Yaba College of Technology, popularly known as YABATECH, was founded in 1947, and is Nigeria's first higher educational institution. It is located in Yaba, Lagos. As of 2008, it had a student enrollment of over 16,000. It also has a secondary school and a staff primary school.

Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) (IATA: LOS, ICAO: DNMM) (Yoruba: Pápá Ọkọ̀ Òfurufú Káríayé Múrítàlá Mùhammẹ̀d) is an international airport located in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria, and is the major airport serving the entire state. The airport was initially built during World War II and is named after Murtala Muhammed (1938–1976), the fourth military ruler of Nigeria.

Agege Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Lagos, Nigeria. It has a seating capacity of 4,000. It is the home ground of MFM F.C., Nigeria women's national under-17 football team and since 2018, of DreamStar F.C. Ladies. State Government of Lagos says that efforts are being made to complete their up-gradation of the stadium in February, as reported by the Nigerian news agency.The Lagos Stadium is home to Nigeria Women Premier League club DreamStar F.C. Ladies, and Nigeria Premier League Club MFM, who represented the country at the 2017 CAF Champion League, along with Plateau United.The Verified Creative House, marketing and branding company, held its trade fair in Agege stadium, in Agege Local Government Area of Lagos State, from July 1-7.

The Ikeja City Mall is located at Alausa in Ikeja, Lagos State. It is the first of its kind on the Mainland of Metropolitan Lagos. There is a Silverbird cinema in the mall as well as Shoprite, eateries, clothing brands and clothing stores and different bank ATMs. Popularly known as Shoprite Ikeja or ICM, it serves as a meeting point or recreational spot for friends, family and business people.

Lagos State University Teaching Hospital popularly known as LASUTH is a state-owned teaching hospital in Lagos, Nigeria, attached to the Lagos State University. It is in Ikeja – the state's capital.LASUTH also shares structures with the College of Medicine, Lagos State University. The hospital was established in 1955 from a small cottage health centre by the Old western region. It was converted to a teaching hospital in July 2001.

Associated Aviation Flight 361 was a domestic charter flight operated by Associated Aviation that on 3 October 2013 crashed on takeoff from Lagos, Nigeria, killing 16 of the 20 people on board. The aircraft, a twin turboprop Embraer 120 Brasilia, was transporting the body of Nigerian politician Olusegun Agagu to Akure, Nigeria, for burial.

Ikeja is the capital city of Lagos State in southwestern Nigeria. Its population, as of the 2006 census, is 313,196. Radio Lagos 107.5 FM (also known as Tiwa n' Tiwa) began operations in 1977 as an offshoot of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC). It is the first state-owned FM radio station in Lagos State.The station originally operated on two A.M. Frequencies (990 kHz.303mtrs and 918 kHz.327mtrs). The need for transformation produced Radio Lagos 107.5 FM (Tiwa n'Tiwa) under the control of the Lagos State Radio Service in 2001.Radio Lagos is the first predominantly specialized language station, with over 98% of its transmission in Yoruba and Egun, and approximately 2% for English bulletins. The station's target audience includes Yoruba speaking listeners in Lagos and the Nigerian diaspora.The appointment of Mr. Olajide Isiaka Lawal as General Manager of Radio Lagos has been authorized by Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The newly elected Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA is Hon. Monsuru Oloyede Bello (Obe). He was elected in July 2017. There are six (6) wards in Ejigbo LCDA: Aigbaka, Ailegun, Fadu, Ifoshi, Ilamose and Oke-Afa ward.
