Frink Park

Leschi is a neighborhood located within the city of Seattle, Washington, USA. Located on the western shore of Lake Washington, the residential neighborhood was named by its 19th-century developer for Chief Leschi of the Nisqually tribe, who was executed by territorial authorities in 1858 in Pierce County, Washington.

Leschi Park is an 18.5 acres (75,000 m2) park in the Leschi neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, named after Chief Leschi of the Nisqually tribe. The majority of the park is a grassy hillside that lies west of Lakeside Avenue S. and features tennis courts, picnic tables, and a playground. Across Lakeside Avenue to the east is the western shore of Lake Washington and a small lawn with benches. To its south is the southern portion of Leschi Moorage, separated from the northern portion by a parking lot in the E. Yesler Way right-of-way, private docks, and an office/restaurant complex. The cable car run from Pioneer Square that operated from September 27, 1888, to August 10, 1940, terminated here. As with Madison Park to the north, there was a cross-lake ferry run from Leschi Park to the Eastside before the construction of the Lacey V. Murrow Memorial Bridge. Seattle's first zoo was located here, but moved to Woodland Park in 1903. Leschi Park borders Frink Park in its southwest corner. The Duwamish called the area "Changes-Its-Face" (Lushootseed: s7ayá7oos), referring to an enormous and powerful supernatural horned snake that was said to live there.

Flo Ware Park is a public park in Seattles Central District / Leschi neighborhoods, in the U.S. state of Washington. It was named for Flo Ware in 1982.

Seattle Girls' School is an all-girls middle school located in the central district of Seattle at South Jackson Street and MLK Way S. between 26th AVE S and 28th AVE S. Seattle Girls' School (also known as SGS) is an accredited member of the Northwest Association of Independent Schools and a full member of the National Association of Independent Schools. In the 2011–2012 academic year, SGS enrolled 105 students. The student-teacher ratio is currently about 10:1, and the average class size 15. Tuition was $2,389 a school month in 2011-2012 totaling $21,500 for the school year.

BluWater Bistro is a restaurant in Seattle's Leschi neighborhood, in the U.S. state of Washington. The restaurant is the only one remaining from a small chain with locations in the city's Green Lake and South Lake Union neighborhoods, and in Kirkland.

Quick Pack Food Mart is a convenience store and fried chicken restaurant in Seattle's Central District, in the U.S. state of Washington. The Black-owned business has garnered a positive reception for its fried chicken, jojos, and samosas.

Temple Pastries is a bakery in Seattle's Central District, in the U.S. state of Washington. Christina Wood started the business as a pop-up in 2018, and relocated to a brick-and-mortar restaurant in partnership with Broadcast Coffee Roasters in 2020.

Wood Shop BBQ is a restaurant in Seattle's Atlantic / Central District area, in the U.S. state of Washington. Owned by James Barrington and Matt Davis, the restaurant has been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Wood Shop BBQ has operated outposts.

That's Amore Italian Cafe is an Italian restaurant in Seattle's Mount Baker neighborhood, in the U.S. state of Washington. The cafe has operated from a 1920s commercial building within a historic commercial district since 1994, and has changed ownership. Offering views of Seattle's skyline, That's Amore has garnered a positive reception and is considered one of the city's best Italian restaurants.

Nora's Woods is an undeveloped city park and native plant garden in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. The 0.35-acre (0.14 ha) house lot-sized wooded area is named for Seattleite Nora Woods, who purchased the land in 1987 that was given to The Trust for Public Land after her death in 1989. Cleanup of the overgrown and neglected property by neighborhood volunteers to create the park began in 1996 or 1997. In 1998, it became a city park. The Columbia Street pollinator pathway connects Nora's Woods to the 18th Avenue P-Patch and the Seattle University campus.Nora Woods' ashes are buried in Nora's Woods Park.

Fat's Chicken and Waffles is a primarily Southern and soul food restaurant in Seattle's Central District, in the U.S. state of Washington. Marcus Lalario opened the restaurant in 2015, in a space which previously housed Catfish Corner. Erika White later became a co-owner. The menu has included chicken and waffles, fried okra, shrimp and grits, red beans and rice, collard greens, cornbread, fried green tomatoes, and macaroni and cheese, as well as biscuits and gravy and eggs Benedict for brunch. Fat's has garnered a positive reception, especially for its fried chicken, and is considered one of the city's best Southern and brunch eateries. The exterior features a mural by James Crespinel depicting Martin Luther King Jr., which was originally painted in 1995 and later restored by the artist twice.

The Central Area, commonly called the Central District or The CD, is a mostly residential district in Seattle located east of downtown and First Hill (12th Avenue and Rainier Avenue); west of Madrona, Leschi and Mt. Baker; south of Capitol Hill, and north of Rainier Valley. Historically, the Central District has been one of Seattle's most racially and ethnically diverse neighborhoods, and was once the center of Seattle's black community and a major hub of African-American businesses.
