Kennet Island

Foudry Brook is a small stream in southern England. It rises from a number of springs near the Hampshire village of Baughurst, and flows to the east and then the north, to join the River Kennet to the south of Reading. The upper section is called Silchester Brook, and beyond that, Bishop's Wood Stream. The underlying geology is chalk, covered by a layer of clay, and so it has the characteristics of a clay stream, experiencing rapid increases in level after heavy rain due to run-off from the surrounding land. It passes a number of listed buildings and scheduled monuments, including the site of the Roman town of Calleva Atrebatum or Silchester. The natural flow of the river is supplemented by treated effluent from two major sewage treatment works, which contribute to the poor quality of the water. Water quality is also affected by physical modification of the channel, which restricts the free movement of fish around the system.

Whitley is an electoral ward of the Borough of Reading, in the English county of Berkshire. It is covers an area south and south-east of the town centre of the town.

Reading Stadium also known as Smallmead Stadium was an English greyhound racing and speedway stadium in Bennet Road, Reading in the county of Berkshire. It is not to be confused with Reading Stadium on the Oxford Road that closed in 1974 and was located further to the north of Reading.

The Madejski Stadium (currently known as the Select Car Leasing Stadium for sponsorship reasons) is a football stadium in Reading. It is the home of Reading Football Club, who play in the EFL Championship. It also provides the finish for the Reading Half Marathon. It is an all-seater bowl stadium with a capacity of 24,161 and is located close to the M4 motorway. The West Stand contains the voco Reading Hotel, formerly known as the Millennium Madejski Hotel. The stadium was opened on 22 August 1998 and replaced Elm Park as Reading's home ground.

Fobney Lock is a lock on the River Kennet in the Small Mead area of Reading in the English county of Berkshire. Between the lock cut for the lock and the river itself is Fobney Island, which is a nature reserve.Fobney Lock was built between 1718 and 1723 under the supervision of the engineer John Hore of Newbury, and this stretch of the river is now administered by Canal & River Trust and known as the Kennet Navigation. It has a rise/fall of 7 ft 8 in (2.24 m).Fobney Island was transformed into a nature reserve in 2013, with the creation of wetland, a hay meadow and reed beds. It was intended that the resulting habitats would attract wildlife, including birds, bats, water voles, and otters.

Whitley is a suburb of the town of Reading, in the English county of Berkshire. It is also an electoral ward of the Borough of Reading.

Katesgrove is an inner-town district immediately to the south of the centre of the town of Reading, in the English county of Berkshire. It is bounded on the north by the Inner Distribution Road, on the east by Sidmouth Street, Kendrick Road and Northumberland Avenue, on the south by Long Barn Lane and Rose Kiln Lane and on the west by the River Kennet.

John Madejski Academy (JMA) is an 11–19 years old academy in Reading, Berkshire, England. JMA is part of the White Horse Federation Trust. Louise Baker became principal of JMA in September 2020. JMA's curriculum includes technology, music, textiles, computing, physical education, history, geography, drama, PSHE (personal, social, health and economic education), art, science, English and mathematics.

Reading Girls' School is a single-sex partially selective (bilateral) school in Reading, Berkshire, England.

Coley Recreation Ground, often simply known as Coley Rec, is a medium-sized public park in the Coley Park suburb of the town of Reading in the English county of Berkshire. The park comprises formal open parkland, with a children's play area and football, basketball, tennis and cricket pitches. There are perimeter trees, and a undulating banked section on the western end. The site now occupied by the recreation ground was originally used by Coley Kilns, a brick, tile and pottery works. The area was dug out for clay, leaving the higher ground at the west. The kilns closed in the 1880s and the area was levelled to make way for the new recreation ground. The ground was home to Reading F.C. for part of the period between 1878, when they moved from Reading Recreation Ground, and 1896, when they moved to the purpose-built Elm Park stadium.

Green Park is a recently developed suburb of the town of Reading in the English county of Berkshire. Initially conceived as a business park, it now also encompasses a residential development of more than 1,300 new homes, including apartment blocks and "New-England" style houses. There are also shops, restaurants, a school and a new railway station. The Madejski Stadium, home of Reading Football Club, adjoins Green Park to the east. Green Park is bounded by the M4 motorway to the south, the Madejski Stadium and the A33 road to the east, the floodplain of the River Kennet to the north, and the Reading to Basingstoke railway line to the west. From a local government perspective it is largely located within the borough of Reading, but parts lie within the civil parish of Shinfield, in the borough of Wokingham, and the civil parish of Burghfield, in West Berkshire. However the residential components are all within Whitley ward of the borough of Reading.

Church is an electoral ward of the Borough of Reading, in the English county of Berkshire. In a set of boundary changes in 2022, the boundaries of Church ward were significantly changed, losing areas to both Redlands and Whitley wards, whilst gaining a considerable area from Whitley ward west of Northumberland Avenue. One rather strange consequence of this is that the geographical centre of the suburban neighbourhood of Whitley, as depicted on Ordnance Survey maps, now lies in Church ward rather than Whitley ward.
