Lake Ashnoca is a manmade lake in Buncombe County, North Carolina, near Enka. The lake was created by damming the Ragsdale Creek. It has been designated as trout fishing waters by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.

Firestorm Books & Coffee is a worker-owned and self-managed "anti-capitalist business" in Asheville, North Carolina. Named after the firestorm, this infoshop operates with an eye on creating a sustainable, radical community event space. West Asheville End of Car Line Historic District is a national historic district located at Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 24 contributing buildings in a primarily commercial section of West Asheville. It includes a nearly continuous row of one and two-story brick and concrete block commercial buildings that date from 1916 through the mid-1930s. Their development was influenced by streetcar service along the Haywood Road corridor that operated from 1910 to 1934. Notable buildings include the separately listed Bledsoe Building, along with the Isis Theater (1937), Franklin Building (1923), Pure Oil Station (1947), Wells Building (1917), Palace Theater (1928), Great A&P Tea Company (1926), and West Asheville Post Office (1929).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

In 2018, artist Gus Cutty painted a mural of Dolly Parton on Haywood Road outside Beauty Parade Hair Salon in West Asheville, North Carolina, United States. The portrait replaced another of a girl licking ice cream, and took four days to complete. Cutty modeled the painting after a vintage portrait of the country singer.In 2021, he added a portrait of RuPaul. Prior to the unveiling, salon owner Terra Marshall asked people to guess the identity of the second portrait.

Bledsoe Building is a historic commercial building located at Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. It was built in 1927, and is a two-story, trapezoid-shape brick structure. It consists of three distinct sections; a central portion and flanking east and west wings. The building houses many retail services, offices, and residential rentals rooms.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. It is located in the West Asheville End of Car Line Historic District.

Thomas Jarrett House is a historic home located at 46 Louisiana Avenue in Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. It was built in 1894, and is a two-story, frame I-house in the Queen Anne style. It is sheathed in weatherboard and features a two-tiered, lavishly decorated portico.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

WWNC (570 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Asheville, North Carolina. It broadcasts a news/talk radio format and is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. The studios and transmitter are on Summerlin Road in Ashville. WWNC is powered at 5,000 watts. By day, it is non-directional. But at night, to protect other stations on 570 AM from interference, it uses a directional antenna with a four-tower array.

Eliada Home is a national historic district located near Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. The district originally encompassed 10 contributing buildings and 3 contributing sites associated with a youth home complex in suburban Asheville. Of the original 10, only 5 remain. They included the early residential, administrative, and agricultural buildings of the home as well as a residence, a tabernacle site, a log guest cabin, and a cemetery. The primary buildings were the Main Building (built in 1915, but is no longer extant) and the Allred Cottage (1930). The buildings included representative examples of the Colonial Revival, Bungalow, Bungalow/craftsman, and Tudor Revival styles.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.In February 2021, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services ordered Eliada Home to shut down two of its cottages for high-risk teenagers, stating those cottages were "an imminent danger to the health, safety and welfare of the clients and that emergency action is required to protect the clients

The district encompasses 10 contributing buildings in a commercial and institutional section of West Asheville. It includes one and two-story brick civic and commercial buildings, dating from about 1915 to 1936. Their development was influenced by streetcar service along the Haywood Road corridor that operated from 1910 to 1934. Notable buildings contributing to the historic district include the McGeachy Filling Station (c. 1936), Buckner Building (c. 1924), West Asheville Fire Station (1922), Charles B. Aycock School (1953), West Asheville Bank and Trust Company (c. 1927), DeLuxe Barber Shop (1927), and Universal Motors (1928).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.
