Long Buckby railway station

Long Buckby Association Football Club is a football club based in Long Buckby, near Northampton, Northamptonshire, England. They are currently members of the Spartan South Midlands League Division One and play at Station Road.

In the 2021 census the parish of Long Buckby, which includes the hamlet of Long Buckby Wharf, was recorded as having a population of 4,511.Long Buckby is hill top village, located around 4.5 miles (7.2 km) north-east of the town of Daventry, and roughly midway between Northampton and Rugby, with each being around 9 miles (14 km) to the south-east and north-west respectively. The west of the parish has the A5 road, Grand Union Canal, West Coast Main Line railway and M1 motorway all passing through the Watford Gap, with Watford, Northamptonshire being the next village to the north. Just south of the village is Long Buckby railway station on the Northampton Loop corollary of the West Coast Main Line.

St Lawrence's Church is an Anglican Church and the parish church of Long Buckby, Northamptonshire. It is a Grade II* listed building and stands on the north side of Church Street. There is no reference to a church or priest in the entry for Long Buckby in the Domesday Book.The main structure of the present building is medieval, with restoration in 1862 by George Gilbert Scott and in 1883–87 by William Bassett-Smith. The church consists of a chancel, nave, north and south aisles, south porch and west tower. A detailed description appears on the Historic England website.The parish registers survive from 1558, the historic registers being deposited at Northamptonshire Record Office.Long Buckby is part of a united Benefice along with Watford, West Haddon and Winwick. Each parish retains its own church building.

Murcott is a hamlet in Watford civil parish, in Northamptonshire, approximately half a mile west of the village of Long Buckby.

Whilton Locks is the name of a flight of seven locks on the Grand Union Canal near Daventry, in the county of Northamptonshire, England. They are also referred to as Buckby Lock Flight.

Whilton is a village and a civil parish in the English county of Northamptonshire. The population (including Slapton) at the 2011 Census was 271. The village is in West Northamptonshire. Whilton is 75 miles (121 km) northwest of London, 9+3⁄4 miles (15.7 km) west of Northampton and 15+1⁄2 miles (24.9 km) southeast of Rugby. The village lies 4+1⁄2 miles (7.2 km) east of the nearest town of Daventry. The nearest railway station is at Long Buckby for the Northampton loop of the West Coast Main Line which runs between Rugby, Northampton and London. The nearest airport is Birmingham Airport. Whilton gives its name to the nearby Whilton Locks and Whilton Marina on the Grand Union Canal.

Bannaventa or Benaventa was a Romano-British fortified town which was on the Roman road later called Watling Street, which today is here, as in most places, the A5 road. Bannaventa straddles the boundaries of Norton and Whilton, Northamptonshire, England, villages highly clustered 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) and double that away, respectively.

The lost village of Muscott is located within the parish of Norton in the English county of Northamptonshire.

Daventry District was a local government district in western Northamptonshire, England, from 1974 to 2021. The district was named after its main town of Daventry, where the council was based. The district was created on 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, by a merger of the historic municipal borough of Daventry with the Daventry Rural District and most of the Brixworth Rural District. The town of Daventry became an unparished area with Charter Trustees and remained so until 2003 when a civil parish was created, roughly corresponding with the boundaries of the former borough, so allowing Daventry to have its own town council.

Watford is a village and civil parish in West Northamptonshire in England. At the time of the 2001 census, the parish's population was 224 people, including Murcott and increasing to 320 at the 2011 Census. Watford is home to Watford Gap services, the UK's oldest motorway service station, located directly on the M1 motorway and alongside the West Coast Main Line.
