The Admission Day Monument is an 1897 sculpture by Douglas Tilden, located at the intersection of Market Street and Montgomery Street in San Francisco, California, United States. It commemorates California Admission Day (September 9, 1850), the date on which the state became part of the Union, following the Mexican-American war of 1848.Other names for the sculpture include Admission Day, the Admission Day Fountain, the California Admissions Day Monument, Native Son Monument, Native Sons' Monument, Native Sons Monument, and Phelan Fountain.

The Hobart Building is an office high rise located at 582–592 Market Street, near Montgomery and 2nd Streets, in the financial district of San Francisco, California. It was completed in 1914 after only eleven months, which led to accusations that it had been constructed with a degree of recklessness. It was at the time the second tallest building in the city, at 21 floors and 87 m (285 ft). It was designed by Willis Polk. The building was constructed for the Hobart Estate Company on the site of the company's previous offices. The location was reportedly chosen by founder Walter S. Hobart in the 1880s for its prominent location at the head of 2nd Street, originally one of the city's major streets leading to the fashionable Rincon Hill neighborhood. Said to be the favorite commercial building of its designer, Willis Polk, its sculpted terra cotta exterior with Baroque ornamentation and handcrafted brass and Italian marble interior are a noted example of neoclassical architecture.Its unusual shape was dictated by the site, which is an asymmetric polygon, and since a neighboring structure was torn down in 1967, exposing one flank, it is now even more idiosyncratic and striking. The Hobart Building was designated as a landmark by the City of San Francisco in 1983, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2021.

44 Montgomery is a 43-story, 172 m (564 ft) office skyscraper in the heart of San Francisco's Financial District. Groundbreaking was in the spring of 1964. When completed in 1967, it was the tallest building west of Dallas, surpassed by 555 California Street (built as the world headquarters of Bank of America) in 1969. The building was designed, built and dedicated for Wells Fargo Bank, and their IT subsidiary was based there at one time (the bank's headquarters are at 464 California Street).44 Montgomery, as part of the original design anticipating the then-under-construction Bay Area Rapid Transit subway system, contains direct underground access to the Montgomery Street Station.

Save the Redwoods League is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to protect and restore coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) and giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) trees through the preemptive purchase of development rights to notable areas with such forests. It relies on donations from private individuals as well as funding from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and investments to buy, restore, and provide public access to redwood forest lands. The League has protected more than 200,000 acres (810 km2) of forestland. As of 2018, the League has helped create 66 redwood parks and reserves, including Humboldt Redwoods State Park and Redwood National and State Parks.In addition to purchasing and protecting land, Save the Redwoods League supports restoration, research, and education programs, and gives small grants to other organizations involved in ecological conservation. Save the Redwoods League maintains and updates a website which offers information, photos, and progress reports.

One Post Street is a 38-story, 529 ft (161 m) office skyscraper located at 1 Post Street and Market Street in the Financial District of San Francisco, California, United States. The building is owned by Brookfield Properties. It served as headquarters for the McKesson Corporation until April 2019.Designed by architect Welton Becket, the building exemplified his penchant for repetitive geometric patterns and walls clad in natural stone. Landscape architect SWA Group's design for the busy triangular/flatiron site created an octagonal, two-tiered opening leading to a Bay Area Rapid Transit station, and flanked by trees, shops and a series of granite steps used for seating.In the soap opera The Young and the Restless, the building is featured as "Lakeview Towers", where numerous characters — beginning in 2012 with Victor Newman — have lived in either of two adjoining penthouse apartments. Its exterior can be seen (with identifying signage blurred out) in establishing shots for scenes set there, with One Montgomery Tower visible in the background. Since 2016, Devon Hamilton has lived in Penthouse 2. Neil Winters bought Penthouse 1 (then named "Penthouse A") in 2018 from the estate of Victor's son Adam Newman, who was incorrectly presumed dead. 100 Montgomery Street, also known as the Equitable Life Building, is an office tower located in the financial district of San Francisco, California. The 354-foot (108 m), 25-floor tower was completed in 1955 and served as headquarters to the Equitable Life Insurance Company. Designed by William Peugh, 100 Montgomery Street is one of the first post-World War II office buildings in San Francisco, distinguished by classical white marble facade against aluminum art-deco window framing. It was purchased by developer Hines and its partner Sterling American Property in January 2006 for US$67.5 million from EQ Office. Hines and Sterling sold the building to EQ Office, an affiliate of The Blackstone Group LP, for US$165 million in October 2012, who in turn sold it for a reported $285 million to the Vanbarton Group and a pension fund partner in 2016.

The Palace Hotel is a landmark historic hotel in San Francisco, California, located at the southwest corner of Market and New Montgomery streets. The hotel is also referred to as the "new" Palace Hotel to distinguish it from the original 1875 Palace Hotel, which had been demolished after being gutted by the fire caused by the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. The present structure opened on December 19, 1909, on the same site as its predecessor. The hotel was closed from January 1989 to April 1991 to undergo a two-year renovation and seismic retrofit. Occupying most of a city block, the hotel's now more than century-old nine-story main building stands immediately adjacent to both the BART Montgomery Street Station and the Monadnock Building, and across Market Street from Lotta's Fountain.The Palace Hotel is a member of Historic Hotels of America, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

The Mechanics' Institute is a historic membership library, cultural event center, and chess club at 57 Post Street, San Francisco, California. It was founded in 1854, as a mechanics' institute, an educational and cultural institution, to serve the vocational needs of out-of-work gold miners. The institute today serves readers, writers, downtown employees, students, film lovers, chess players, and others.

595 Market Street is a 410 ft (125 m) skyscraper at the corner of Second Street and Market Street in the Financial District of San Francisco, California. It contains 30 floors, and was completed in 1979. The hexagonal-shaped skyscraper was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. In 2009, Visa Inc. moved its corporate headquarters to 595 Market Street from San Mateo, before deciding to move to Foster City in October 2012. Current tenants include LendingClub.

The Consulate General of Sweden, San Francisco is the diplomatic mission of Sweden in San Francisco, California. It is located at 595 Market Street in the Financial District. The consulate general has its origins in the Swedish consulate that was opened in 1850, which was transformed into a consulate general in 1943. The primary responsibilities of the consulate general were to disseminate information about Sweden and Swedish collaboration opportunities, promote business activities through the organization of various events, handle consular matters (mainly passport and visa processing), and provide assistance to Swedish citizens in the western United States. The consulate general's jurisdiction included, in addition to the city of San Francisco, the states of California, Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and later New Mexico until 1980 when Sweden's Consulate General in Los Angeles opened, taking over responsibility for certain states. In 1982, the consulate general in San Francisco was downgraded to a consulate, and the following year, it was completely closed. From 1983, a Swedish honorary consulate general operated in San Francisco, with an unpaid honorary consul general as the head. In 2024, Sweden reopened a consulate general in San Francisco.

101 Montgomery (also known as The Schwab Building) is a high-rise office building located in San Francisco, California. The building rises 404 feet (123 m) in the northern region of San Francisco's Financial District. It contains 28 floors, and was completed in 1984. 101 Montgomery is currently tied with Embarcadero West as the 39th-tallest building in the city. The building's developer was Cahill Contractors. The building has earlier served as the headquarters of Charles Schwab & Company.
