Wombridge

Wombridge Priory was a small Augustinian monastery in Shropshire. Established in the early 12th century, it was supported by a network of minor nobility and was never a large community. Despite generally good financial management, it fell within the scope of the Suppression of Religious Houses Act 1535 and was dissolved in the following year.

Hollyhurst is an area in the civil parish of Oakengates, near the villages of Trench and Wrockwardine Wood in the Telford and Wrekin borough in Shropshire, England. It is located to the southeast and southwest of the villages and close to Wombridge. Nearby towns include Oakengates, Telford and Wellington. As well as the villages and areas of Hadley, Ketley and Donnington. The area is predominantly residential and close to the A442 road and the Wolverhampton - Shrewsbury Line. The nearest railway station is Oakengates railway station. It also forms part of the Oakengates and Hollyhurst Ward of Oakengates Town Council.

Telford Town Football Club is an English football club from Wellington, Shropshire but currently located in Telford. The club plays in the West Midlands (Regional) League Division One. After many years in the Wellington League, the team was promoted to the Shropshire County Football League. They were promoted to the West Midlands (Regional) League in 2006. "The Ams" won Division One three times in four seasons and gained promotion to the Premier Division for 2012–13. In 2024 the club was taken over by businessman and former Hednesford Town owner Hayden Dando and renamed Telford Town Football Club.

Telford Priory School is a coeducational secondary school located in the Wrockwardine Wood area of Telford in Shropshire, England. The school opened in September 2015 in a new campus, following the merger of Wrockwardine Wood Arts Academy (formerly Wrockwardine Wood Secondary School) and Sutherland Co-operative Academy. The school is sponsored by the Community Academies Trust.The school facilities include full size 3G Astro with the leisure centre next door holding a 400m athletics track, sports hall, 2 netball courts, fitness suite, dance studio and is located next to an indoor tennis centre and 4 outdoor courts. Elina Pagett famously attended Wrockwardine Wood - the precursor to Telford Priory School.

Trench is a suburb of Telford in the borough of Telford and Wrekin and ceremonial county of Shropshire, England. It is to the north of the town and north of town of Oakengates.

Oakengates is a constituent town of Telford and a civil parish in the borough of Telford and Wrekin, Shropshire, England. The towns parish population was recorded as 8,517 in the 2001 census.

Wrockwardine Wood (pronounced "Rock-war-dine") was originally a detached piece of woodland, then a township, formerly belonging to the manor and parish of Wrockwardine. Wrockwardine is located approximately 7 miles west from Wrockwardine Wood. Wrockwardine Wood is located in north east Telford in Shropshire and is bordered by Donnington, St Georges, Trench, The Nabb and Oakengates. The local government parish of Wrockwardine Wood and Trench comprises most of the Church of England parish of Wrockwardine Wood. In the eighteenth century industrial revolution Wrockwardine Wood was inhabited by coal and iron mine workers and their families. So many people had become Primitive Methodists that the Church of England set up a new parish in 1833 and built a very attractive red brick church (Holy Trinity). The 2 Methodist chapels recently closed, being replaced by Oakengates United Church (Methodist and United Reformed Church.)Wrockwardine Wood & Trench Parish Council has a Labour Party majority.

Trench Crossing railway station was a station in Trench, Shropshire, England. The station was opened in 1854 and closed in 1964. The line was lifted following closure but was relaid in the late 2000s as a single track to serve the Telford International Freight Park at Donnington.

Oakengates railway station serves the town of Oakengates, Telford and Wrekin, Shropshire, England. It has two platforms. Rail services are primarily provided by West Midlands Trains seven days a week with Transport for Wales providing a service on late evenings through the week, and a limited service on Sundays. Avanti West Coast do not currently call at Oakengates station. Between Oakengates and Telford Central is the Oakengates Tunnel.

Oakengates Market Street railway station was a station in Oakengates, Shropshire, England. The station was opened in 1860 and closed in 1952. The station was demolished after closure and the site is now occupied by the A442.

Beveley is a former hamlet straddling the boundaries of Ketley and Oakengates in the Telford and Wrekin borough in Shropshire, England. It is located to the northeast of Ketley and close to Hadley Manor and Red Lake. Nearby places include the towns of Oakengates, Telford and Wellington. and the villages and areas of Hadley and Wombridge. The area is predominantly residential and close to the Wolverhampton–Shrewsbury line and woodlands. Part of the former Roman road Watling Street passes through the centre of Beveley. Although, this is now mostly bypassed by the nearby M54 motorway between Wellington and Shrewsbury. The Victoria County History of Shropshire reports that there was settlement called Stanebrook along Watling Street in 1447, "on the site of the modern Beveley", and that "There were probably miners' cottages along the road by the late 17th century". Beveley was described in Cassie's 1871 History, Gazetteer and Directory of Shropshire as "a small hamlet adjoining Ketley, partly in Wellington parish and partly in Wombridge". Beveley ward elects one member to Ketley parish council. The ward is bounded by the railway to the north, and the B4373 to the east, and partly by the B5061 road to the south. It elects three of the eleven members of the parish council.
