Church of St. Luke the Evangelist, Zagreb (Croatian: Župna crkva sv. Luke evanđelista u Zagrebu) is a Catholic parish church located in the neighbourhood Travno of Zagreb, Croatia.

Mamutica (English: Female mammoth) is the largest building (by volume) in Zagreb and Croatia, as well as one of the largest apartment blocks in Europe. This apartment complex was built by Industrogradnja in 1974, and designed by prof. Đure Mirković and Nevenka Postružnik. Located in Eastern Novi Zagreb, in the neighborhood of Travno. It is the Croatian version of the panelák or plattenbau. The building is about 240 m long, 60 m high and has 19 populated floors. There are 1,169 apartments in the building, home to about 5,000 people. The building has 6 entrances (big Mamutica) and 3 entrances (small Mamutica). As part of Mamutica, there are 256 garages and 24 outlets at plateau level.Mamutica is also the name of a crime TV series broadcast by Croatian Radiotelevision since 2008 (two seasons as of 2010), focusing on police cases being solved in and around the building.The estimated value of the building (from 2010) is about 135 million EUR.Only two buildings in Zagreb can withstand the strongest earthquake, Mamutica and Super Andrija.Because there is one of the most massive aggregates inside the building, in the event of a war, Mamutica was planned to be turned into a hospital.

Zagreb bypass (Croatian: Zagrebačka obilaznica) is a U-shaped motorway partially encircling Zagreb, Croatia. The largest part by far, between Jankomir and Ivanja Reka interchanges, was built between 1977 and 1979, while the Ivanja Reka – Sveta Helena section was built between 1996 and 1999. The bypass is 48.9 kilometres (30.4 mi) long, tracing around the city from the northwestern suburb of Zaprešić to Sveta Helena in the northeast. The bypass crosses the Sava River twice and comprises a bridge across the Sava-Odra floodwater overflow canal. As the busiest sections between Jankomir and Buzin interchanges carry traffic volume of approximately 45,000 AADT, it is the most heavily used motorway sector in Croatia. Zagreb bypass is not designated as a separate motorway with a distinct motorway number, rather it consists of sections of three motorways: Those motorway sections are concurrent with sections of the D1 and D3 state roads as well as European routes E59, E65, E70 and E71. The bypass currently comprises four traffic lanes along its entire length, with an emergency lane in each direction. In its current form, the Zagreb bypass has a small number of interchanges spaced widely apart. For example, the current Zaprešić interchange extends a trip from Zaprešić to Zagreb via the bypass by 4.5 km (2.8 mi). The last new interchange was built in 2007–2008 at Kosnica in the southeast, to connect the Homeland Bridge and Zagreb via Radnička cesta (Ž1029).There are two rest areas along the bypass: Lučko rest area is located between Jankomir and Lučko interchanges comprising famous Plitvice Motel, well known for its pedestrian bridge across the bypass, while Sesvete rest area is located between Popovec and Sveta Helena interchanges. A new rest area is planned between Jakuševec and Kosnica interchanges.

Utrina (colloquially Utrine) is a residential neighborhood located in the Novi Zagreb - istok (New Zagreb - east) district of Zagreb, Croatia. It is bordered by Avenija Dubrovnik (Dubrovnik Avenue) on the north side, Ulica Savezne Republike Njemačke (Federal Republic of Germany Street) on the west side, Ukrajinska ulica (Ukraine street) on the south side, and Sarajevska cesta (Sarajevo road) on the east side. It has a population of 7,749 (2011).It is best known for its farmers' market. The neighborhood is also the site of the largest dog park in Zagreb, opened in 2012.Utrina is served by ZET tram lines 6, 7, 8, 14 and 31, bus line 222, from the northern side; bus line 221 from the southern side; and bus lines 109, 219, 220, 229 and the Pleso Prijevoz Airport Shuttle[1] bus from the west side.

Novi Zagreb – istok (Croatian pronunciation: [nôʋiː zǎːgreb ǐstok], "New Zagreb – east") is a district in Zagreb, Croatia. Within this district in the neighborhood of Travno lies Mamutica, which was built to be the largest communal housing block in southeast Europe. Mamutica towers above other blocks of flats so that the impression is given that it must be on a hill even though the entire area is a flat plain. In the north of Novi Zagreb, just south of the river Sava, is lake Bundek. Though originally a gravel pit, nature has reclaimed it and it is now an area of woods, brushwood and ponds. In the year 2006, lake Bundek was hastily decorated; it now has a beach and some amusing accessories. Novi Zagreb-istok has the status of a city district (gradska četvrt) and as such has an elected council. Novi Zagreb-istok had 59,055 residents during the 2011 census.

The First Gymnasium (Croatian: Prva Gimnazija), commonly known as I. gymnasium, is a co-educational public secondary school in Zagreb, Croatia. It was the first secular gymnasium to be established in Zagreb, and second throughout Croatia. It was founded in 1854, as a three-year schooling institution for exclusively boys. As of 2021, the principal is Dunja Marušić.

Zapruđe is a neighbourhood in Zagreb, in the Novi Zagreb East District just south of Sava River near the Youth Bridge. The Zapruđe local committee had a population of 6,184 at the 2011 census.As of 2012, the district consists mostly of residential high-rises, but it also has several chain stores, a butcher, a post office, a bank, a school, a kindergarten, a library, a community hall, a health center, and a pharmacy.It has its own festivals and traditions, such as the Zapruđe Festival, and a soccer team, NK Zapruđe. Corpus Christi Church, Zagreb (Croatian: Župna crkva Tijela Kristova u Zagrebu) is a Catholic parish church located in the neighbourhood Sopot of Zagreb, Croatia.

Sopot is a residential neighbourhood of Zagreb, Croatia. It is part of the Novi Zagreb - istok district and it has a population of 7,428 (2011).Sopot was one of the earliest parts of Novi Zagreb to be built. It consists almost entirely of tower blocks and blocks of flats, surrounded by birch trees and poplars. The Zagreb tram route for Lines 7 and 14 runs along its northern edge, on Avenue Dubrovnik, and Line 6 has its turning point there.

Jakuševec is a neighborhood in the Novi Zagreb – istok city district of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. Located on Sajmišna Road east of Sarajevska Road and Utrine, Travno and Dugave apartment block complexes, the neighborhood is mostly uninhabited, with an area of 455.21 ha and a total population of around 2,000. It is the site of the city's largest landfill, the city's biggest used car market (referred to as "Hrelić" which is actually a separate settlement further south) and the Zlatni Konj art gallery. The first records of inhabitants in Jakuševec area date back to 1334 as "Parochia Sancti Marci Ev. in campo" (English: Parish of St. Mark the Evangelist in the field), which is the name recorded up to 1501. At that time, the parish' name is changed to "Parocha Sancti Marci Ev. in spinis" (English: Parish of St. Mark the Evangelist among the thorns). However, during the leadership of pastor Josip Vitković, the parish is renamed in 1871 to "Parish of Jakuševec" (Croatian: Jakuševečka župa). Jakuševec remained a standalone village until 1991 when it was integrated along with several adjacent villages into the City of Zagreb.

According to leaked diplomatic cables, its fifth floor is used as a regional base of CIA and NSA.The U.S. embassy in Zagreb is a charter member of the League of Green Embassies and a founding member of the Zagreb Green Building Council. According to this, embassy support recycling, energy and water use reduction programs. The embassy also sponsors American Corners at libraries in Osijek, Rijeka, Zadar, and Zagreb.
