Dana Air Flight 0992 was a scheduled Nigerian domestic passenger flight from Abuja to Lagos, Nigeria. On 3 June 2012, the McDonnell Douglas MD-83 aircraft serving the route suffered a dual-engine failure during its approach to Lagos. It failed to reach its intended destination and crashed onto buildings, killing all 153 people on board and six on the ground. With 159 deaths, it remains as the deadliest commercial airliner crash in Nigerian history since Kano air disaster in 1973. Nigerian Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) concluded that both aircraft's engines had lost power during the approach to Lagos. Incorrect assembly had severed the engines' fuel line, causing fuel to not be delivered to both engines. During the initial sequence of the engine failure, the pilots opted not to declare an emergency until the second engine lost power during the flight's final approach. Lack of situational awareness and poor decision-making by the pilots eventually caused the aircraft to crash into buildings.: 94 The crash once again highlighted Nigeria's aviation safety record. It was the fifth major Nigerian aviation disaster in a decade, after EAS Airlines Flight 4226 in 2002, Bellview Airlines Flight 210 and Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145 in 2005, and ADC Airlines Flight 053 in 2006. Consequently, it led to major overhaul of the nation's aviation sector. Since the crash of Flight 0992, Nigeria's aviation safety improved significantly and the country eventually retained the category 1 status of its aviation safety.

Agege Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Lagos, Nigeria. It has a seating capacity of 4,000. It is the home ground of MFM F.C., Nigeria women's national under-17 football team and since 2018, of DreamStar F.C. Ladies. State Government of Lagos says that efforts are being made to complete their up-gradation of the stadium in February, as reported by the Nigerian news agency.The Lagos Stadium is home to Nigeria Women Premier League club DreamStar F.C. Ladies, and Nigeria Premier League Club MFM, who represented the country at the 2017 CAF Champion League, along with Plateau United.The Verified Creative House, marketing and branding company, held its trade fair in Agege stadium, in Agege Local Government Area of Lagos State, from July 1-7.

Ota (alternatively spelled Otta') is a town in Ogun State, Nigeria with an estimated 163,783 residents. Ota is the capital of the Ado–Odo/Ota Local Government Area. The traditional leader of Ota is the Olota of Ota, Oba Adeyemi AbdulKabir Obalanlege. Historically, Ota is the capital of the Awori Yoruba tribe.As of 1999, Ota has the third largest concentration of industries in Nigeria. It also possesses a large market and an important road junction, found just north of the tollgate on the Lagos – Abeokuta Expressway. Ota is well known because it is home to Obasanjo Farms Nigeria Limited belonging to the former Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo. Ota is also the location of Canaanland which is the campus of the megachurch Winners' Chapel, as well as home to the Africa Leadership Forum.Otta is known as the home of some Yoruba ancient deities and festivals. Some of the festivals usually celebrated in Otta includes Egungun festival, Iganmode Cultural Festival, Gelede Festival, etc.

Agege is a suburb and local government area in the Ikeja Division of Lagos State, Nigeria.

Yaba College of Technology, popularly known as YABATECH, was founded in 1947, and is Nigeria's first higher educational institution. It is located in Yaba, Lagos. As of 2008, it had a student enrollment of over 16,000. It also has a secondary school and a staff primary school.

Alimosho is a Local Government Area in Lagos State, Nigeria with the largest population of about 3,082,900 which is according to Population [2019] – Projection The 2006 Census says the population was 1,288,714 (but the Lagos State Government argued that the population as at 2006 within the LGA was more than 2 million residents).It has now been subdivided between several Local Community Development Areas (LCDA). The LCDA restructuring kicked off after the administration of Bola Ilori, who was the last chairman of the old single Alimosho Local Government. The six sub-divisions created out of the old Alimosho are: Agbado/Oke-odo LCDA, Ayobo/Ipaja LCDA, Alimosho LG, Egbe/Idimu LCDA, Ikotun/Igando LCDA and Mosan Okunola LCDA. The LGA contains the urban area of Egbeda/Akowonjo.The Alimosho was established in 1945 and it was under the (then) western region. Alimosho's population is predominantly Egbados. The area is rich in culture, prominent amongst which are the Oro, Igunnu and Egungun annual festivals. The two main religions are Islam and Christianity. Yoruba language is widely spoken in the community. The first secretariat of Alimosho is a two-storey building located on Council street, now in the Egbe/Idimu LCDA. it i s said that the LGA is the noisiest in Lagos State.

Radio Lagos 107.5 FM (also known as Tiwa n' Tiwa) began operations in 1977 as an offshoot of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC). It is the first state-owned FM radio station in Lagos State.The station originally operated on two A.M. Frequencies (990 kHz.303mtrs and 918 kHz.327mtrs). The need for transformation produced Radio Lagos 107.5 FM (Tiwa n'Tiwa) under the control of the Lagos State Radio Service in 2001.Radio Lagos is the first predominantly specialized language station, with over 98% of its transmission in Yoruba and Egun, and approximately 2% for English bulletins. The station's target audience includes Yoruba speaking listeners in Lagos and the Nigerian diaspora.The appointment of Mr. Olajide Isiaka Lawal as General Manager of Radio Lagos has been authorized by Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Alawusa, commonly known as Alausa is a principal district in Ikeja, the state capital of Lagos State. It is the seat of the Lagos State Secretariat and offices of the Governor and Deputy-Governor of Lagos State. Alawusa also has a vibrant and growing Central Business District with several multinational business concerns like Cadbury Nigeria Plc and many others having their offices located in the area. It also has many low density residential estates like the Cornerstone Estate; MKO Abiola Gardens located within it. On October 4, 2020. Alhaji Muftau Toyin Bhadmus of the Odewale ruling house was installed as the new Baale of Alausa, Ikeja.

Lagos State House, is the official residence of the governor of Lagos State. Lagos State has two governor's residences, one at Marina in Lagos Island and another at Ikeja on the Mainland. Both residences are used for official and residential purposes. While all previous governors in Lagos State has lived in the Lagos State House at Marina, the past governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode is the first governor to live in the Lagos State House in Ikeja. The governor moved into the Ikeja residence on resumption of office as the governor of Lagos State on 29 May 2015, the governor cited punctuality as one of the reason for his movement to the Ikeja Governor's House. The governor's lodge at Ikeja was commissioned in 2007 by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, although the building was started in 1988 by Late Admiral Mike Akhigbe.

The Johnson Jakande Tinubu Park is a public park located close in Ikeja, Lagos. The park which was commissioned by the Lagos State Governor in December 2017, is a recreational space located within the proximity of The Office of the Governor, the Lagos State House of Assembly and the State Secretariat. The park is usually very busy during festive periods, but on a normal work day and during the weekends, residents and mostly workers within the environment visit the park to relax and recreate.
