Marin Držić Avenue (Croatian: Avenija Marina Držića) is an important north–south avenue in the central-eastern part of Zagreb, Croatia. It is named after Marin Držić, a famous Croatian poet from the 16th century. It starts at the Petar Krešimir IV Square where it continues south from Šubićeva Street. It intersects with the Branimir Avenue, Vukovar Avenue, Slavonska Avenue (combination interchange), Milka Trnina Street, Sajmišna Road (parclo interchange) and ends at Dubrovnik Avenue (roundabout interchange), continuing south as Sarajevska Road. The avenue carries ZET tram tracks in the median through the entire route. Zagreb's main bus station (Autobusni kolodvor Zagreb) is also located on the avenue. It passes through city districts Trnje and Novi Zagreb - istok, at parts serving as a border between Trnje and Peščenica - Žitnjak.

Zagreb Bus Station (Croatian: Autobusni kolodvor Zagreb, shorter: AKZ) is the central bus station of Zagreb and the biggest of its kind in Southeastern Europe. Founded in 1961, it was rebuilt for the 1987 Summer Universiade. It is located on Marin Držić Avenue near Ban Jelačić Square. Autobusni kolodvor Zagreb d.o.o. is subsidiary of the Zagreb Holding. The core businesses are passenger transport, reception of buses, luggage and goods, sale of train tickets, information and cloakroom services. As an "A" category station, it is a member of the Pan-European Association of Bus Stations.

Šubićeva Street (Croatian: Ulica Pavla Šubića, Šubićeva ulica) is a street in Zagreb, Croatia. It connects Eugen Kvaternik Square with Petar Krešimir IV Square. It is located in the Zagreb district of Donji grad. Šubićeva Street is four-lane in its entire length with tram tracks between the roadways. Due to the tram tracks left-turns are forbidden at some intersections. The street intersects Vjekoslav Heinzel Avenue and Maksimirska Street at the Kvaternik Square, Zvonimirova Street, and Branimirova Avenue at the Petar Krešimir IV Square. As it passes the square, it changes its name to Marin Držić Avenue.

Zagrebtower is a building in Zagreb, Croatia, located in the neighborhood of Sigečica, on the Radnička Road. It was completed in late 2006. It is an elliptical, 22-story, 84-meter (276 ft) office tower with adjacent 8-story office building which includes an underground parking garage. The complex includes a total of 26,000 m2 (280,000 sq ft) of office space.

The Zagreb train disaster occurred on 30 August 1974 when an express train (number 10410) traveling from Belgrade, Yugoslavia, to Dortmund, West Germany, derailed before entering Zagreb Main Station (present-day Croatia), killing 153 people. It was the worst rail accident in Yugoslavia's history to that date and remains one of the worst in Europe's history.

Kulušić was a concert club in Zagreb, SR Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia), which hosted many famous international acts and all the important acts from the region. It is particularly associated with the Yugoslav new wave acts of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Many Live albums which today are part of the ex-Yugoslav music history were recorded in Kulušić. Film, Bijelo dugme and Azra recorded their live albums in Kulušić in 1981, followed by Buldožer, Haustor and Leb i sol in 1982, and Ekatarina Velika and Električni orgazam in 1986. Davor Gobac of Psihomodo Pop introduced his infamous stage undressing act in a 1983 gig in Kulušić. Bajaga i Instruktori, one of the foremost Yugoslav pop-rock bands, held their very first concert in Kulušić, on April 12, 1984.From its inception in 1966, Kulušić was run by the League of Socialist Youth of Yugoslavia's (SSOJ) SR Croatia branch (SSOH), a youth wing of the Croatian Communist League (SKH), itself the SR Croatia branch of the only political party in SFR Yugoslavia — the Yugoslav Communist League (SKJ). In 1987, the day-to-day running of the club was taken over by Tomo in der Muhlen.

Chromos Tower is a 60-meter (200 ft) office tower in Zagreb, Croatia. The tower was constructed in 1989 and was originally the main headquarters of the Chromos Corporation after which it was named. It is located in Kanal neighborhood, on the corner of the Vukovar Street and Vjekoslav Heinzel street. It is last skyscraper built in Zagreb before the Croatian War of Independence (1991-1995).

Stara Peščenica (Croatian pronunciation: [ˈstara peʃtʃeˈnitsa]) is a neighborhood located in the northwestern corner of the Peščenica – Žitnjak administrative city district of Zagreb, Croatia. It is bordered by Zvonimirova Street and the J. F. Kennedy Square on the north, Budakova Street on the east, railway (later Branimirova Avenue) on the south and Vjekoslav Heinzel Avenue on the west. It has a population of 5,700 (2011).The neighborhood's name (translated to English as Old Peščenica) correctly displays it both as the oldest part of what is today Peščenica - Žitnjak district, and having a rich history.

Eugen Kvaternik Square (Croatian: Trg Eugena Kvaternika, also known as Kvaternikov trg or nicknamed Kvaternjak or Kvatrić by locals) is a square located on the border between Maksimir, Gornji Grad - Medveščak and Donji Grad city districts of Zagreb, Croatia. It marks the intersection of Vlaška Street, Dragutin Domjanić Street, Maksimirska Street, Vjekoslav Heinzel Avenue, and Šubićeva Street. Kvaternik Square is one of the most frequented squares in Zagreb. The square has recently undergone a large renovation project. The renewed square incorporates an underground parking garage. However, the renewal has been met with resistance from nearby inhabitants for functional and aesthetic reasons. The square is a major transport hub within Zagreb, with ZET tram routes 4, 5, 7, 11, 12 and 13 traversing or terminating at the square.

The Classical Gymnasium (Croatian: Klasična gimnazija) is a gymnasium high school (similar to a grammar school in England and Wales) situated in Zagreb, Croatia. It was founded by the Society of Jesus in 1607. In its first year it had 260 students and it operated on the basis of the Jesuit programme "Ratio atque institutio studiorum societatis Jesu".

Second Gymnasium (Croatian: II. gimnazija, Druga gimnazija) is a high school in Zagreb, Croatia. It operates in the Križanićeva gymnasium complex in Donji grad. After the school year 2023/24, 146 graduates of this gymnasium enrolled at an institution of higher learning in Croatia, or 94.81% of students who took up the nationwide Matura exams. The most common destinations for these students were the University of Zagreb faculties of law, medicine, economics, electrical engineering and computing, and science.

Seventh Gymnasium (Croatian: VII. gimnazija, Sedma gimnazija) is a high school in Zagreb, Croatia. It operates in the Križanićeva gymnasium complex in Donji grad. After the school year 2023/24, 142 graduates of this gymnasium enrolled at an institution of higher learning in Croatia, or 93.42% of students who took up the nationwide Matura exams. The most common destinations for these students were the University of Zagreb faculties of economics, law, mechanical engineering and naval architecture, civil engineering, and science.
