Ploská

Borišov is a mountain in the Greater Fatra Range in Slovakia measuring 1,508.5 m (4,949.1 ft). Its summit is deforested, covered in grass. On the southern side there is one of the largest avalanche slopes in Slovakia. The Borišov National Nature Reserve protects a well-preserved primeval mountain forest on the northern side of the mountain. In the saddle between Borišov and Ploská is the Chata pod Borišovom (transl. Chalet under Borišov), open year-round.

Tlstá (meaning fat in Slovak) is a mountain in the Bralná Fatra part of the Greater Fatra Range, measuring 1,373.3 m (4,506 ft). It is located over the Turiec Valley, rising steeply nearly 1,000 m (3,300 ft) above the valley bottom. It has rugged slopes with many rock spires and rock terraces under the grass-covered summit. With its well-preserved forests, rare plants and many karst caves in the massif, the mountain and its surrounding area were declared a National Nature Reserve in 1981, covering an area of 30.66 km2 (11.84 sq mi). Together with the opposite Ostrá Mountain and Gader Valley beneath them, they create one of the most valuable and picturesque parts of the Greater Fatra Range.

Ostredok (1,596 m above sea level) is the highest hill of the Great Fatra, at the same time in the National Park Veľká Fatra. It lies in the main ridge of the mountain. It has two peaks, the main southern (1,596 m above sea level) and a few meters lower north (1,593 m above sea level). The peaks are luminous, providing an undisturbed circular view. The slopes of Ostredok are smoothly modeled, steep, in winter there is a danger of avalanche dropping. The 49 km long Great-Frontier Highway is marked by the red tourist sign marked with a red tourist mark. [1] In Slovakia there are up to six hills called Ostredok. [2] [3]

Veľká Fatra (Slovak pronunciation: [ˈʋeʎkaː ˈfatra]; also Great Fatra or Greater Fatra; Hungarian: Nagy-Fátra) is a mountain range in the Western Carpathians in Slovakia. The Veľká Fatra lie to the southeast of the better known Malá (Lesser) Fatra mountains and are less developed, as well as being lower.

Rakytov is a mountain in the Liptov Ridge (Slovak: Liptovský hrebeň) of the Greater Fatra Range in Slovakia measuring 1,567 m (5,141.1 ft). It has a regular pyramidal shape; the top of the mountain is deforested, in places with secondary Mountain Pine. It is considered one of the best viewpoints in Slovakia as when there's good weather most Slovakian mountains can be seen from the summit. There is a wooden cross on the summit. Rakytov is reachable by a green-marked track from Ružomberok (which continues to Ploská Mountain) and by a yellow-marked track from Teplá Valley (starting at Liptovské Revúce). In the southern saddle there is a notable rock "gate".

Blatné is a lake in Slovakia. It covers an area of 1.55 hectares (3.8 acres).

Liptovské Revúce (Hungarian: Háromrevuca) is a large village and municipality in Ružomberok District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia. It borders Martin District, Dolny kubín District & liptovsky mikulaš district

Turecká (Hungarian: Török) is a village and municipality in Banská Bystrica District in the Banská Bystrica Region of central Slovakia.

Staré Hory (Hungarian: Óhegy) is a village in the Banská Bystrica Region in Central Slovakia. It is situated in the Staré Hory Mountains, between the Veľká Fatra and Low Tatra mountain ranges. As of the end of 2019, the village had a population of 555. The copper deposits in the vicinity of the village were exploited as early as 2000–1700 BC. The stone tools used by prehistoric miners have been found both in Staré Hory and the nearby village of Špania Dolina. However, the name of the village was mentioned for the first time in 1536. In the 16th century, a smelting plant was built there. After the mining industry declined, the main economic activity shifted from the production of copper and charcoal to making bobbin lace. Merchants from Staré Hory were selling bobbin lace all over Austria-Hungary. A natural spring with a statue of Virgin Mary near Staré Hory is a traditional place of pilgrimage. There is also a Baroque church, originally built in the 15th century, situated in the village. This church dons the status of a minor basilica as classified by the Roman Catholic Church, the Basilica of the Visitation.

Špania Dolina (Hungarian: Úrvölgy) is a village and municipality in central Slovakia, near the city of Banská Bystrica. Although its permanent population does not exceed 200 people, it is a picturesque historic village situated 728 m above sea level and is surrounded by the Staré Hory and Veľká Fatra mountains. It has become a popular tourist recreation centre.

Donovaly (Hungarian: Dóval) is a village in the Banská Bystrica Region of central Slovakia. Being situated in an important pass between the mountains of Veľká Fatra and Starohorské vrchy, on the route connecting Banská Bystrica with Ružomberok, it became a prominent centre of winter and summer sports.
