Manchester Piccadilly Gardens bus station, often abbreviated to Piccadilly Gardens, is one of two main bus stations in Manchester city centre. Adjacent is a Manchester Metrolink station named Piccadilly Gardens. The majority of the stands are located between Piccadilly Gardens and the Piccadilly Plaza, where buses for south or west Manchester usually begin or end their route. Other stands, also serving Piccadilly Gardens, are located on Oldham Street, Piccadilly or Lever Street for services heading towards north or east of Manchester. The bus station was first opened on the site of the demolished Manchester Infirmary in 1931 to serve as the new terminus of the various extensive regional express bus services run by Manchester and its partners that had to be curtailed under the Road Traffic Act of 1930 and subsequent regulation of bus services. The station was extended in 1932/33 and finally extended to form the full length of Parker Street in 1935.

The 2008 UEFA Cup Final riots were a series of public disorder incidents that took place in Manchester, England, on the day of the 2008 UEFA Cup Final. Serious disorder was allegedly sparked by the failure of a big screen erected in Piccadilly Gardens to transmit the match to thousands of Rangers fans who had travelled to the city without tickets. Greater Manchester Police reported that a "minority" of the 200,000 visiting Rangers' fans were involved in the violence; while Detective Superintendent Geoff Wessell, of Greater Manchester Police, stressed that a "very, very low proportion" of the travelling Rangers fans had been involved in disorder. In addition to property damage, fifteen policemen were injured and ambulance crews attended 52 cases of assault. A Manchester City Council inquiry into the events estimated that over 200,000 Rangers fans visited Manchester for the match, with 39 fans were arrested for a range of offences across the city, while 38 complaints were received about the conduct of Greater Manchester Police officers. The report however said that the 37,000 Rangers fans inside the City of Manchester Stadium were extremely well behaved and good humoured – a credit to their football club..

Piccadilly Gardens is a green space in Manchester city centre, England, on the edge of the Northern Quarter. It takes its name from the adjacent street, Piccadilly, which runs across the city centre from Market Street to London Road. The gardens also contain a bus station and a tram stop. Piccadilly Gardens were laid out after World War I on the former site of the Manchester Royal Infirmary. Originally landscaped as an ornamental sunken garden, the area was levelled out and reconfigured in 2002 with a water feature and concrete pavilion by Japanese architect Tadao Ando.

One Piccadilly Gardens is a large office building on the east side of Piccadilly Gardens, a public square in Manchester city centre. It houses six floors of office space, with shops and restaurants on the ground floor. The entrance to the offices is via a double height diagonal void through the ground and first floors of the building which links Portland Street to Piccadilly Gardens.

Westminster House is a commercial facility on the south east side of Portland Street, Manchester. As "County Hall", it was the headquarters of Greater Manchester County Council from its formation in April 1974 to its abolition in March 1986.

City Tower (formerly Sunley House) is a 30-storey skyscraper situated in the Piccadilly Gardens area of Manchester city centre in England. As of 2023, it is the second-tallest office building in Manchester after the CIS Tower (118 m (387 ft)), the third-tallest outside London after CIS Tower and 103 Colmore Row in Birmingham (108 m (354 ft)), and the 15th-tallest building in Manchester, with a roof height of 107 m (351 ft).

Watts Warehouse is a large, ornate Victorian Grade II* listed building standing on Portland Street in the centre of Manchester, England. It opened in 1856 as a textile warehouse for the wholesale drapery business of S & J Watts, and was the largest single-occupancy textile warehouse in Manchester. Today the building is part of the Britannia Hotels chain.

Bank Chambers is an office building on Portland Street, Manchester, England. Its heavy and imposing appearance gives away its previous use as a bullion bank vault by the Bank of England. The Bank of England vacated the building in the 1990s and the building is now used as offices.

XFM Manchester was a commercial radio station broadcasting alternative and indie music to Manchester in North West England. It built on the brand and format established by XFM London. The majority of programming was shared but some was produced specifically for Manchester. At its launch in 2006 it was owned by GCap Media, and later became part of the Global Radio group. In September 2015 the station was replaced, along with XFM London, by Radio X.

Sachas Hotel is a hotel in Manchester, England. The original building was built and opened as the C&A store in 1928, which later moved to a three-storey shop in the Arndale Centre in 1978. The building was converted into a hotel in 1987. The C&A store was designed by North, Robin & Wilsdon, faced in cream-coloured faience (glazed terracotta) and adopted a simplified classicism with art deco touches, such as chevron decoration at the top of the piers and on the panels beneath the windows. This was an early appearance of art deco on the British high street. The hotel has its main entrance on Tib Street and is part of the Britannia Hotels group. It offers 3 Star accommodation, events spaces, plus the services of Spindles Health & Leisure Club including a heated swimming pool. The leisure club as of 2022 is closed. Like most of the early Britannia Hotels properties, Sachas Hotel was fitted out with opulent décor and originally came with a 4-star rating. Since the 1990s, the hotel has received minimal investment and retains many original features.The hotel has 223 bedrooms and seven meeting rooms, the USA Suite has a capacity of up to 550 people, making it one of the largest hotel function spaces in central Manchester. Currently there are two restaurants on site, Jenny's Restaurant and Overstuffed Pizzeria.

Mosley Street was a tram stop in the City Zone (now Zone 1) of Greater Manchester's Metrolink light rail system which closed on 18 May 2013. It was located on Mosley Street in Manchester city centre and was the last unidirectional stop on the Metrolink, with a single platform serving southbound passengers travelling towards Altrincham Interchange, Eccles Interchange, MediaCityUK and St Werburgh's Road only. Mosley Street tram stop opened on 27 April 1992, as part of Phase 1 of Metrolink's construction. The only remaining example in the City Zone, it was designed with a varied height platform, partly full-height with ramped lower sections. When a service was worked by two coupled T-68 vehicles, the rear vehicle extended mechanical steps to allow access at the low-platform sections - a feature absent in the newer M5000 vehicles.

3MT Venue, also known just as 3MT, is the Three Minute Theatre in Afflecks Arcade, Oldham Street, Manchester, England. It was a 70-seat independent theatre, cinema and music venue established in 2010 it closed in July 2019. Its first incarnation was on the third floor of the Afflecks building on 16 October 2010 inside the Ghosts in the Machine unit. Its repertoire concentrated on new drama, poetry and comedy. It had a licensed bar. In 2012 it was the host of the first Afflecks Fringe Festival.
