Lathrop High School, located in Lathrop, California, is a secondary school in the Manteca Unified School District. Its doors opened on August 11, 2008. LHS is known as the "Home of the Spartans".

Lathrop is a city located 9 miles (14 km) south of Stockton in San Joaquin County, California, United States. The 2020 United States Census reported that Lathrop's population was 28,701. The city is located in the San Joaquin Valley in Northern California at the intersection of Interstate 5 and California State Route 120.

River Islands at Lathrop is a planned community on a 4,800-acre (7.5 sq mi; 1,900 ha) site in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta in Lathrop, California, United States. As of 2018, approximately 800 homes of the first-phase of 4,284 houses had been built.

Lathrop/Manteca station is a train station in southern Lathrop, California on the edge of the San Francisco Bay Area. The station is served by commuter Altamont Corridor Express (ACE) trains between San Jose and Stockton. The station is located on rail tracks and a rail yard that is on land that was once a turkey farm. It is three miles (4.8 km) from Lathrop and one and a half miles (2.4 km) from Manteca to the east, a location chosen to draw commuters from both cities. Passengers board trains headed west to job centers in the San Francisco Bay Area. The station was studied to be relocated further south as part of the ACEforward project, but this concept was eliminated from consideration.The station only has limited bus service, timed to trains. The Stanislaus Regional Transit Authority operates the Modesto ACE Express between the station and the Vintage Faire Mall Park & Ride lot and Manteca Transit operates the ACE Shuttle between the station and the city's transit center.

California Chicory Works site is a historical site in Stockton, California in San Joaquin County. California Chicory Works site is a California Historical Landmark No. 935, listed on September 30, 1980. In 1885, C. A. Bachmann and Charles H. W. Brandt formed a partnership and built the largest chicory plant in America by the 1890s. At the California Chicory Works, chicory roots were roasted and grounded on the finest German machinery and mills. The chicory root was often mixed with coffee or used alone for a tea hot drink. At its peak California Chicory Works purchase a cargo ship the Dora to ship its product to the east coast and other ports. The mill was on and powered by the San Joaquin River. The market dropped in about 1911 and the plant closed shortly after.The California Chicory Works was located on 1672 W Bowman Road in French Camp, California, The site is now the River Mill. A California Historical marker is there placed by the by State Department of Parks and Recreation and San Joaquin County Historical Society in 1981. The River MillCalifornia Chicory Works building was sold to its current owner, The River Mill, in 1972. In the 1990s the building had extensive renovations. The The River Mill is now rented as: a Convention center, social center, business meeting spot, special occasions site, wedding site and wedding reception site with 18,000 square feet of space .

The Manteca Waterslides was a water park that existed in the Central Valley town of Manteca, California from 1974 to 2004. Founded by R.H. "Budge" Brown, the park enjoyed status as one of the better waterparks in the United States and had easy access to Interstate 5 located at the Oakwood Lake Resort & R.V. Campground. It was familiar to central valley park-goers for its massive drop-down slide "V-Max". In the summer of 2004, it was announced that the park would be closed. The owners of the park cited high workers' compensation and health care costs as reasons for the park's closure in September 2004. As of April 2008, the site of the old waterpark lies underwater due to the expansion of Oakwood Lake and the surrounding land is being proposed for development which would provide housing for, among other people, commuters to the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2010, there was talk of a developer buying the land bringing back the water park. Manteca Waterslides was home to Oakwood Lake Amphitheatre, a venue primarily used for concerts.

The Stewart Tract is an island in the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta. It is part of San Joaquin County, California, and managed by Reclamation District 2062. Its coordinates are 37°48′13″N 121°20′53″W, and the United States Geological Survey measured its elevation as 13 ft (4.0 m) in 1981.

Central Valley Baptist Church is a baptist church located in Manteca, California; centered in between the cities of Stockton and Modesto. Along with the English-language auditorium, the church also houses a Spanish-language ministry, which is sometimes named Iglesia Bautista del Valle Central, other ministries include Filipino-language, Singles, Young Married Couples, Bus/Shuttle, Nursing Home, Youth, and Teen.

Sierra High School is a high school in Manteca, California, opened in August 1994. It is a Microsoft showcase school.

French Camp (from Campo de los Franceses, Spanish for "Field of the Frenchmen") is an unincorporated community in San Joaquin County, California, United States. The population was 3,770 as of the 2020 census. Up from 3,376 at the 2010 census, and down from 4,109 at the 2000 census. For statistical purposes, the United States Census Bureau has defined French Camp as a census-designated place (CDP). The census definition of the area may not precisely correspond to local understanding of the area with the same name. French Camp is the location of the U.S. Army Sharpe Depot and the GSA Western Distribution Center, and is the oldest settlement in San Joaquin County. San Joaquin General Hospital is located in French Camp. It is also the location of the county jail, the county juvenile hall and the county children's shelter, which combine to form a sizable percentage of the place's population.

East Union High School (EUHS) is a secondary school located in northwestern Manteca, California. The school first opened in 1964 with a population of 514 students, 26 staff members and four counselors. As of 2005, East Union High School enrolls over 1,600 students annually.

San Joaquin General Hospital is a 196-bed public teaching hospital located within the San Joaquin County area of French Camp, California, United States. San Joaquin General Hospital, funded by San Joaquin County, originally established in 1857, is a general acute care facility providing a full range of inpatient services including General Medical/Surgical Care, High-Risk Obstetrics and Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatrics and Acute Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The hospital is the only trauma center serving the 700,000 residents of San Joaquin County. San Joaquin General Hospital is also a primary stroke center and the county's EMS base station. The county's EMS administrative and education facility is immediately adjacent to the hospital. The hospital offers physician residencies in family medicine, internal medicine, and general surgery. The physician residencies are affiliated with the University of California, Davis School of Medicine. The hospital also has a pharmacy residency program, and is a teaching site for the University of the Pacific School of Pharmacy.
