Maharagama

The National Cancer Institute (also known as Apeksha Hospital) is a government hospital in Maharagama, Sri Lanka. Which is under the control of Department of Health, provides all its services free of charge. As of February 2020 Sri Lanka has more than 50,000 cancer patients, with 14,000 annual deaths due to cancer.

The Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital (SJGH) is a government owned, not for profit tertiary care institute which was gifted by the people of Japan, honoring the late President His Excellency J.R. Jayawardana. Established under the provision of parliament Act number 54 of 1983 and has been managed by a board of members since its inception on the 17th of September 1984. The University of Sri Jayewardenepura (also known as Jayawardhanapura University or USJ; Sinhala: ශ්‍රී ජයවර්ධනපුර විශ්වවිද්‍යාලය, romanized: Çri Jayawardhanapura Wishwawidyala, Tamil: ஸ்ரீ ஜயவர்தனபுர பல்கலைக்கழகம்) is a public university in Sri Lanka. It is in Gangodawila, Nugegoda, near Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte, the country's administrative capital. It was formed in 1958 from the Vidyodaya Pirivena, a Buddhist educational centre which was founded in 1873 by Hikkaduwe Sri Sumangala Thera.

Arawwala or (Erewwala, Arewwala) is a town situated in the Kesbewa electorate, Colombo District, in the Western Province, Sri Lanka. It is located about 20 km distance via High Level (A4) & Maharagama - Piliyandala road from the commercial capital Colombo.

Boralesgamuwa is a city on the Colombo-Horana Road about 14 km (9 mi) south-east of the commercial capital Colombo. The Boralesgamuwa junction was formerly known as Nagass Handiya. Pannipitiya (Sinhala: පන්නිපිටිය, Tamil: பன்னிபிட்டிய) is a suburb of Colombo. It is an area in Colombo District, Sri Lanka and is located about 15 km (9.3 mi) from the commercial capital. Pannipitiya is subdivided into a number of smaller areas.

Piliyandala (Sinhala: පිළියන්දල, Tamil: பிலியந்தலை) is a suburb in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is situated approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi) south of Colombo.

Nugegoda (Sinhala: නුගේගොඩ) is a large, densely populated suburb of Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is located in the border of Sri Jayawardenapura Municipal Council limits and Dehiwela Mt. Lavinia Municipal Council limits, just outside Colombo city limits. It has a population of roughly over 250,000 people

Thalawathugoda (Sinhala: තලවතුගොඩ, Tamil: தலவத்துகொட) is a suburb of Colombo. It is located approximately 16 km (9.9 mi) from the city centre of Colombo, adjacent to Battaramulla and Pelawatte on the Borella-Kottawa Road, bordering Sri Jayawardenapura-Kotte. The Diyawanna Oya (Parliament Lake) forms the "Sri Jayawardenapura-Kotte" boundary of Thalawathugoda. The suburb is a rapidly developing residential area with many facilities. New modern luxury housing schemes are being developed around Kalalgoda Road and Hokandara Road to cater to high end housing demand. A notable expatriate and upper middle class local population resides in Thalawathugoda.

Dharmapala Vidyalaya, Pannipitiya, established in 1942 on land owned by Anagarika Dharmapala, is the largest mixed school in Sri Lanka with about 8500 students and 650 academic staff. It is a public school and provides primary and secondary education.

The Weras Ganga Park (also known as Weras Ganga Bellanwila Recreation Park) is a public park located in Bellanwila area, next to the Bellanwila Rajamaha Viharaya in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Bellanwila Rajamaha Viharaya is a Buddhist temple situated in Bellanwila, Colombo District, Sri Lanka. Located around 12 km south to the Colombo city, near Dehiwala - Maharagama road, the temple attracts hundreds of devotees daily and is famous for its annual Esala Perehera festival which usually takes place in the month of August or September. One of the most venerated Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka, many devotees flock to worship the sacred Bo tree of Bellanwila Rajamaha Vihara, which is considered to be one of the first offshoots of Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. The present chief incumbent of Bellanwila Rajamaha Vihara is Ven. Dr. Bellanwila Dhammaratana Nayaka Thera.
