The University of Sri Jayewardenepura (also known as Jayawardhanapura University or USJ; Sinhala: ශ්‍රී ජයවර්ධනපුර විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය, romanized: Çri Jayawardhanapura Wishwawidyala, Tamil: ஸ்ரீ ஜயவர்தனபுர பல்கலைக்கழகம்) is a public university in Sri Lanka. It is in Gangodawila, Nugegoda, near Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte, the country's administrative capital. It was formed in 1958 from the Vidyodaya Pirivena, a Buddhist educational centre which was founded in 1873 by Hikkaduwe Sri Sumangala Thera.

The Weras Ganga Park (also known as Weras Ganga Bellanwila Recreation Park) is a public park located in Bellanwila area, next to the Bellanwila Rajamaha Viharaya in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Bellanwila Rajamaha Viharaya is a Buddhist temple situated in Bellanwila, Colombo District, Sri Lanka. Located around 12 km south to the Colombo city, near Dehiwala - Maharagama road, the temple attracts hundreds of devotees daily and is famous for its annual Esala Perehera festival which usually takes place in the month of August or September. One of the most venerated Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka, many devotees flock to worship the sacred Bo tree of Bellanwila Rajamaha Vihara, which is considered to be one of the first offshoots of Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. The present chief incumbent of Bellanwila Rajamaha Vihara is Ven. Dr. Bellanwila Dhammaratana Nayaka Thera.

Nugegoda (Sinhala: නුගේගොඩ) is a large, densely populated suburb of Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is located in the border of Sri Jayawardenapura Municipal Council limits and Dehiwela Mt. Lavinia Municipal Council limits, just outside Colombo city limits. It has a population of roughly over 250,000 people

Samudradevi Balika Vidyalaya (Sinhala: සමුද්‍රදේවී බාලිකා විද්‍යාලය) is a public girls' school located in Nugegoda, Sri Lanka. It was founded on 5 May 1915 and is considered as the oldest girls' school in Nugegoda.

Dehiwala is a suburban area in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It lies within the administrative boundaries of Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Municipal Council. It is known for the zoo which houses thousands of animals and hundreds of species.

Anula Vidyalaya is a national girls' school in Colombo. It was established in 1941 by E. W. Adikaram with 38 students and five teachers.Currently, the school has a student body of over 5,000 girls. The principal and the staff guide the pupils on the Buddhist principles of non-violence and self-discipline.

Maharagama is an outer suburb of Colombo, Sri Lanka on the High-Level (A4) Road about 10 km (6.2 mi) from the centre of the commercial capital. Jubilee Post (Sinhala: ජුබිලි කණුව) Nugegoda is a commemorative marker, at the intersection of Stanley Thilakarathne Mawatha (B120) and Old Kottawa Road, formerly King George Avenue (B291), recognising the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887. The post was initially erected on the road verge but was subsequently relocated to the middle of the intersection. It was moved again in 2020 when the intersection was upgraded.The post is approximately 1.2 m (3 ft 11 in) high and is fixed to a rectangular base, 52 cm (20 in) by 34 cm (13 in) and 26 cm (10 in) tall. The inscriptions on the post are in English and Sinhalese.It is maintained by the Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte Municipal Council, who have painted the post white. On 8 July 2005 it was gazetted as an archaeological protected monument by the government.
