Fat's Chicken and Waffles is a primarily Southern and soul food restaurant in Seattle's Central District, in the U.S. state of Washington. Marcus Lalario opened the restaurant in 2015, in a space which previously housed Catfish Corner. Erika White later became a co-owner. The menu has included chicken and waffles, fried okra, shrimp and grits, red beans and rice, collard greens, cornbread, fried green tomatoes, and macaroni and cheese, as well as biscuits and gravy and eggs Benedict for brunch. Fat's has garnered a positive reception, especially for its fried chicken, and is considered one of the city's best Southern and brunch eateries. The exterior features a mural by James Crespinel depicting Martin Luther King Jr., which was originally painted in 1995 and later restored by the artist twice.

Nora's Woods is an undeveloped city park and native plant garden in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. The 0.35-acre (0.14 ha) house lot-sized wooded area is named for Seattleite Nora Woods, who purchased the land in 1987 that was given to The Trust for Public Land after her death in 1989. Cleanup of the overgrown and neglected property by neighborhood volunteers to create the park began in 1996 or 1997. In 1998, it became a city park. The Columbia Street pollinator pathway connects Nora's Woods to the 18th Avenue P-Patch and the Seattle University campus.Nora Woods' ashes are buried in Nora's Woods Park.

Feed Co. Burgers is a restaurant in Seattle's Central District, in the U.S. state of Washington. Previously a small chain of restaurants, the business originally operated in Redmond and has also operated in the Green Lake neighborhood. The current restaurant opened in October 2016, and the Redmond location closed in 2018. Feed Co. has garnered a positive reception and has been featured on the Food Network.

James A. Garfield High School is a public high school in the Seattle Public Schools district of Seattle, Washington, United States. It is named after James A. Garfield, the 20th President of the United States. Located along 23rd Avenue between E. Alder and E. Jefferson Streets in Seattle's urban Central District, Garfield draws students from all over the city. Garfield is also one of two options for the district's Highly Capable Cohort for academically highly gifted students, with the other being Ingraham International School. As a result, the school offers many college-level classes, ranging from calculus-based physics to Advanced Placement (AP) studio art.

Raised Doughnuts and Cakes is a bakery and doughnut shop in Seattle's Central District, in the U.S. state of Washington. Baker and owner Mi Kim launched the business as a pop-up in 2017, with her business partner I-Miun Liu. Raised relocated to a brick and mortar shop in mid 2018, and has since moved to the Midtown Square development.

Communion Restaurant and Bar, or simply Communion, is a restaurant in Central District, Seattle, in the U.S. state of Washington.

Ezell's Famous Chicken is a Seattle fast food restaurant. The first restaurant was opened on February 3, 1984, in Seattle's Central District neighborhood, near Garfield High School. The restaurant chain has 12 other locations in the Puget Sound region, including a location on the Microsoft campus in Redmond that opened in 2006. In 2015, the chain opened its Spokane location, its first restaurant outside of Western Washington. The first international location for Ezell's opened in June 2015, in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The Sharjah location has since closed. Ezell's was made famous when talk show host Oprah Winfrey called it her favorite fried chicken. It is also said she has the chicken flown to her in Chicago when she has a craving.

The Madrona–Sally Goldmark Branch Library (sometimes simply the Madrona Public Library) is a branch of Seattle Public Library, in Seattle, Washington.Serving the Central District, the library originated from the Book-Tique pilot program, established in 1971. It was renamed to commemorate community leader Sally Goldmark in 1986.The aluminum sculpture The Peaceable Kingdom by Richard Beyer was installed outside the library in 1984. Among animals depicted in the artwork is a panther, representing the Seattle Black Panthers, who were headquartered in the Madrona neighborhood. According to Brangien Davis of Seattle Magazine, "The panther represents the Black Panthers, the pig portrays the police, the sheep represent the elderly residents, and the wolf symbolizes the street toughs—all living (in an ideal past) peaceably together."

The Facts, also known as Seattle Facts, is an African-American weekly newspaper that serves Seattle, Washington. Headquartered in the Central District, it was founded September 7, 1961 by Fitzgerald Redd Beaver. Printed by Pacific Media Inc. His children, Marla, LaVonne Beaver are currently the publishers and editors. Leaving Mrs.Elizabeth Beaver as the current leader after Beaver's death in 1992 The Facts is a member of the West Coast Black Publishers Association and bills itself as the "Voice of the Black Community."

Uncle Ike's Pot Shop is an establishment in Seattle, Washington, licensed by the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board to sell cannabis to the public. It opened on September 30, 2014 and was the second cannabis retailer in Seattle, after Cannabis City. As of 2016 it led the state of Washington in cannabis retail sales at over $1 million per month. The proprietor is Ian Karl Eisenberg, aka "Uncle Ike". The business is both praised for being the first to inform consumers about pesticides in their product, and criticized for contributing to gentrification of the neighborhood it is located in, Seattle's Central District. When it opened, the shop was said to be "built like a fortress" with security provided by a company owned and staffed by ex-military service members.
