Passaic Elks Club

The People's Bank and Trust Company Building is an Art Deco skyscraper built in 1931 and located at 663 Main Avenue in the city of Passaic in Passaic County, New Jersey. The 154-foot (47 m) tall building is the highest in the city. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 19, 2018, for its significance in architecture. Vacant since 1994, it is now owned by the Passaic Urban Enterprise Zone.

Passaic station was a railway station for the Erie Railroad in downtown Passaic, New Jersey. The station sat in the center of Main Street at the corner of Madison Street. Though there were three other stations in the city — Prospect Street and Passaic Park to the east, and Harrison Street to the west — the simply named Passaic station was the primary station for the city, located at grade in the busiest section of its main business street.

The Passaic Bus Terminal, also referred to as Main Avenue Terminal, is a local and regional bus terminal operated by New Jersey Transit (NJT) located on Main Avenue in Passaic, New Jersey in the city's downtown area.

The Central Theatre was an entertainment venue located in the heart of Passaic, New Jersey. Designed by architects John and Drew Eberson, construction of the building was completed in September 1940. At first, the venue's primary focus was live entertainment (such as plays and concerts), as the nearby Montauk Theatre and Capitol Theater both showed movies and offered stiff competition. Its seating capacity of a little under 2,400 seats made it suitable for these types of events. With the advent of television in the late 1940s, plays became less and less profitable, and the venue switched to solely putting on movies and concerts. The theatre had always booked some of the names biggest names in music, and it continued to do so until through the early 1970s. The venue closed in the late 1970s, and was the first of the original three Passaic theaters (Capitol, Montauk and Central) that would eventually be demolished.A McDonald's was later built on the site the central theatre used to be at 19 Central Passaic Avenue, Passaic New Jersey.

Passaic ( pə-SAY-ik or locally pə-SAYK) is a city in Passaic County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the city was the state's 16th-most-populous municipality, with a population of 70,537, an increase of 756 (+1.1%) from the 2010 census count of 69,781, which in turn reflected increase of 1,920 residents (+2.8%) from the 2000 census population of 67,861. The Census Bureau's Population Estimates Program calculated that the city's population was 69,633 in 2021, ranking the city the 541st-most-populous in the country. Among cities with more than 50,000 people, Passaic was the fifth-most-densely-populated municipality in the United States, with more than 22,000 people per square mile.Located north of Newark on the Passaic River, it was first settled in 1678 by Dutch traders, as Acquackanonk Township. The city and river get their name from the Lenape word "pahsayèk" which has been variously attributed to mean "valley" or "place where the land splits."

The Capitol Theatre was an entertainment venue located at the intersection of Monroe Street and Central Avenue in Passaic, New Jersey. Opened in 1921 as a vaudeville house, the Capitol later served as a movie theater, and then as a venue for rock concerts. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the 3,200-seat theatre was a popular stop on many major rock artist's tours. The venue was known for its in-house video system which resulted in a number of good quality, black and white video bootlegs. After it closed, the building fell into disrepair and it was demolished in April 1991. A shopping center known as Capitol Plaza occupies the site now.

Passaic City School District is a comprehensive community public school district located in Passaic, New Jersey, United States, serving students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. The district is one of 31 former Abbott districts statewide that were established pursuant to the decision by the New Jersey Supreme Court in Abbott v. Burke which are now referred to as "SDA Districts" based on the requirement for the state to cover all costs for school building and renovation projects in these districts under the supervision of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority.As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprising 17 schools, had an enrollment of 14,504 students and 839.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 17.3:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "A", the lowest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church is a Catholic parish in Passaic, Passaic County, New Jersey, United States, in the Diocese of Paterson. It should not be confused with St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, also located in Passaic. The parish was founded in the 1860s by Franciscans from St. Bonaventure's in Paterson. In 1868, Bishop Bayley designated the community a parish and appointed a pastor, and a church and school were built on Prospect Street. The church was destroyed by fire in 1875 and replaced on the same site.Construction on the current church on Washington, State and Ann Streets began in 1885 and was completed around 1889. The church added to the National Register in 1979.

The Passaic Academy for Science and Engineering is a four-year public magnet middle / high school in Passaic in Passaic County, New Jersey, United States, operated as part of the Passaic City School District and serving students in sixth through twelfth grades offered by the school district. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 814 students and 58.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.9:1. There were 813 students (99.9% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and none eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church (St. John Lutheran Church) is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in Passaic, Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. It is noted for its historic church at 140 Lexington Avenue, which was built in 1896 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. St. John's was founded by German immigrants in 1891. The congregation met first at the Grand Army Hall, and later at Reisel's hall, and as membership grew rapidly, land was secured and a design developed by Ludwig Becker and executed by Ludwig Kick.
