Lazisko (Hungarian: Laziszkó) is a village and municipality in Liptovský Mikuláš District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia.

Demänovská Ice Cave or Demänovská ľadová jaskyňa (in Slovak) is an ice cave in the Demänovská Valley (Low Tatra) in Slovakia. It was first mentioned in 1299 and is one of oldest known caves in Europe. After the opening of Demänovská jaskyňa Slobody in 1924, interest in this cave declined. It was reopened to the public after the reconstruction of wooden stairs and electrical lighting in 1952, with 680 m accessible out of the 1,975 m. Currently, the route for visitors is 850 m long and takes about 45 minutes to traverse.

Demänovská Cave of Liberty (Slovak: Demänovská jaskyňa slobody) is a karst cave in Low Tatras, Slovakia. The cave was discovered in 1921, and, opened to the public in 1924. It is the most visited cave in Slovakia. The public entrance is at an altitude of 870 metres (2,850 ft). The entire cave has a length of 8,126 metres (5.0 mi), but, only 1,800 metres (1.1 mi) are open to the public. Cave bear bones were found in a passage now named Bear's Passage (Slovak: Medvedia chodba). Large domes have been created with the largest being the Great Dome, which is 41m high, with a length of 75m and width of 35m.

The Armed Forces Academy of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik, located in Liptovský Mikuláš, is Slovakia's only Military academy. It was originally established in 1945, right after the end of World War II, first as a High School and from 1973 as a university. AOS has about 500 students, including 50 PhD students. Since 2015, Jozef Puttear, himself an AOS alumnus, has served as the rector of AOS.

Ploštín (Hungarian: Plostin) is a settlement and a borough of Liptovský Mikuláš in northern Slovakia, located 3 km south of the city center. In 2009, Ploštín had a population of 481.

Galovany (Hungarian: Gálfalu) is a village and municipality in Liptovský Mikuláš District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia. The village merged with the former Velika Paludza village in the 19th century.

Zimný štadión Liptovský Mikuláš (Liptovský Mikuláš Winter Sports Stadium) is an arena in Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovakia. It is primarily used for ice hockey, and it is the home arena of MHk 32 Liptovský Mikuláš. It was opened in 1949 and holds 3,680 people.

Demänovská Dolina (Hungarian: Deménvölgy) is a village and municipality in Liptovský Mikuláš District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia. More precisely, it is situated in Demänovská valley, where Demänovská Cave of Liberty and Demänovská Ice Cave can be found.

The Ondrej Cibak Whitewater Slalom Course, in Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovakia, is the world's second-oldest artificial whitewater venue for international canoe slalom competition, after the Augsburg Eiskanal. Built in 1978, it diverts water around a small dam on the Váh river. With recent upgrades, including a covered stadium for spectators, it remains a prime site for the sport.As a training facility, it is home course for canoe slalom's most highly decorated athlete, Michal Martikán, who has five Olympic medals, two of them gold, and for Elena Kaliská, who also has two Olympic golds. Both athletes have won numerous World and European Championships.In addition to slalom practice, experienced paddlers can train in kayaks and canoes for running narrow creeks. For the general public, it operates as a family water park with guided raft trips.

Liptó County (Hungarian: Liptó vármegye, Latin: Comitatus Liptoviensis, Slovak: Liptovská župa, German: Komitat Liptau, Polish: Komitat Liptów) was an administrative county (comitatus) of the Kingdom of Hungary. Its territory is now in northern Slovakia.
