Steinkirchen (German: Steinkirchen im Alten Land, Low German: Steenkark) is a municipality in the district of Stade, Lower Saxony, Germany.

Guderhandviertel is a municipality in the district of Stade, Lower Saxony, Germany. It belonged to the Prince-Archbishopric of Bremen. In 1648 the Prince-Archbishopric was transformed into the Duchy of Bremen, which was first ruled in personal union by the Swedish and from 1715 on by the Hanoverian Crown. In 1823 the Duchy was abolished and its territory became part of the Stade Region.

Neuenkirchen (German: Neuenkirchen im Alten Land) is a municipality in the Altes Land, district of Stade, Lower Saxony, Germany. Neuenkirchen belonged - as to its government - to the Prince-Archbishopric of Bremen, established in 1180. In religious respect, however, Neuenkirchen formed part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Verden until after 1566 its incumbent bishops lost papal recognition, except of a last Catholic bishop from 1630 to 1631, respectively. In 1648 the prince-archbishopric was transformed into the Duchy of Bremen, which was first ruled in personal union by the Swedish – interrupted by a Danish occupation (1712–1715) – and from 1715 on by the Hanoverian Crown. In 1807 the ephemeric Kingdom of Westphalia annexed the duchy, before France annexed it in 1810. In 1813 the duchy was restored to the Electorate of Hanover, which – after its upgrade to the Kingdom of Hanover in 1814 – incorporated the duchy in a real union and the ducal territory, including Neuenkirchen, became part of the Stade Region, established in 1823.

Lühe (Low Saxon: Lü(h)) is a river in northern Germany in the district of Stade in Lower Saxony, Germany. Formed at Horneburg by the confluence of the rivers Aue and Landwettern, the Lühe flows through the Altes Land, then reaching the lower reaches of the Elbe near Grünendeich. It has a length of about 12.7 kilometres (7.9 mi). Including its source river Aue, its total length is 43.3 km (26.9 mi).The Lühe's course forms the border between the Second Mile and the Third Mile (territorial subdivisions) of the Altes Land. The Lühe flows through the towns and villages of: Neuenkirchen in Altes Land, Guderhandviertel, Mittelnkirchen, and Steinkirchen in Altes Land,The Lühe empties near Lühe, a locality of Jork, into the Elbe.

Dollern (German: Bahnhof or Haltestelle Dollern) is a rapid transit railway station, located in the village Dollern, Lower Saxony. The trains of the Hamburg S-Bahn serve the station on the line S3 from Pinneberg via Hamburg-Altona station and central station to Stade.

The trains of the Hamburg S-Bahn serve the station with the line S3 from Pinneberg via Hamburg-Altona station and central station to Stade. It is also a station for the Niederelbebahn line from Hamburg to Cuxhaven.

Horneburg is a municipality southwest of Hamburg (Germany) in the district of Stade in Lower Saxony. Horneburg is also the seat of the Samtgemeinde ("collective municipality") Horneburg.

Dollern is a municipality in the district of Stade, Lower Saxony, Germany. In 2006 the population was 1,747.

Lühesand is a small island of 1.24 square kilometres (0.48 sq mi) in the river Elbe (here the Lower Elbe), 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) east of Stade in Lower Saxony, Germany. The island, named after the easterly located mouth of the Lühe, forms part of Hollern-Twielenfleth (northwestern two thirds of the island) and Steinkirchen (southeastern third). It can only be reached by ferry from Grünendeich's westerly exclave Sandhörn and contains a large camping site, on which many continuous campers stay. The southern carrying pylons of Elbe Crossing 1 and Elbe Crossing 2 have been located on Lühesand.

The Unterelbe or, in English usually the Lower Elbe, refers to the lower reaches of the river Elbe in Germany influenced by the tides. It starts at kilometre 586, at the sluice of Geesthacht, where the Elbe forms the border between Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein. It continues downstream, then forming the border between Lower Saxony and Hamburg, before fully entering Hamburg territory. In Hamburg the Unterelbe forms two anabranches, Norderelbe and Süderelbe, the latter now partially a cut-off meander. Where Norderelbe and Süderelbe used to reunite, at kilometre 634 there is a bay called the Mühlenberger Loch. This marks the beginning of the section of the Unterelbe which called the Niederelbe. After leaving Hamburg it forms the border between Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein, again. The end it defined by the Kugelbake in Cuxhaven at kilometre 727.73. It continues further into the Wadden Sea as the Außenelbe, where it passes the Hamburg islands Scharhörn and Nigehörn.
