Chorzów Batory

The Stadion Ruchu (Ruch Stadium), also known as the Stadion przy Cichej (Cicha Street Stadium), is a multi-purpose stadium in the Batory district of the town Chorzów, Poland. Built in the years 1934-1935 for the successful Ruch Wielkie Hajduki team and currently is also used mostly for football matches and serves as the home of that club, now known as Ruch Chorzów. The stadium has a capacity of 9,300 people.

Chorzów ( KHOZH-oof; Polish: [ˈxɔʐuf] (listen); German: Königshütte [ˈkøːnɪçsˌhʏtə]; Silesian: Chorzōw) is a city in the Silesia region of southern Poland, near Katowice. Chorzów is one of the central cities of the Upper Silesian Metropolitan Union – a metropolis with a population of 2 million. It is located in the Silesian Highlands, on the Rawa River (a tributary of the Vistula). Administratively, Chorzów is in the Silesian Voivodeship since 1999, previously Katowice Voivodeship, and before then, the Silesian Voivodeship. Chorzów is one of the cities of the 2.7 million conurbation – the Katowice urban area and within a greater Silesian metropolitan area with the population of about 5,294,000 people. The population within the city limits is 105,628 as of December 2021.

The Upper Silesian Ethnographic Park (Polish: Górnośląski Park Etnograficzny) is an open-air museum in Chorzów, Poland. It is referred to as a skansen, stemming from the first open-air museum of its kind, the Skansen in Stockholm, Sweden. The area of the park is 25 hectare. The museum presents a range of agricultural buildings from all over Silesia. Amongst those are cottages from the Beskids, farmsteads from the Pszczyna region, a wooden church from Nieboczowy dating from the 18th century, and a large number of buildings and artifacts from Istebna in Cieszyn Silesia.

The Stadion Śląski (English: Silesian Stadium) is a sport stadium located on the premises of Silesian Park in Chorzów, Poland. The stadium has a fully covered capacity of 55,211, after a recent refurbishment completed in October 2017. The stadium hosted many Poland national football team matches and for many decades was Poland's national stadium. After the National Stadium in Warsaw had been completed, the Silesian Stadium lost that role. The stadium was not in operation between 2009 and 2017 due to its ongoing reconstruction. Silesian Stadium is a UEFA Category 4 stadium and hosts the annual Kamila Skolimowska Memorial, a Diamond League meeting. The stadium will also host the athletics events of the 2023 European Games and the 2028 European Athletics Championships.

Osiedle Tysiąclecia (Millennial District) is a district of Katowice and one of the largest districts in Poland. It is located in the northern part of Katowice, on the land once occupied by the villages of Bederowiec, Sośnina and east Klimzowiec. The construction of the district began in 1961 during the times of the People's Republic of Poland. The name was chosen as 1961 was a 1000th anniversary of the founding of Poland. It has an area of 1.88 km2 and in 2007 had 23,501 inhabitants.The district is bordered by the town of Chorzów on the west, on the east by ul. Bracka (Bracka street), on the south by the Rawa and Załęże district and on the north by Silesian Park (Park Śląski). The district is formed by several dozens of high apartment buildings of up to several dozen meters each. The largest of those are the "Kukurydze" (the Corn on a Cob) of 82 metres height (24 floors), which makes them the second tallest apartment buildings in Poland.

Osiedle Witosa is a district of Katowice. It has an area of 3.49 km2 and in 2007 had 12,401 inhabitants.The Witosa estate (the Wincenty Witos estate) - a housing estate and an auxiliary unit of Katowice, located in the north-western part of the city, in the complex of northern districts, between Załęska, Załęska Hałda-Brynów and the western part and the city of Chorzów, in the historic commune of Załęże. The beginnings of settlement in the area of ​​the auxiliary unit are associated with the establishment of two colonies of Załęże, built in the 18th century: Obroków and Załęska Hałda. The very housing estate named after W. Witosa was built in a colony of Finnish houses in the 1970s and 1980s. Currently, the district is mainly residential and commercial. The Witosa estate is very well connected thanks to the A4 motorway running next to the estate, as well as the international railway line E 30. The district has an area of 3.49 km² (2.11% of the city's area) and in 2007 had 12,401 inhabitants (3.9% of the population)

Chorzów power station is a thermal power plant located in Chorzów, Silesian Voivodeship, Poland. It has been in operation since 1898, since 2003 under the name Elcho. Currently (2012), the plant produces electrical power (generating capacity of 204 MW) as well as heat (500 MW) for district heating, based on hard coal.

The Complex of Silesian International Schools, founded in 2007 in Katowice, is an International Centre of University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). Prywatne Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace im. Melchiora Wankowicza, which is a part of the Complex, offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.

It is also the central district of the Upper Silesian Metropolitan Union metropolis, with a population of 2 million, and is located in the Silesian Highlands, on the Rawa River (tributary of the Vistula). It is situated in the Silesian Voivodeship since its formation in 1999, previously in Katowice Voivodeship, and before then, of the Autonomous Silesian Voivodeship. Świętochłowice is one of the cities of the 2.7 million conurbation – Katowice urban area and within a greater Silesian metropolitan area populated by about 5,294,000 people. The population of the city is 49,762 (2019).

Siemianowice Śląskie also known as Siemianowice (Polish pronunciation: [ɕɛmjanɔˈvit͡sɛ ˈɕlɔ̃skʲɛ]; German: Siemianowitz-Laurahütte; Silesian: Siymianowice) is a city in Upper Silesia in southern Poland, near Katowice, in its central district in the Upper Silesian Metropolitan Union - a metropolis with a population of 2 million people and is located in the Silesian Highlands, on the Brynica river (tributary of the Vistula). It is situated in the Silesian Voivodeship since its formation in 1999, previously in Katowice Voivodeship, and before then in the Autonomous Silesian Voivodeship. Siemianowice is one of the cities of the 2.7 million conurbation, the Katowice urban area, at the heart of the greater Silesian metropolitan area populated by about 5,294,000 people. The population of the city is 65,684 (2021). Siemianowice Śląskie borders four cities: Piekary Śląskie, Chorzów, Czeladź and the voivodeship capital Katowice.
