KIXL (970 AM) is a Catholic talk radio station in Del Valle, Texas, United States, broadcasting to the Austin-Round Rock area of Texas. KIXL is a Relevant Radio owned-and-operated station and has been since 2005; prior to Relevant Radio, KIXL was a locally programmed Christian station for nearly 30 years.

Lake Walter E. Long (also known as Decker Lake) is a power plant cooling reservoir on Decker Creek in Austin, Texas. The reservoir was officially impounded in 1967 and serves to provide water for turbines used in the production of electricity from petroleum-based fuels. The dam and the lake are managed by the City of Austin. Surrounding Lake Walter E. Long is the city of Austin's Lake Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park, a popular recreational destination.

Manor New Technology High School (commonly known as MNTHS or Manor New Tech) is a public secondary school in Manor, Texas, United States. The school is part of the Manor Independent School District (MISD). Serving freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors, with an admissions system based on a lottery system. Three middle schools feed into Manor New Tech: Manor Middle School, Decker Middle School and Manor New Technology Middle School. The school colors are navy blue, silver, and white. The mascot is the Titans.

The Luedecke Arena is a 6,400-seat multi-purpose arena on the grounds of the Travis County Exposition Center in Austin, Texas. Built in 1983, the arena is home to the Star of Texas Fair & Rodeo, the Republic of Texas Biker Rally and the Austin Power indoor soccer team. The arena was formerly home to the Austin Ice Bats ice hockey team from 1996 to 2006. It was also home to four indoor football teams: the Texas Terminators of the IPFL in 1999, the Austin Knights/Rockers in 2002 and 2003, the Austin Turfcats in 2009 and 2010, and the Austin Wild in 2018 and 2019. Depending on configuration, the arena floor can be configured to seat up to an additional 3,000 for a variety of events.

Harris Branch is an urban creek in northeast Austin, Texas, United States. It is part of the watershed of Gilleland Creek, which ultimately drains into the Colorado River. The creek flows through a rapidly urbanizing area of Travis County and has been affected by development-related water quality issues, including notable industrial spills in 2021 and 2022.

Manor ( MAY-nər) is a city in Travis County, Texas, United States. Manor is located 12 miles northeast of Austin and is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. The population was 13,652 at the 2020 census. Manor is one of the faster-growing suburbs of Austin. The city was the seventh fastest growing suburb in America in 2018 by Realtor.com and the 17th best small suburb to live in by U.S. News and World Report in 2019.

Manor Downs was a horse racetrack located outside Manor, Texas, United States. It was Texas' oldest pari-mutuel horse racetrack. Live racing in the spring featured both quarter horse and thoroughbred racing. Simulcast racing was also available. Frances Carr and Sam Cutler began development of Manor Downs in 1975 on 44 acres (180,000 m2) of land that had an old horse race track on it. They initially planned for Manor Downs to be a horse-training stable and fairground facility. Manor Downs originally hosted just quarter-horse racing; but when pari-mutuel betting was legalized, the track was later upgraded for thoroughbred racing in order to qualify for a pari-mutuel license. Manor Downs was licensed as a class 2 racetrack in Texas. A class 2 racetrack is a racetrack on which racing is conducted for no more than 44 days in a calendar year. Manor Downs has also been the site for concerts through the years including Farm Aid 2 and the Grateful Dead. As horse racing's popularity waned with the slow economy of the Great Recession, Manor Downs ceased operations in late July 2010 rather than continue losing money.

The Big Walnut Creek Nature Preserve, or simply Walnut Creek Preserve, is a 47-acre (19 ha) nature preserve located in northeast Austin, Texas in the United States.

Lyndon Baines Johnson (LBJ) Early College High School is a public high school in northeast Austin, Texas. At the time of its opening in 1974, LBJ was only the second high school in the U.S. (after the former Johnson City High School) to be named for the 36th President. In 1985, LBJ became the host of a new academic magnet program, the Science Academy of Austin (SA), which drew students from all over the city. A second high school magnet program, the Liberal Arts Academy of Austin (LAA), was opened at Albert Sidney Johnston High School in 1987; the two programs were merged in 2002, forming the Liberal Arts and Science Academy (LASA) magnet within LBJ. In 2007, the Austin Independent School District split LASA and LBJ into separate high schools with their own principals, faculty, and staff in order for LBJ to be eligible for a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to implement the "First Things First" educational enrichment program. After the split, LBJ and LASA were housed on the same campus (though largely on different floors) and continued to share athletic teams and certain extracurricular activities and electives (band, theater, newspaper, yearbook, choir, orchestra, etc.) until LASA's relocation. In 2011, via a partnership with the Austin Community College, LBJ established a new program through which students could earn up to 60 college credits while still in high school, earning it the "Early College High School" (ECHS) designation it bears today. In 2021, LASA relocated to the former Eastside Memorial Early College High School campus. LBJ Early College High School's mascot is the Jaguar, and the school's colors are purple and white. The principal of LBJ Early College High School is Jon Bailey. Patrick Patterson, who had been at the school since the 2004-2005 school year as part of the high school campus redesign program initiated to help raise TAKS scores, retired after the 2009-2010 school year. As a result of the split, LASA and LBJ are required to have separate principals. From 2007 to 2021, the school occupied the first floor of its campus, while LASA was on the second floor. Melissa B. Taboada of the Austin American-Statesman stated that some members of the Austin community "say the division [was] a constant blemish on the campus".

Walnut Creek is a 23-mile (37 km) long tributary stream of the Colorado River in Texas. It flows from north to south, crossing the Edwards Plateau on the western side of Austin, down to the Blackland Prairie on the eastern side of the city where it then drains into the Colorado River downstream of Longhorn Dam. The stream's upper region flows over limestone, while the southern stretch passes through deeper clay soils and hardwood forest. Walnut Creek's watershed, spanning 36,000 acres (15,000 ha), is the largest in Central Austin.The creek can be accessed at several local parks, most notably Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park and Balcones District Park.
