Lühe (Low Saxon: Lü(h)) is a river in northern Germany in the district of Stade in Lower Saxony, Germany. Formed at Horneburg by the confluence of the rivers Aue and Landwettern, the Lühe flows through the Altes Land, then reaching the lower reaches of the Elbe near Grünendeich. It has a length of about 12.7 kilometres (7.9 mi). Including its source river Aue, its total length is 43.3 km (26.9 mi).The Lühe's course forms the border between the Second Mile and the Third Mile (territorial subdivisions) of the Altes Land. The Lühe flows through the towns and villages of: Neuenkirchen in Altes Land, Guderhandviertel, Mittelnkirchen, and Steinkirchen in Altes Land,The Lühe empties near Lühe, a locality of Jork, into the Elbe.

Grünendeich is a municipality in the district of Stade, Lower Saxony, Germany. It belonged to the Prince-Archbishopric of Bremen. In 1648 the Prince-Archbishopric was transformed into the Duchy of Bremen, which was first ruled in personal union by the Swedish and from 1715 on by the Hanoverian Crown. In 1823 the Duchy was abolished and its territory became part of the Stade Region.

Haseldorf is a municipality in the district of Pinneberg, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is situated on the right bank of the Elbe, approx. 13 km west of Pinneberg, and 27 km west of Hamburg. Haseldorf was the seat of the former Amt ("collective municipality") of Haseldorf.

Holm is a municipality in the district of Pinneberg, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is part of the Amt Geest und Marsch Südholstein. In the eastern part is the local recreation area Holmer Sandberge, to the west of Holm begins the Elbmarsch. The B 431 Highway runs through Holm and brings us directly to Wedel and Hamburg, Uetersen, Pinneberg and Tornesch. Three Buslines connect Holm with the rapid-transit railway in Wedel. Holm's neighbour municipalities are Appen, Hetlingen and Heist.

Haseldorf is a former Amt ("collective municipality") in the district of Pinneberg, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. On 1 January 2017 it merged into the Amt Moorrege, which changed its name to Geest und Marsch Südholstein. The seat of the Amt was in Uetersen. Wedeler Au (German pronunciation: [ˈveːdəlɐ ˈaʊ̯] (listen); in older texts also named Wedelbe(c)k) is a river of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It flows into the Elbe near Wedel.

Lühesand is a small island of 1.24 square kilometres (0.48 sq mi) in the river Elbe (here the Lower Elbe), 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) east of Stade in Lower Saxony, Germany. The island, named after the easterly located mouth of the Lühe, forms part of Hollern-Twielenfleth (northwestern two thirds of the island) and Steinkirchen (southeastern third). It can only be reached by ferry from Grünendeich's westerly exclave Sandhörn and contains a large camping site, on which many continuous campers stay. The southern carrying pylons of Elbe Crossing 1 and Elbe Crossing 2 have been located on Lühesand.

The Unterelbe or, in English usually the Lower Elbe, refers to the lower reaches of the river Elbe in Germany influenced by the tides. It starts at kilometre 586, at the sluice of Geesthacht, where the Elbe forms the border between Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein. It continues downstream, then forming the border between Lower Saxony and Hamburg, before fully entering Hamburg territory. In Hamburg the Unterelbe forms two anabranches, Norderelbe and Süderelbe, the latter now partially a cut-off meander. Where Norderelbe and Süderelbe used to reunite, at kilometre 634 there is a bay called the Mühlenberger Loch. This marks the beginning of the section of the Unterelbe which called the Niederelbe. After leaving Hamburg it forms the border between Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein, again. The end it defined by the Kugelbake in Cuxhaven at kilometre 727.73. It continues further into the Wadden Sea as the Außenelbe, where it passes the Hamburg islands Scharhörn and Nigehörn.
