The Tookes House (also known as the Tookes Hotel) is a historic 11 bedroom home in Tallahassee, Florida, United States. It is located at 412 West Virginia Street. On January 26, 2001, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The Tookes Hotel (also referred to as Tookes Villa) was founded in 1948 by Dorothy Nash Tookes to accommodate black visitors to Tallahassee who could not seek lodging at other segregated establishments. Four rooms were added in 1948, two in the early 1950s and three in 1971. Tookes was the first certified teacher in Leon County, founder and first principal of the Bond School.

The Tallahassee Female Academy (also known as the Leon Female Academy) was one of the predecessor institutions of Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. The school started in 1843 as the Misses Bates School and was perhaps the most stable educational institution in Tallahassee until the West Florida Seminary officially began operations in 1857. They were remedies for the fact that at the time there were no public high schools in Florida. Male and female students studied separately. A group of Tallahassee citizens organized as a board of trustees for the academy conducted operations until the school was absorbed by the West Florida Seminary in 1858. The school offered an unusually complete education for the time.

Florida State University College of Law is the law school of Florida State University located in Tallahassee, Florida. The law school borders the southeast quadrant of the University's campus, near the Donald L. Tucker Center, an arena and part of the Tallahassee civic center area. The College of Law campus consists of four major buildings, four historic houses around a green and five parking lots. It occupies two full city blocks and is directly across the street from the Florida Supreme Court and one block from the Florida Legislature. The school's most recent addition is its 50,000-square-foot Advocacy Center, which includes five courtrooms. According to Florida State University's 2016 ABA-required disclosures, 72.6% of the Class of 2015 obtained full-time, long-term, bar passage required employment ten months after graduation. According to those same disclosures, 81.7% of the Class of 2015 obtained full-time, long-term, bar passage required jobs or JD preferred positions within ten months of graduation.

The Columns (also known as The William "Money" Williams Mansion) is a historic home in Tallahassee, Florida. It was built around 1830. It is located at 100 North Duval Street. On May 21, 1975, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The building is the present home of the James Madison Institute. It is a former home of Benjamin Chaires.

The Florida State University College of Music, located in Tallahassee, Florida, is one of sixteen colleges comprising Florida State University. The college houses two Grammy winners, a former concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic, a Pulitzer Prize-winning composer, a former leading tenor of the Metropolitan Opera, and the world's leading scholar in music therapy. As the third-largest music program in higher education, the college's comprehensive curricula embrace all traditional areas of music and world music study from the baccalaureate to the doctoral level.

First Presbyterian Church is an historic church in Tallahassee, Florida. It is located at 102 North Adams Street. The congregation was first organized on November 4, 1832, and the church building was built between 1835 and 1838, which makes it the oldest church in Tallahassee and the oldest building in Florida that's still being used for its original purpose. The building was designed to serve as a sanctuary for women and children during American Indian attacks. Rifle slots are built into the foundation but are not visible from outside. On September 9, 1974, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.Today, there are still services every Sunday at 11:00 A.M.There are estimated to be several hundred members of the congregation, with average attendance of just over two hundred persons. The congregation is part of the Presbyterian Church (USA), and is known for having and maintaining a progressive theological and social perspective through the years. Since 2008, First Presbyterian Church has been affiliated with The Covenant Network of Presbyterians, and supports the ordination of all qualified persons into both lay and ordained ministry, regardless of sexual orientation. For the past several years, First Presbyterian Church has been a sponsor of Pridefest. In 2009, the "Light from Light" campaign was born. As a part of this program, solar panels were added to the building, making First Presbyterian one of only a few churches nationwide to generate a portion of its own electricity. As of 2010, First Presbyterian Church was home to the second largest solar panel array in Leon County.

The Eppes Statue is a monument of Francis W. Eppes that is located in Tallahassee, Florida. The bronze sculpture sits in front of the Westcott Building on Florida State University's campus. It was commissioned by FSU president Sandy D'Alemberte to honor one of Florida State University's founders. This monument was created by sculptor Edward Jonas and was unveiled to the public eye on January 24, 2002. The statue was the starting point for Florida State University's Legacy Walk, a campus improvement project that began in 1989. The Legacy Walk includes multiple bronze statues around campus, reflecting the history and pride of the school's students and alumni. The Eppes statue's symbolism dates back to the original formation of the school as a Seminary, remembering Eppes' role as one of the prominent founders of the school to support a higher education in Tallahassee. The statue was removed from the Legacy Walk in 2018, and permanently removed from campus display in 2020 due to Eppes' history as a slave owner and Confederate supporter.

The State Library and Archives of Florida is the central repository for the archives of state government for the state of Florida. It is located at the R.A. Gray Building on 500 South Bronough Street in Tallahassee, Florida, Florida's capital. Mandated by state law, the Florida State Archives is assigned to collect, preserve, and make available for research the historically significant records of Florida. It also stores and makes available private manuscripts and correspondence, local government records, photographs, maps, film clips, and materials that complement the official state records and Florida history. Many photos from the Florida Photographic Collection are used frequently for articles on Wikipedia and assist users in describing events in Florida history.
