Uniklinikum Aachen

The Botanischer Garten Aachen (1.2 hectares) is a botanical garden maintained by RWTH Aachen. It is variously known as the Botanische Garten der RWTH Aachen, more formally the Botanische Garten der Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen, and sometimes the Freundeskreis Botanischer Garten or Biologischen Zentrums Aachen BIOZAC für Ökologie und Umweltpädagogik. It was originally located at Melatener Straße 30, Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, with a new addition (the Karl Garten) located on Rabentalweg. Both are open daily without charge. The gardens contain over 5,000 plant species in areas including an arboretum, an alpine garden, marsh, and collections of ferns and heath plants. Its greenhouses (600 m²) contain succulents and a good collection of carnivorous plants. The Karl Garten is patterned upon the 70th chapter of Charlemagne's "de Capitular villis vel curtis imperialibus", which specifies over 90 plants to be grown in every royal garden. The former Botanical Garden in the "Melatener Straße" is closed down. At its place you can find the university apiary now.

The Computer museum Aachen (officially called Computer-Museum der RWTH Aachen) existed from 1987 to 2009. It was created in cooperation with the Rogowski Institute for Electrical Engineering of the RWTH Aachen University. It was housed in the RWTH's "Campus Melaten" until the demolition of the building at Sommerfeldstrasse No. 32, Aachen.

The Saint Paul's Church (Dutch: Sint-Pauluskerk) is a Roman Catholic church building in Vaals, Netherlands. The neogothic cross shaped church was built in 1891-1893 by Johannes Kayser, replacing an earlier Saint Paul's Church nearby. The building is used as parish church for the local Saint Paul parish. Patron saint for the church is Saint Paul. It has been listed as a rijksmonument, making it a national heritage site of the Netherlands.

Aachen West station is a railway station in Aachen on the railway lines Aachen – Mönchengladbach and Aachen-West – Tongeren.

Laurensberg is a quarter (Stadtteil) and borough (Stadtbezirk) of Aachen, Germany. As a borough, Laurensberg includes, in addition to Laurensberg itself, Orsbach, Seffent, Soers, Vaalserquartier and Vetschau, as well as the residential areas of Gut Kullen and Steppenberg. Laurensberg is the largest district of Aachen by area. The borough borders other Aachen city boroughs Haaren, Aachen-Mitte and Richterich and the German communities of Kohlscheid (which is part of Herzogenrath) und Würselen (both of which belong to the district of Aachen, which is distinct from the city). Beyond the German border, the borough borders the Belgian town of Kelmis, in the Province of Liège, as well as the Dutch communities of Vaals, Gulpen-Wittem and Simpelveld, all contained with the Dutch Province of Limburg. The borough Laurensberg covers 2,997 hectares and has 20,381 inhabitants (as of 2020).The borough is characterized by its wide hilltop views and its interesting (from an art history perspective) St. Laurentius Catholic Church. A highlight of the old town center is the large park surrounding the Schloss Rahe, the former residence and water fortress of a patrician Aachen-area family, which was refashioned in the 18th century by the businessman Gerhard Heusch into a stately four-wing castle. Laurensberg is not to be confused with the former town of Laurenzberg, the remnants of which were absorbed by Eschweiler in the 1970s. Laurensberg is also home to the Rugby Club RC Aachen, a major competitor in the 2. Rugby-Bundesliga.

Vaals (Dutch: [vaːls] (listen); Ripuarian: Vols [ˈvɔls]) is a town in the extreme southeastern part of the Dutch province of Limburg, which is in the southeastern part of the Netherlands. The municipality covers an area of 23.90 km2 (9.23 sq mi) in the foothills of the Ardennes–Eifelrange and is located about 23 km (14 mi) east of Maastricht and 5 km (3.1 mi) west of the city centre of Aachen. It borders on both Belgium and Germany. The three borders meet on the Drielandenpunt, a few meters from the highest point in the European part of the Netherlands, the Vaalserberg. The Vaalserberg used to be called "Hubertusberg".

The Jewish Cemetery Aachen (German: Jüdischer Friedhof Lütticher Straße Aachen) is located in Aachen in North Rhine-Westphalia. It is on the corner of Lütticher Straße (English "Liège street") and Körnerstraße. In 1820, the Jewish community in Aachen asked the district administrator to allocate a place for the burial of deceased members of the community, since at that time the dead of the Jewish community in Aachen had to be buried in Düren in the old cemetery or in the neighboring Dutch village of Vaals. The Jewish cemetery was transferred to the Jewish community of Aachen in June 1822 and used for burials from the same year. In 1865 and 1878, the site was expanded. The burial hall was completed in 1890. The oldest tombstone (mazewot) dates from 1822. In the cemetery, which is still in use today, there are 1366 tombstones for 2153 deceased (as of December 2014). The cemetery has been desecrated several times. Most recently, on the night of 1–2 August 2010, the cemetery wall was vandalized with anti-semitic smearings and Nazi symbolism.

Aachen Schanz station is a railway station in Aachen, Germany on the railway line Aachen–Mönchengladbach. The station is located at the western end of the inner city, and is the station with the shortest walking distance to the historic center or the Aachen Cathedral. Several bus lines to western Aachen stop here, including regional buses to Kelmis and Maastricht and the medical centers of the city (Luisenhospital, Franziskushospital, Alexianerkrankenhaus and Klinikum Aachen). It is not a bus hub, but some lines stop at the southern end (Jakobstraße) and some at the northern end (Vaalser Straße), depending on the route of the line. The accessible developed station lies between Aachen Central Station and Aachen West station at the west end of downtown.

The Vaalserberg (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈvaːlsərˌbɛr(ə)x], Ripuarian: Volserberg [ˈvɔlsəʀˌbæʀ˦(ə)ç]) is a hill with a height of 322.4 metres (1,058 ft) above NAP and is the highest point in the European part of the Netherlands. The Vaalserberg is located in the province of Limburg, at the south-easternmost edge of the country, near the town of Vaals (after which it is named). Mount Scenery on the island of Saba, which is in the Caribbean part of the Netherlands, replaced Vaalserberg as the highest point in the Netherlands, following the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles in 2010.

With more than 47,000 students enrolled in 144 study programs, it is the largest technical university in Germany. In 2018, the university was ranked 31st in the world university rankings in the field of engineering and technology, and 36th world-wide in the category of natural sciences.RWTH Aachen in 2019 emerged successfully from the final of the third federal and state excellence strategy. The university will be funded as a university of excellence for the next seven years. RWTH Aachen was already part of the federal and state excellence initiative in 2007 and 2012. The Ponttor in Aachen, Germany, (known in the 17th and 18th centuries as the Brückenpforte or Brückenthor) is one of the two remaining gates of the original city wall of Aachen (the other being the Marschiertor). The westernmost of the north-facing gates (the other being the Sandkaultor, which no longer exists), the Ponttor was built in the 14th century and manned by soldiers and militia throughout the Free Imperial City of Aachen era. Today, the Ponttor is used by German Youth and Scout groups belonging to the German Scout Club (1945) and the German Scout Association Saint George.

Öcher Schängche is a puppetry theatre in Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It was founded by Will Hermanns and others in 1921.
