The station was opened on 15 December 1999.From 23 April to 28 June 2020, the station was temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Mexico.

Western Airlines Flight 2605, nicknamed the "Night Owl", was an international scheduled passenger flight from Los Angeles, California, to Mexico City, Mexico. On October 31, 1979, at 5:42 a.m. CST (UTC−06:00), the McDonnell Douglas DC-10 operating the flight crashed at Mexico City International Airport in fog after landing on a runway that was closed for maintenance. Of the 89 people on board, 72 were killed, in addition to a maintenance worker who died when the plane struck his vehicle.Flight 2605 remains the deadliest air accident to have occurred in Mexico City. The event is the third-deadliest aviation accident to occur on Mexican soil after the crashes of two Boeing 727s: the 1969 crash of Mexicana de Aviación Flight 704 and Mexicana de Aviación Flight 940 in 1986. The crash was one of three fatal DC-10 accidents in 1979, having occurred just over five months after the crash of American Airlines Flight 191 at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport and less than a month before the crash of Air New Zealand Flight 901 on Mount Erebus in Antarctica.

Mexico City International Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto Internacional de la Ciudad de México, AICM); officially Aeropuerto Internacional Benito Juárez (Benito Juárez International Airport) (IATA: MEX, ICAO: MMMX) is the main international airport serving Greater Mexico City, since 2022 together with the much smaller Felipe Ángeles International Airport ("AIFA").. It is Mexico's and Latin America's busiest airport by passenger traffic and aircraft movements, and the 33rd busiest in the world. The airport sustains 35,000 jobs directly and around 15,000 indirectly in the immediate area. The airport is owned by Grupo Aeroportuario de la Ciudad de México and operated by Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares, the government-owned corporation, which also operates 22 other airports throughout Mexico.This airport is served by 30 domestic and international passenger airlines and 17 cargo carriers. As the main hub for Mexico's largest airline Aeroméxico (with Aeroméxico Connect), the airport has become a SkyTeam hub. It is also a hub for Aeromar and Volaris and a focus city for VivaAerobús. On a typical day, more than 136,000 passengers pass through the airport to and from more than 100 destinations on four continents. In 2020, the airport handled 21,981,711 passengers, and 36,056,614 in 2021.

Oceanía (Spanish pronunciation ; Spanish lit. transl. "Oceania") is a transfer station of the Mexico City Metro in Venustiano Carranza, Mexico City. It is a combined elevated and at-grade station, along Lines 5 (the Yellow Line) and B (the Green-and-Gray Line). Oceanía is located between Aragón and Terminal Aérea stations on Line 5, and between Deportivo Oceanía and Romero Rubio stations on Line B. It serves the colonias of Pensador Mexicano and Aquiles Serdán. The station is named after Oceanía Avenue and its pictogram depicts a kangaroo, a representative animal from Oceania. Oceanía station opened on 19 December 1981 with service northward toward Consulado and southeastward toward Pantitlán on Line 5. West service on Line B toward Buenavista and northeast toward Villa de Aragón started on 15 December 1999. The station facilities are partially accessible for people with disabilities as there are tactile pavings and braille signage plates. Since it was opened, Oceanía station has had some incidents, including two fake bomb threats and a train crash, where one person indirectly died and twelve others resulted injured. In 2019, the station had an overall average daily ridership of 18,953 passengers.

The 31st federal electoral district of the Federal District (Distrito electoral federal 31 del Distrito Federal) is a defunct federal electoral district of Mexico. Occupying a portion of what is today Mexico City, it was in existence from 1978 to 1996. During that time, it returned one deputy to the Chamber of Deputies for each three-year legislative session by means of the first-past-the-post system, electing its first in the 1979 mid-terms and its last in the 1994 general election. Votes cast in the district also counted towards the calculation of proportional representation ("plurinominal") deputies elected from the country's electoral regions. The 31st to 40th districts were abolished in the Federal Electoral Institute's 1996 redistricting process because the capital's population no longer warranted that number of seats in Congress.

Ecatepec (until August 25, 2008, called Tecnológico) is a station on Line B of the Mexico City Metro system. It is in the Ecatepec de Morelos city in the State of Mexico adjacent to Mexico City. The station opened on November 30, 2000, under its original name, Metro Tecnológico. The station's icon was the emblem of the Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Ecatepec, whose facilities are located nearby. On 23 July 2008, Francisco Bojórquez Hernández, director of the Sistema de Transporte Colectivo Metro, and José Luis Gutiérrez Cureño, Ecatepec's municipal president, established an agreement to improve the security, quality, and efficacy of the services at the station. As part of their agreement, they decided to change the name and iconography of the station. On August 25, 2008, Metro Tecnológico was renamed Metro Ecatepec, after the neighborhood where it is located. The updated station logo shows a Mexica based icon of Ehecatépetl a mountain whose top is the god of wind Ehecatl.
