Gloucester Place

York Street is a street in Marylebone in Central London. Located in the City of Westminster, it runs west from Baker Street in a straight line until it begins curving when it becomes Harcourt Street towards the Old Marylebone Road. It crosses a number of streets including Seymour Place, Upper Montagu Street and Gloucester Place. It was laid out in the eighteenth century as part of the grid-like pattern of the area, developed from the Portman Estate as affluent housing. It is named after Frederick, Duke of York, the son of George III and brother of George IV and William IV. A number of the buildings retain their original Georgian design. Amongst prominent residents of the street is the Victorian painter George Richmond and the writers Frances Milton Trollope and her sons Thomas and Anthony Trollope. The northern, rear side of the neoclassical St Mary's Church, designed by Robert Smirke and built from 1823 to 1824, faces onto York Street.

The Metropolitan Borough of St Marylebone was a metropolitan borough of the County of London from 1900 to 1965. It was based directly on the previously existing civil parish of St Marylebone, which was incorporated into the Metropolitan Board of Works area in 1855, retaining a parish vestry, and then became part of the County of London in 1889. It was that part of the current City of Westminster which is north of Oxford Street, and east of Maida Vale and Edgware Road. It included the areas Marylebone, Regent's Park, St John's Wood, and Lisson Grove, along with the western part of the district of Fitzrovia. In 1965 it was abolished and its former area was amalgamated with that of the Metropolitan Borough of Paddington and the Metropolitan Borough of Westminster to form the City of Westminster.

Marylebone Town Hall, also known as the Westminster Council House, is a municipal building on Marylebone Road in Marylebone, London. The complex includes the council chamber, the Westminster Register Office and an educational facility known as the Sammy Ofer Centre. It is a Grade II listed building.

Dorset Square is a garden square in Marylebone, London. All buildings fronting it are terraced houses and listed, in the mainstream (initial) category. It takes up the site of Lord's (MCC's) Old Cricket Ground, which lasted 23 years until the 1811 season. Internally it spans 100,000 square feet (9,290 m2).

Lord's Old Ground was a cricket venue in London that was established by Thomas Lord in 1787. It was used mainly by Marylebone Cricket Club for major matches until 1810, after which a dispute about rent caused Lord to relocate.

The Landmark London is a five-star hotel on Marylebone Road on the northern side of central London, England, in the City of Westminster. It was originally opened by the Great Central Railway, as the Hotel Great Central. As one of London's railway hotels it declined after the advent of the motor car, and served as a military convalescent home during the Second World War, and later the headquarters of the British Railways Board. It reopened as a hotel in 1993.
