Passaic City School District is a comprehensive community public school district located in Passaic, New Jersey, United States, serving students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. The district is one of 31 former Abbott districts statewide that were established pursuant to the decision by the New Jersey Supreme Court in Abbott v. Burke which are now referred to as "SDA Districts" based on the requirement for the state to cover all costs for school building and renovation projects in these districts under the supervision of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority.As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprising 17 schools, had an enrollment of 14,504 students and 839.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 17.3:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "A", the lowest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.

The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1927.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 2,642 students and 162.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 16.3:1. There were 2,564 students (97.0% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and none eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 814 students and 58.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.9:1. There were 813 students (99.9% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and none eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Passaic Elks Club is located in Passaic, Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. The building was built in the Italian Renaissance Revival style in 1924. The Elks Club structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 28, 2005.

The People's Bank and Trust Company Building is an Art Deco skyscraper built in 1931 and located at 663 Main Avenue in the city of Passaic in Passaic County, New Jersey. The 154-foot (47 m) tall building is the highest in the city. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 19, 2018, for its significance in architecture. Vacant since 1994, it is now owned by the Passaic Urban Enterprise Zone.

Passaic station was a railway station for the Erie Railroad in downtown Passaic, New Jersey. The station sat in the center of Main Street at the corner of Madison Street. Though there were three other stations in the city — Prospect Street and Passaic Park to the east, and Harrison Street to the west — the simply named Passaic station was the primary station for the city, located at grade in the busiest section of its main business street.

The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Secondary Schools since 1974.As of the 2017–18 school year, the school had an enrollment of 49 students (plus 5 in Pre-K) and 7 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 6.3:1. The school's student body was 52.3% (23) Hispanic, 22.7% (10) White, 13.6% (6) Asian and 11.4% (5) Black.The school aims to provide "a safe, individual oriented environment that stresses basic skills, positive attitudes, values and academic growth." Collegiate is a member of the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools.

The Central Theatre was an entertainment venue located in the heart of Passaic, New Jersey. Designed by architects John and Drew Eberson, construction of the building was completed in September 1940. At first, the venue's primary focus was live entertainment (such as plays and concerts), as the nearby Montauk Theatre and Capitol Theater both showed movies and offered stiff competition. Its seating capacity of a little under 2,400 seats made it suitable for these types of events. With the advent of television in the late 1940s, plays became less and less profitable, and the venue switched to solely putting on movies and concerts. The theatre had always booked some of the names biggest names in music, and it continued to do so until through the early 1970s. The venue closed in the late 1970s, and was the first of the original three Passaic theaters (Capitol, Montauk and Central) that would eventually be demolished.A McDonald's was later built on the site the central theatre used to be at 19 Central Passaic Avenue, Passaic New Jersey.

St. Mary's General Hospital is an acute care hospital in Passaic, New Jersey that offers a range of health care services and community outreach programs. The hospital is located on a campus in Passaic that is bordered on the south by Oak Street, the north by Crescent Place, the west by Lafayette Avenue, and the east by Boulevard. St. Mary's address, officially, is 350 Boulevard. For most of its existence, however, the hospital operated at a facility located at 211 Pennington Avenue in the Passaic Park section of the city. It is affiliated with the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, a Roman Catholic convent in Morris Township, New Jersey. As of 2014, St. Mary's is owned by Prime Healthcare Services. It added the "General" to its name following the acquisition.

The Capitol Theatre was an entertainment venue located at the intersection of Monroe Street and Central Avenue in Passaic, New Jersey. Opened in 1921 as a vaudeville house, the Capitol later served as a movie theater, and then as a venue for rock concerts. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the 3,200-seat theatre was a popular stop on many major rock artist's tours. The venue was known for its in-house video system which resulted in a number of good quality, black and white video bootlegs. After it closed, the building fell into disrepair and it was demolished in April 1991. A shopping center known as Capitol Plaza occupies the site now.
