The Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya (commonly known as the UM Medical School, FoM UM, UM Medicine or Malaya Medicine) is one of the thirteen faculties of the University of Malaya (UM). It was officially established in September 1962 after the establishment of the university's Kuala Lumpur campus; it was the first medical school established in Malaysia.The faculty is well-known for its medical education and research, especially in the discovery of the Nipah virus (1998–1999 Malaysia Nipah virus outbreak).The faculty is widely regarded as the top medical school in Malaysia, being placed at No. 145 in the world in the subject of Medicine in the QS World University Subject Rankings 2021; this makes it the highest ranked medical school in Malaysia and the third highest in Southeast Asia.

The University of Malaya (Malay: Universiti Malaya; abbreviated as UM) is a public research university located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is the oldest and highest ranking Malaysian institution of higher education according to two international ranking agencies, and also the only university in the post-independent Malaya. The university has graduated four prime ministers of Malaysia, and other political, business, and cultural figures of national prominence. The predecessor of the university, King Edward VII College of Medicine, was established on 28 September 1905 in Singapore, then a territory of the British Empire. In October 1949, the merger of the King Edward VII College of Medicine and Raffles College created the university. Rapid growth during its first decade caused the university to organize as two autonomous divisions on 15 January 1959, one located in Singapore and the other in Kuala Lumpur. In 1960, the government of Malaysia indicated that these two divisions should become autonomous and separate national universities. One branch was located in Singapore, later becoming the National University of Singapore after the independence of Singapore from Malaysia, and the other branch was located in Kuala Lumpur, retaining the name University of Malaya. Legislation was passed in 1961 and the University of Malaya was established on 1 January 1962. In 2012, UM was granted autonomy by the Ministry of Higher Education.Today, UM has more than 2,500 faculty members and is divided into thirteen faculties, two academies, five institutes and six academic centres. In the latest QS World University Rankings, UM is currently ranked 65th in the world, 9th in Asia, 3rd in Southeast Asia and the highest ranked learning institution in Malaysia.The Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, Japanese Language and Linguistic Course was awarded the Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation for their contributions to promotion of Japanese language education in Malaysia on 1 December 2020.

The Museum of Asian Art (Malay: Muzium Seni Asia) is a museum located in the Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The museum is dedicated to showcasing different art forms in various parts of the Asian continent.

The Al-Rahman Mosque (Malay: Masjid Al-Rahman) is a mosque in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The mosque is located at University of Malaya in Jalan Pantai Baharu and was named after the first Malaysian Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj. Today, the mosque is joint managed by University of Malaya and the Department of Federal Territory Islamic Affairs (JAWI).

University of Malaya Specialist Centre (UMSC) is the private arm of the University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), and one of the top private hospitals in Malaysia. It is a tertiary medical centre with super-specialty services located along Jalan Universiti, Petaling Jaya. Established in 1998, UMSC was initially located at UMMC and in 2007 shifted to UMSC's own building. It is adjacent to the largest teaching hospital in Malaysia, UMMC and Malaysia's oldest medical school, the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya founded in 1962 which shares its roots with the National University of Singapore's Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. UMSC is part of an integrated regional healthcare hub with UMMC, The Faculty of Medicine and The Faculty of Dentistry. Consultants from UMMC are permitted to conduct the private specialist clinic in UMSC after their usual consultation hours, and the facilities at UMMC are shared with UMSC.

The Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) (Malay: Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya, abbr: PPUM), formerly known as University Hospital, is a government-funded teaching hospital and medical instructions located in Pantai Dalam, southwest corner of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was established by Statute in September 1962 and is part of Universiti Malaya. It serves as the teaching hospital for the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya and is the largest and oldest teaching hospital in Malaysia. The UMMC is also the second largest hospital in Malaysia.

Universiti is a light rapid transit (LRT) station in Kuala Lumpur served by the Kelana Jaya Line. This station serves the local population of University of Malaya and neighbouring Bangsar South, Pantai Dalam and Pantai Hill Park.

The Kerinchi Pylon is a lattice-steel transmission tower located near Menara Telekom in Kerinchi, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was built by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) in the middle of 1999. At 103 metres (338 ft), the pylon is recorded in the Malaysian Book of Records as the tallest electricity pylon in Southeast Asia. The Kerinchi Pylon differs from other electricity pylons of comparable height, like those of Elbe Crossing 2, because is it not used for a powerline crossing of a wide waterway and that it is just a single structure. It is the tallest strainer pylon in the world, all taller pylons are suspension pylons of long-distance spans.

Kota Darul Ehsan is a row of arches symbolizing the border on Malaysian Federal Highway between the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Malaysian state of Selangor. Erected on Federal Route , it is the biggest arch in Malaysia.

Rimba Ilmu (literally forest of knowledge) is a tropical botanical garden set up by the late Professor W.R. Stanton in 1974 on the campus of the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.The garden has over 1,600 species of plants occupying over 80 hectares. It is populated mainly with indigenous plants species but include many from tropical Asia, the Pacific islands, Australia, South America, Africa and Madagascar. The Malaysian Nature Society maintains an environmental program with the cooperation of the university at the botanical garden since 1997.

The UM Arena Stadium (Malay: Stadium Sains Sukan UM Arena, literally UM Arena Sports Science Stadium) is a stadium located inside the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It holds 1,000 people. The stadium was used in the 2017 SEA Games football tournament and the 2018 AFC U-16 Championship.

Telekom Tower, also known as TM Tower is a 55-story, 310-meter-tall supertall skyscraper in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is Malaysia's fith tallest building, and is shaped to represent a sprouting "bamboo shoot". It is located along the Federal Highway, Sprint Expressway and Jalan Pantai Baharu and is served by the Rapid KL Kerinchi LRT station. It was designed by Hijjas Kasturi Associates and was constructed between 1998 and 2001 by Deawoo Construction. The building was officially opened on 11 February 2003 by the fourth Malaysian Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. It resembles the Bitexco Financial Tower of Ho Chi Minh City (finished in 2010) and the Telecommunications Tower (finished in 2002) in Montevideo. With a series of hanging gardens climbing it, the structure cost over $160 million. The tower has been designed to benefit from its surrounding environment, using its windows, orientation, and air condition system to encourage energy saving.The complex also includes a theatre able to seat a 2,500 audience, a large prayer hall (surau), and a sports facility. A unique feature of the tower is its 22 open sky gardens alternating every three floors. The office floors are separated into north and south wings served by express double-deck elevators. Near the building is Kerinchi Pylon, the tallest electricity pylon in Southeast Asia.
