Lake Ashnoca is a manmade lake in Buncombe County, North Carolina, near Enka. The lake was created by damming the Ragsdale Creek. It has been designated as trout fishing waters by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.

Crew Factory, Nike Factory Store, RH Outlet, Tommy Hilfiger, Under Armour, and Vera Bradley. Field & Stream did have a store but has since closed at Asheville Outlets and is now a Sportsman's Warehouse.The mall opened in 1989 as Biltmore Square Mall, featuring Hess's, Proffitt's, and Belk; when the original concept of the mall failed, it was reconstructed in 2014 as an outlet mall. On November 13, 2023, it was acquired by Tanger, an open-air shopping mall administrator, for 70 million dollars.

Mount Pisgah Academy is a four-year secondary education boarding and day school located in Candler, North Carolina, United States, near Asheville. The academy is named after the Mount Pisgah of biblical reference as well as its proximity to Mount Pisgah in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the campus lies on 230 acres (93 ha) of property. It was founded in 1914 as a private academy, by E.C. Waller, William Steinman, and C.A. Graves with their families, and originally called the Pisgah Industrial Institute. In 1952, its ownership was transferred to the Carolina Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist church, and it was given its present name. It is a part of the Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second largest Christian school system.The current principal at the academy is Dewald Coetzer.For the 2020-2021 school year, it had an enrollment of 88 students.

Firestorm Books & Coffee is a worker-owned and self-managed "anti-capitalist business" in Asheville, North Carolina. Named after the firestorm, this infoshop operates with an eye on creating a sustainable, radical community event space. Firestorm features regular events, such as film screenings, political and economic teach-ins, local and traveling musicians and community workshops. Firestorm opened in May 2008, spearheaded by co-creators Libertie Valance and is run by an LGBTQ collective.

The North Carolina Arboretum (434 acres (176 ha)) is an arboretum and botanical garden located within the Bent Creek Experimental Forest of the Pisgah National Forest at 100 Frederick Law Olmsted Way, southwest of Asheville, North Carolina near the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is open daily except for Christmas Day. There is no admission charge, but some parking fees do apply. Although the idea for the arboretum stretches back to landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted in 1898, who wished to create an arboretum at the nearby Biltmore Estate, today's arboretum was established by the General Assembly in 1986, as a facility of the University of North Carolina. In 1989 the site was officially designated the North Carolina Arboretum. The arboretum is still under active development. It includes many hiking and bicycling trails, a bonsai collection, a holly garden, and a stream garden. Its tree collection includes a fine set of Metasequoias planted in 1950, and now said to be the tallest in the south (over 100 feet (30 m) in height). In 2016, a certification from Bee Campus USA recognized the arboretum's efforts to teach about and support pollinators.

West Asheville End of Car Line Historic District is a national historic district located at Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 24 contributing buildings in a primarily commercial section of West Asheville. It includes a nearly continuous row of one and two-story brick and concrete block commercial buildings that date from 1916 through the mid-1930s. Their development was influenced by streetcar service along the Haywood Road corridor that operated from 1910 to 1934. Notable buildings include the separately listed Bledsoe Building, along with the Isis Theater (1937), Franklin Building (1923), Pure Oil Station (1947), Wells Building (1917), Palace Theater (1928), Great A&P Tea Company (1926), and West Asheville Post Office (1929).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

In 2018, artist Gus Cutty painted a mural of Dolly Parton on Haywood Road outside Beauty Parade Hair Salon in West Asheville, North Carolina, United States. The portrait replaced another of a girl licking ice cream, and took four days to complete. Cutty modeled the painting after a vintage portrait of the country singer.In 2021, he added a portrait of RuPaul. Prior to the unveiling, salon owner Terra Marshall asked people to guess the identity of the second portrait.
