Lathrop/Manteca station
Lathrop/Manteca station is a train station in southern Lathrop, California on the edge of the San Francisco Bay Area. The station is served by commuter Altamont Corridor Express (ACE) trains between San Jose and Stockton. The station is located on rail tracks and a rail yard that is on land that was once a turkey farm. It is three miles (4.8 km) from Lathrop and one and a half miles (2.4 km) from Manteca to the east, a location chosen to draw commuters from both cities. Passengers board trains headed west to job centers in the San Francisco Bay Area. The station was studied to be relocated further south as part of the ACEforward project, but this concept was eliminated from consideration. The station only has limited bus service, timed to trains. The Stanislaus Regional Transit Authority operates the Modesto ACE Express between the station and the Vintage Faire Mall Park & Ride lot and Manteca Transit operates the ACE Shuttle between the station and the city's transit center.
