James A. Garfield High School is a public high school in the Seattle Public Schools district of Seattle, Washington, United States. It is named after James A. Garfield, the 20th President of the United States. Located along 23rd Avenue between E. Alder and E. Jefferson Streets in Seattle's urban Central District, Garfield draws students from all over the city. Garfield is also one of two options for the district's Highly Capable Cohort for academically highly gifted students, with the other being Ingraham International School. As a result, the school offers many college-level classes, ranging from calculus-based physics to Advanced Placement (AP) studio art.

The People's Wall on 20th Avenue just south of Spruce Street in the Central District / Squire Park neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, U.S., is a mural that was commissioned in 1969 by the Seattle chapter of the Black Panther Party (BPP) and painted in 1970 by artist Dion Henderson.

The Douglass-Truth Branch is a library building and Seattle Public Library branch in Seattle, Washington, United States. Named after Frederick Douglass and Sojourner Truth, the library houses the West Coast's largest collection of African-American literature and history.Soul Pole was donated to the library by the Rotary Boys Club in 1972, and was restored in 2021 before reinstallation in 2022.

Fire Station No. 23 is a former fire station located in the Central District of Seattle, Washington listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was remodelled as the Cherry Hill Community Center in 1970, and served as the headquarters of Centerstone (formerly the Central Area Motivational Program, or CAMP).

Cherry Hill is a predominantly residential area in Seattle, Washington located south of Capitol Hill within the Central District, north of the International District, and east of First Hill. Cherry Hill is bound on the west by 14th Avenue, on the east by 23rd Avenue, on the north by East Madison Street and on the south by East Yesler Way. Squire Park is a neighborhood in the city of Seattle, in the U.S. state of Washington. According to the Squire Park Community Council, it is bounded on the south by S. Jackson Street, on the west by 12th Avenue and 12th Avenue S., on the north by E. Union Street, and on the east by 23rd Avenue and 23rd Avenue S., placing it within the Central District. Its main thoroughfares are E. Jefferson and Cherry Streets and E. Yesler Way (east- and west-bound) and 14th Avenue (north- and south-bound). Swedish Medical Center's Cherry Hill campus is located here, Seattle University, a Jesuit University has part of its campus in Squire Park, as the Admissions, some dormitories and Athletics departments are east of 12th Avenue. Squire Park overlaps considerably with Cherry Hill, Seattle, although Squire Park boundaries are shifted slightly southwards, with the northern boundary at E. Union Street rather than E. Madison Street, and the southern boundary at S. Jackson Street rather than Yesler Way. Squire Park is named after Watson Squire, who was a Washington territory governor, Washington state's first US Senator, and owner of much of the original neighborhood land in a parcel bounded by 12th and 20th Avenues and Cherry and Alder Streets. This parcel was platted by Squire in 1890 and acquired by the city of Seattle in 1891.

The Seattle Vocational Institute is a constituent institution of Seattle Central College, a public community college in Seattle, Washington. It was founded as the Washington Institute of Applied Technology in 1987 and took its present name in 1991. It is located in the Central District.

Raised Doughnuts and Cakes is a bakery and doughnut shop in Seattle's Central District, in the U.S. state of Washington. Baker and owner Mi Kim launched the business as a pop-up in 2017, with her business partner I-Miun Liu. Raised relocated to a brick and mortar shop in mid 2018, and has since moved to the Midtown Square development.

Feed Co. Burgers is a restaurant in Seattle's Central District, in the U.S. state of Washington. Previously a small chain of restaurants, the business originally operated in Redmond and has also operated in the Green Lake neighborhood. The current restaurant opened in October 2016, and the Redmond location closed in 2018. Feed Co. has garnered a positive reception and has been featured on the Food Network.

Communion Restaurant and Bar, or simply Communion, is a restaurant in Central District, Seattle, in the U.S. state of Washington.

Fat's Chicken and Waffles is a primarily Southern and soul food restaurant in Seattle's Central District, in the U.S. state of Washington. Marcus Lalario opened the restaurant in 2015, in a space which previously housed Catfish Corner. Erika White later became a co-owner. The menu has included chicken and waffles, fried okra, shrimp and grits, red beans and rice, collard greens, cornbread, fried green tomatoes, and macaroni and cheese, as well as biscuits and gravy and eggs Benedict for brunch. Fat's has garnered a positive reception, especially for its fried chicken, and is considered one of the city's best Southern and brunch eateries. The exterior features a mural by James Crespinel depicting Martin Luther King Jr., which was originally painted in 1995 and later restored by the artist twice.
