The old town hall, Szombierki (Polish: Stary Ratusz w Szombierkach, German: Schomberg Rathaus) is a town hall building in Szombierki (a district of the city of Bytom), Poland. It used to be as the seat of the local government of the Schomberg Municipality (Until 1945), and later the Gmina Chruszczów (1945—1951).

Gemeinde Schomberg (Polish: Gmina Szombierki), was a municipality in the District of Beuthen, part of the Silesian Province of Germany. Its seat was the town of Schomberg (now a district of Bytom).

Szombierki Heat Power Station and Szombierki Coal Mine (KWK Szombierki), both recognized as important historical and industrial monuments, are located here. In 2004 the winding tower "Krystyna" of the former coal mine KWK Szombierki and its surroundings was listed as a National Heritage Site. In 2009 the tower and the Power Station were voted as two of the "Seven Architectural Wonders of the Silesian Voivodeship." In 2013 the Power Station was also recognized as a national heritage site.The village of Szombierki was first mentioned in documents in 1369. In 1768, the first coal mine was established in Szombierki. However, it was closed around 1820. During World War II, Nazi Germany held prisoners of war in the settlement. POWs worked as forced labourers in the local coal mine, which formed the E72 subcamp of the Stalag VIII-B/344 prisoner of war camp.Szombierki is home to football club Szombierki Bytom, established in 1919, Polish champions from 1980. The historic churches of Saint Margaret and of the Sacred Heart of Jesus are located in the district.

Szombierki Power Station (Polish: Elektrociepłownia Szombierki) is a coal-fired power station in Szombierki district of Bytom, Poland. Operational since 1920, since the 1990s it operates at a limited capacity, and is regarded as a monument due to its architectural values. Its first owner was Schaffgotsch Bergwerksgesellschaft GmbH. Its over all height is 120 meters.

The settlement is located in south-western Łagiewniki, Bytom and is bordered by Szombierki (a district of Bytom) in the north, Ruda Śląska in the west and Świętochłowice in the south.

The Monument to the Fallen Residents of Bobrek during World War I is a memorial situated by the Church of the Holy Family in Bobrek—a district of the city of Bytom in Poland. Protection over the memorial (as well as the adjacent church) was established in 2009 by the Provincial Office for the Protection of Monuments in Katowice. In recent years, the memorial was restored.

Stadion im. Edwarda Szymkowiaka (English: Edward Szymkowiak Stadium) is a multi-use stadium in Bytom, Poland. Until 1945 former name of stadium was Hindenburg Stadium. It is currently used mostly for football matches and serves as the home of Polonia Bytom. The stadium has a capacity of 5,500 people. It was opened in 1929. On 16 August 1942, the venue hosted an official football match between Germany and Romania, which ended 7–0 for Germany.The venue is named after Edward Szymkowiak, legendary Polonia Bytom and Poland national team goalkeeper.

Polonia Bytom (Polish pronunciation: [pɔˈlɔɲja ˈbɨtɔm]) is a Polish football club based in Bytom. Founded in 1920, the team won two championships, in 1954 and 1962. As of the 2023–24 season, they currently compete in the II liga.

Szombierki Coal Mine is a former coal mine in Szombierki, Bytom, Poland. It was created in 1870 from several smaller coal fields. From mid-1990s it began to be closed down. In 2004 its winding tower "Krystyna" (formerly Kaiser Wilhelm) was added to the Polish register of monuments.During a 2009 vote the tower was voted as one of the "Seven Architectural Wonders of the Silesian Voivodeship."

Bobrek (German: Bobrek) is a district of the city of Bytom in the Silesian Voivodeship, Poland. The district borders Szombierki (a district of Bytom) to its east, Karb (another district of Bytom) to its north, Ruda Śląska to its south and Zabrze to its east. As of 2011 it has a population of roughly 5 thousand people. Bobrek is very closely associated with Karb. During World War II, the Germans operated three forced labour camps in Bobrek, including a camp solely for Jews and the E209 subcamp of the Stalag VIII-B/344 prisoner of war camp.
