Reading Girls' School is a single-sex partially selective (bilateral) school in Reading, Berkshire, England.

Whitley is a suburb of the town of Reading, in the English county of Berkshire. It is also an electoral ward of the Borough of Reading.

John Madejski Academy (JMA) is an 11–19 years old academy in Reading, Berkshire, England. JMA is part of the White Horse Federation Trust. Louise Baker became principal of JMA in September 2020. JMA's curriculum includes technology, music, textiles, computing, physical education, history, geography, drama, PSHE (personal, social, health and economic education), art, science, English and mathematics.

Cintra Park is a public park on the border of the Katesgrove, East Reading and Whitley neighbourhoods of the town of Reading in the English county of Berkshire. The park consists of flat open land which has recreational facilities and is located off Christchurch Road. There are panoramic views to the south over Whitley, best viewed in winter. The park has a children's play area, a picnic area, a hard-surfaced pitch and outdoor gym equipment. It has facilities for bowls, cricket, football and basketball. It is accessible from Cintra Avenue and Northumberland Avenue. The site of Cintra Park was originally the sports ground of Suttons Seeds, who were based in Reading until 1976. The name is thought to be derived from the town of Sintra in Portugal.

Hamilton School (formerly Phoenix College) is a coeducational special school located in Reading, Berkshire, England.The school has 64 places for 11–18 year olds. All students have statements of special educational needs relating to behavioural, social and emotional needs. The school was last inspected in 2019 and judged Inadequate.Previously a community school administered by Reading Borough Council, in January 2020 Phoenix College converted to academy status and was renamed Hamilton School. The school is now sponsored by the Maiden Erlegh Trust.

Leighton Park School is a co-educational private school for both day and boarding pupils in Reading in South East England. The school's ethos is closely tied to the Quaker values, having been founded as a Quaker School in 1890. The school's ethos is described as achievement with values, character and community. It is one of seven Quaker schools in England.

Progress Theatre is a local theatre company at Reading in England. It is a registered charity and it is a member of the Little Theatre Guild (LTG) and the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA).

Christ Church is a Church of England parish church situated to the south of the centre of the town of Reading in the English county of Berkshire. The church is located at the junction of Christchurch Road and Kendrick Road, and its tower and spire terminate the vista looking up the latter road. It is a good example of the High Victorian style and is a Grade II* listed building.The church was built in 1861-2 by the architect Henry Woodyer, and consecrated on 7 August 1862. Originally planned as a chapel of ease for St Giles' Church, it was enlarged in 1874 with the addition of the tower, spire, south aisle and vestries.

Wantage Hall, built 1908, is the oldest hall of residence at the University of Reading, in Reading, England. The hall is one of 13 belonging to the University and is close to Whiteknights Campus. It is designated a grade II listed building, a status given for its special architectural or historic interest.The hall provides fully catered residential accommodation for about 245 students.

The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) is an independent intergovernmental organisation supported by most of the nations of Europe. It is based at three sites: Shinfield Park, Reading, United Kingdom; Bologna, Italy; and Bonn, Germany. It operates one of the largest supercomputer complexes in Europe and the world's largest archive of numerical weather prediction data.

The International Capital Market Association Centre (or ICMA Centre) is a centre of higher education based in the English town of Reading, Berkshire. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and executive education tailored to the capital markets industry. Established in 1991 with funding provided by the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) in Zurich through a partnership with the University of Reading, the centre is housed in a purpose-built modernist building, and was formally opened in March 1998 by Sir Brian Unwin, then President of the European Investment Bank. The centre's facilities include three dealing rooms where students learn how markets function and apply theory through simulations. The centre also provides two lecture theatres, several seminar rooms, information seating area and café bar. The upper floor of the centre houses the administrative and academic staff and doctoral researchers. In 2008, ICMA invested a further £5 million, which funded an expansion to the building. The extension includes the flagship 40 seat dealing room - the largest in Europe – which is sponsored in part by Thomson Reuters, as well as a 170-seat lecture theatre, new seminar rooms and a dedicated research area. The building is fitted with audio and visual technology allowing the podcasting and webstreaming of lecture content. The new building opened for students at the start of the 2009-2010 academic session. ICMA's investment in the centre now totals over £10 million, making it the largest single corporate investment in any European business school.

The Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology is a museum of ancient Mediterranean archaeology, primarily that of ancient Greek civilisation but with smaller collections of Egyptian, Etruscan and Roman items. It contains one of the most important collections of ancient Greek pottery in the United Kingdom. The museum is part of the University of Reading's University Museums and Special Collections Services (UMASCS), and is located in and works closely with the university's Department of Classics. The museum is situated on the university's Whiteknights Campus, about 2 miles (3.2 km) from the centre of the English town of Reading, Berkshire. The museum is open to the public and entry is free.
