Long Buckby

St Lawrence's Church is an Anglican Church and the parish church of Long Buckby, Northamptonshire. It is a Grade II* listed building and stands on the north side of Church Street. There is no reference to a church or priest in the entry for Long Buckby in the Domesday Book.The main structure of the present building is medieval, with restoration in 1862 by George Gilbert Scott and in 1883–87 by William Bassett-Smith. The church consists of a chancel, nave, north and south aisles, south porch and west tower. Whilton Locks is the name of a flight of seven locks on the Grand Union Canal near Daventry, in the county of Northamptonshire, England. They are also referred to as Buckby Lock Flight.

Daventry District was a local government district in western Northamptonshire, England, from 1974 to 2021. The district was named after its main town of Daventry, where the council was based. The district was created on 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, by a merger of the historic municipal borough of Daventry with the Daventry Rural District and most of the Brixworth Rural District. The town of Daventry became an unparished area with Charter Trustees and remained so until 2003 when a civil parish was created, roughly corresponding with the boundaries of the former borough, so allowing Daventry to have its own town council.

The villages of West Haddon and Crick were by-passed by the A428 main road from Rugby to Northampton when the Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal (DIRFT) was built in 1996 near junction 18 of the M1 Motorway, 3 miles (4.8 km) west of the village.
