Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital (abbreviated as OLLH) is a private non-profit tertiary hospital with 230-bed capacity located in Santa Mesa, Manila, in the Philippines. It is a part of the East Manila Hospital Managers Corporation, a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation. Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital was founded in 1958 by the Missionary Sisters Servants of the Holy Spirit congregation through Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Inc., a non-stock, non-profit corporation. The hospital is currently managed by Metro Pacific Investments Corporation after the OLLHI agreed on a 20-year lease starting on November 2010.

Victorino Mapa Street, also known by its short form V. Mapa Street, is the main north–south road in the district of Santa Mesa in Manila, Philippines. The street, including its eastern extension, runs for 1.6 kilometers (0.99 mi) from the junction with Magsaysay Boulevard in the north to Pat Antonio Street in the southeast by the San Juan River that serves as the district's border with San Juan and Mandaluyong. It is home to Don Bosco School, Manila, Unciano Colleges and General Hospital, and several new condominiums and a few motels. A portion of the street forms part of Radial Road 5 (R-5) of Manila's arterial road network where it links with Padre Sanchez Street (named after Jesuit priest Francisco de Paula Sanchez from the Ateneo Municipal de Manila) and eventually connects to Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong. It is served by V. Mapa LRT Station along Magsaysay Boulevard. Its section from its northern terminus at Magsaysay Boulevard to Valenzuela Street is designated as part of National Route 183 (N183), while its section from Valenzuela Street to P. Sanchez Street is designated as part of National Route 141 (N141); both numbered routes are part of the Philippine highway system. The rest of the route up to Pat Antonio Street is an unnumbered street.

STI-NAMEI, formerly the NAMEI Polytechnic Institute, is a private school in Manila, Philippines. It was established by Don Felix B. The San Juan River Bridge (Filipino: Tulay ng Ilog San Juan), also known as Pinaglabanan Bridge, San Juan del Monte Bridge, San Juan Bridge and the Old Santa Mesa Bridge, is a bridge that connects San Juan and Manila, spanning the San Juan River. The 46.85-meter (153.7 ft) bridge connects the N. Domingo Street in San Juan and Old Santa Mesa Street in Manila. The location of the bridge served as a battlefield during the 1896 Philippine Revolution against the Spaniards and the 1899 Philippine–American War. On, January 29, 1899, Colonel Luciano San Miguel, Filipino Commander had his first meeting with Colonel John M. Stotsenburg, Commander of the First Nebraska Volunteers on this bridge to discuss the boundaries of their respective forces. On February 4, 1899, an encounter between the Filipino and American forces led to a shooting incident and sparked the Battle of Manila.On February 5, 2009, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines installed a historical marker on San Juan River Bridge commemorating its role to the start of the Battle of Manila.

Don Bosco Technical College also referred to by its acronym DBTC or Don Bosco Mandaluyong is a private Catholic basic and higher education institution run by the Salesians of the Society of Saint John Bosco in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, Philippines. Established in 1953 by the Salesians, it is the first Don Bosco Educational Center in Metro Manila. Don Bosco Mandaluyong offers co-educational primary (elementary) and secondary education (junior high school), co-educational senior high school and college (tertiary education), night school (alternative learning system), and vocational training for out-of-school youth. The college department was formerly exclusive for males until 2004, when the department started accepting female students. DBTC has been starting to accept female students in SY 2020–2021. Following the nationwide implementation of K-12, DBTC implemented the co-educational senior high school program in 2016. V. Mapa station is a station on the Manila Light Rail Transit System Line 2. It is one of the many elevated stations that can be found on the line and also one of the four stations in the line with a reserve track nearby (in front of the UERMMC) together with Santolan, Anonas and Araneta Center–Cubao. The station during its inception was formerly called as "G. Araneta Station" but was renamed into the current name due to the minor realignment of some stations (the other being Betty Go-Belmonte) that has caused the change of proximity to the V. Mapa Street. The station serves the areas of Santa Mesa, Manila, Quezon City, and San Juan. The station is located at Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard, near its intersection with Victorino Mapa Street in Santa Mesa, Manila. The station is the tenth station for trains headed to Recto and the fourth station for trains headed to Antipolo. The station has a standard layout, with a concourse level and a platform level. The concourse is below the platform, with stairs, escalators, and elevators leading up to the platform level. The levels are separated by fare gates. The station is also sometimes referred to as Santa Mesa Station. It is named after its location near the junction with V. Mapa Street, which was in turn named after Victorino Mapa, the second Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines.

José Rizal University (formerly José Rizal College or JRC), also referred to by its acronym JRU is a private non-sectarian, non-stock coeducational secondary and tertiary educational institution located at Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong, Philippines. It was founded in 1919 by Don Vicente Fabella, the Philippines' first certified accountant. José Rizal University is one of the schools situated in the east side of Mandaluyong, the others being Arellano University – Plaridel Campus and Don Bosco Technical College.

The San Juan River is one of the main river systems in Metro Manila, Philippines, and is a major tributary of the Pasig River. It begins near La Mesa Dam as the San Francisco del Monte River, which officially takes the name San Juan River when it meets with Mariblo Creek in Quezon City. As the San Juan River, it passes through Quezon City, San Juan, the Manila district of Santa Mesa and Santa Ana, and Mandaluyong.Right-of-way issues caused the realignment of the Santa Mesa portion of the Skyway Stage 3. Instead of passing through Old Santa Mesa Street, the expressway now follows the course of the San Juan River from Araneta Avenue to Pasig River.
