The Saint Paul's Church (Dutch: Sint-Pauluskerk) is a Roman Catholic church building in Vaals, Netherlands. The neogothic cross shaped church was built in 1891-1893 by Johannes Kayser, replacing an earlier Saint Paul's Church nearby. The building is used as parish church for the local Saint Paul parish. Patron saint for the church is Saint Paul. It has been listed as a rijksmonument, making it a national heritage site of the Netherlands.

The Vaalserberg (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈvaːlsərˌbɛr(ə)x], Ripuarian: Volserberg [ˈvɔlsəʀˌbæʀ˦(ə)ç]) is a hill with a height of 322.4 metres (1,058 ft) above NAP and is the highest point in the European part of the Netherlands. The Vaalserberg is located in the province of Limburg, at the south-easternmost edge of the country, near the town of Vaals (after which it is named). Mount Scenery on the island of Saba, which is in the Caribbean part of the Netherlands, replaced Vaalserberg as the highest point in the Netherlands, following the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles in 2010.

The Uniklinikum Aachen, full German name Universitätsklinikum Aachen ("University Hospital Aachen", abbreviated UKA), formerly known as Neues Klinikum ("New Clinic"), is the university hospital of the city of Aachen, Germany. It is part of the RWTH Aachen and contains its whole medical faculty. In addition to wards and common hospital facilities such as laundry and sterilization units, the Uniklinikum Aachen houses educational and research facilities including specialized clinics, theoretical and clinical institutes, lecture halls and training rooms. The hospital's exterior has extensive visible pipes, which give the building an industrial appearance reminiscent of an oil refinery.

The Botanischer Garten Aachen (1.2 hectares) is a botanical garden maintained by RWTH Aachen. It is variously known as the Botanische Garten der RWTH Aachen, more formally the Botanische Garten der Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen, and sometimes the Freundeskreis Botanischer Garten or Biologischen Zentrums Aachen BIOZAC für Ökologie und Umweltpädagogik. It was originally located at Melatener Straße 30, Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, with a new addition (the Karl Garten) located on Rabentalweg. Both are open daily without charge. The gardens contain over 5,000 plant species in areas including an arboretum, an alpine garden, marsh, and collections of ferns and heath plants. Its greenhouses (600 m²) contain succulents and a good collection of carnivorous plants. The Karl Garten is patterned upon the 70th chapter of Charlemagne's "de Capitular villis vel curtis imperialibus", which specifies over 90 plants to be grown in every royal garden. The former Botanical Garden in the "Melatener Straße" is closed down. At its place you can find the university apiary now.

The Computer museum Aachen (officially called Computer-Museum der RWTH Aachen) existed from 1987 to 2009. It was created in cooperation with the Rogowski Institute for Electrical Engineering of the RWTH Aachen University. It was housed in the RWTH's "Campus Melaten" until the demolition of the building at Sommerfeldstrasse No. 32, Aachen.

Neutral Moresnet (French pronunciation: ​[mɔʁɛsnɛt], [mɔʁɛsnɛ], German pronunciation: [ˈmɔʁəsnɛt], [ˌmɔʁəsˈnɛt]) was a small Belgian–Prussian condominium in western Europe that existed from 1816 to 1920 and was administered jointly by the United Kingdom of the Netherlands (Belgium after its independence in 1830) and the Kingdom of Prussia. It was 1.5 kilometres (1 mi) wide and five kilometres (3 mi) long, with an area of 360 hectares (900 acres). After 1830, the territory's northernmost border point at Vaalserberg connected it to a quadripoint shared additionally with the Dutch Province of Limburg, the Prussian Rhine Province, and the Belgian Liège Province. Its former location is represented presently by the Three-Country Point, the meeting place of the borders of Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands. During the First World War, Neutral Moresnet was annexed by Germany, although the allies did not recognise the annexation. The armistice between France and Germany in November 1918 forced Germany to withdraw from Belgium and Neutral Moresnet. A year later, the Treaty of Versailles awarded Neutral Moresnet to Belgium, effective 10 January 1920, when the territory was annexed by Belgium to become the municipality of Kelmis. During World War II, Kelmis and the area surrounding was again annexed by Germany and had its name reverted to Moresnet, but the territory was returned to Belgium during 1944.

Lemiers (Dutch pronunciation: [ləˈmiːrs], Ripuarian: Lemieësj [ləˈmiəʃ]) is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg. It lies directly north-west of Vaals.The village sits on the Dutch-German border and part of the settlement is on German territory. The largest, Dutch part belongs to the municipality of Vaals. The smaller German part of town, separated by a small stream, is part of the adjoining German city of Aachen. The current day center of the village stretches along both sides of the N278 from Maastricht to Vaals. The historic center of the village, closer to the Selzerbeek stream, is now known as Oud-Lemiers. There's evidence of early settlements at this location. Excavations in the 1920s and 1930s uncovered remains of a large Roman villa. The village of Lemiers has some 690 inhabitants in total. Notable monuments include the 12th century Sint-Catharina chapel and the 15th century Lemiers castle.

Neu-Moresnet is a village and sub-municipality of Kelmis in the German-speaking community of the province of Liège, Wallonia, Belgium. The village was founded as Prussian-Moresnet (German: Preußisch-Moresnet) as part of the Lower Rhine Province. In 1919, after World War I, it was awarded to Belgium, and renamed Neu-Moresnet. In 1940, it was annexed by Nazi Germany, and in 1944, it was returned to Belgium. Neu-Moresnet was an independent municipality until 1977 when it was merged into Kelmis.

Laurensberg is a quarter (Stadtteil) and borough (Stadtbezirk) of Aachen, Germany. As a borough, Laurensberg includes, in addition to Laurensberg itself, Orsbach, Seffent, Soers, Vaalserquartier and Vetschau, as well as the residential areas of Gut Kullen and Steppenberg. Laurensberg is the largest district of Aachen by area. The borough borders other Aachen city boroughs Haaren, Aachen-Mitte and Richterich and the German communities of Kohlscheid (which is part of Herzogenrath) und Würselen (both of which belong to the district of Aachen, which is distinct from the city). Beyond the German border, the borough borders the Belgian town of Kelmis, in the Province of Liège, as well as the Dutch communities of Vaals, Gulpen-Wittem and Simpelveld, all contained with the Dutch Province of Limburg. The borough Laurensberg covers 2,997 hectares and has 20,381 inhabitants (as of 2020).The borough is characterized by its wide hilltop views and its interesting (from an art history perspective) St. Laurentius Catholic Church. A highlight of the old town center is the large park surrounding the Schloss Rahe, the former residence and water fortress of a patrician Aachen-area family, which was refashioned in the 18th century by the businessman Gerhard Heusch into a stately four-wing castle. Laurensberg is not to be confused with the former town of Laurenzberg, the remnants of which were absorbed by Eschweiler in the 1970s. Laurensberg is also home to the Rugby Club RC Aachen, a major competitor in the 2. Rugby-Bundesliga.

St. Benedictusberg Abbey, also Mamelis Abbey, is a Benedictine monastery established in 1922 in Mamelis, a hamlet which administratively falls within Vaals, Netherlands. It is a rijksmonument. Since 1951 St. Benedictusberg has belonged to the Solesmes Congregation, which is part of the Benedictine monastic confederation.

Moresnet is a village and sub-municipality of Plombières in the province of Liège, Wallonia, Belgium. It was originally a German speaking village. Nowadays French is the official language.

The Viaduct of Moresnet, also known as the Geul Valley bridge is a railway bridge above and on the southern side of the village of Moresnet, within the municipality of Plombières, close to the three-way Belgian frontier with Germany and the Netherlands. The bridge crosses the Geul Valley. It is a Truss bridge with a maximum height above the valley floor of around 52 metres (171 ft) and a length of 1,107 metres (3,632 ft). Viewed from a horizontal plane the railway line at this point has a gradient of 1.8‰. Viewed from above, approximately a quarter of the bridge is on a slight bend: this has a radius of 1,600 metres (5,249 ft)The Geul Valley bridge was built during the First World War, at a time when, since 1914, Belgium had been under German military occupation. It was built to support the strategic objective of being able to move troops and artillery rapidly between Aachen and Antwerp. More recently, by the 1990s it had fallen into such disrepair that trains crossing it were restricted to a maximum speed of 20 km/h (12 mph). During the early years of the twenty-first century, however, the bridge was extensively reconstructed and restored.
