Blanche Lavizzo Park

The Seattle Vocational Institute is a constituent institution of Seattle Central College, a public community college in Seattle, Washington. It was founded as the Washington Institute of Applied Technology in 1987 and took its present name in 1991. It is located in the Central District.

Jackson's Catfish Corner (originally Catfish Corner) is a family-owned Southern restaurant in Seattle's Central District, in the U.S. state of Washington. Woodrow (Woody) and Rosemary (Rosie) Jackson opened Catfish Corner in the Central District in 1985. After selling the business to friends in 2009, the restaurant closed in 2014. The Jacksons' grandson Terrell and his wife Rachel reopened and rebranded the restaurant in 2015. Jackson's Catfish corner had a brick and mortar in Rainier Valley, before relocating and operating in the Central District again from 2016 to 2018. Jackson's Catfish Corner reopened at 23rd and South Jackson Street in 2021. The Black-owned business has a catfish-dominant menu which has included gumbo, hushpuppies, prawns, and other seafood and soul food options such as fish and chips, coleslaw, collard greens, sweet potatoes, and rice and beans. Jackson's Catfish Corner has garnered a positive reception.

Seattle Fish Guys is a fish market and restaurant in Seattle's Central District, in the U.S. state of Washington. Desiree Chinn and Sal Panelo started the business in 2016. Seattle Fish Guys has garnered a positive reception, especially for its poke, and is considered among the city''s best seafood establishments.

Pratt Fine Arts Center is a non-profit arts education and resource center in the Squire Park area of Seattle's Central District. The center employs 155 teaching artists and conducts more than 600 classes annually. Pratt was founded in 1976 by the Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation and named in honor of slain civil rights leader Edwin T. Pratt. In 1982 it was turned over to a newly created 501(c)(3) non-profit, City Art Works. Since then, Pratt has grown into a nearly $3 million annual budget. With an average class size of 6.5 students, the school had 4,335 total class registrations in 2019. Pratt includes facilities for glassblowing, lampworking, glass beadmaking, flameworked glass, metal sculpture, bronze casting, stone carving, jewelry and metalsmithing, woodworking, printmaking, painting and drawing. The Center has 14 studios across three buildings: the main building in Pratt Park (also named after Edwin Pratt) and two additional buildings in the block immediately south of the park. The latter two were originally part of the adjacent now empty Wonder Bread bakery. Programs include adult and youth education (including free Saturday programs for youth), master artist intensives and visiting artist programs, and studio access programs for working artists. In 2019, Pratt served 960 youth and teens through education programs and granted 139 new independent artists access to its studios.

The Douglass-Truth Branch is a library building and Seattle Public Library branch in Seattle, Washington, United States. Named after Frederick Douglass and Sojourner Truth, the library houses the West Coast's largest collection of African-American literature and history.Soul Pole was donated to the library by the Rotary Boys Club in 1972, and was restored in 2021 before reinstallation in 2022.

Pratt Park is a public park operated by Seattle Parks and Recreation, in the U.S. state of Washington. Named after Edwin T. Pratt, the founder of the Central Area Motivation Program and the Seattle Opportunities Industrialization Center, it has basketball courts, a playground, and a spray park. The park has also hosted art installations and musical performances.

The People's Wall on 20th Avenue just south of Spruce Street in the Central District / Squire Park neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, U.S., is a mural that was commissioned in 1969 by the Seattle chapter of the Black Panther Party (BPP) and painted in 1970 by artist Dion Henderson.

James A. Garfield High School is a public high school in the Seattle Public Schools district of Seattle, Washington, United States. It is named after James A. Garfield, the 20th President of the United States. Located along 23rd Avenue between E. Alder and E. Jefferson Streets in Seattle's urban Central District, Garfield draws students from all over the city. Garfield is also one of two options for the district's Highly Capable Cohort for academically highly gifted students, with the other being Ingraham International School. As a result, the school offers many college-level classes, ranging from calculus-based physics to Advanced Placement (AP) studio art.

Temple Pastries is a bakery in Seattle's Central District, in the U.S. state of Washington. Christina Wood started the business as a pop-up in 2018, and relocated to a brick-and-mortar restaurant in partnership with Broadcast Coffee Roasters in 2020.
