north of Bukowina Tatrzańska, 16 km (10 mi) north-east of Zakopane, and 75 km (47 mi) south of the regional capital Kraków.A skiing center in the village attracts many tourists and has improved the economy of the area. Many residents have created chalets and bed and breakfast facilities to accommodate skiers.

Dating back to 1647, they were laid out by the parish priest Jan Ratulowski of Frydman, but their author remains unknown.

Obłazowa Cave is a cave situated in the nature reserve of Przełom Białki at Nowa Biała near Krempachy, Gmina Nowy Targ in Lesser Poland Voivodeship, southern Poland. The cave has a 9 m long chamber to which a short corridor leads. It is one of the most important Paleolithic sites in Poland.
