Woodall is a small hamlet in the civil parish of Harthill with Woodall situated in the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham, South Yorkshire England. In the 2001 government census the parish as a whole had 1,909 inhabitants. It is home to a Welcome Break service station of the same name.

Woodall services is a motorway service station on the M1 motorway in Rotherham close to Sheffield in England. It lies between junctions 30 and 31. It was opened in 1968 by Trust House Forte but was renamed Welcome Break after the takeover of the company. It takes its name from the nearby village of Woodall.

Norwood Tunnel was a 2,884-yard-long (1.639 mi; 2,637 m), 9-foot-3-inch-wide (2.82 m) and 12-foot-high (3.7 m) brick (3 million of them) lined canal tunnel on the line of the Chesterfield Canal with its Western Portal in Norwood, Derbyshire and its Eastern Portal in Kiveton, South Yorkshire, England.

Wales High School is an academy school for 11- to 19-year-olds, in Kiveton, near Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. Opened in 1970, the school provides education for nearby villages, including Kiveton Park, Harthill, Todwick, Wales, Thurcroft and South Anston. The school is situated in Kiveton Park, not in the small neighbouring village of Wales less than a mile away. The school is a specialist school in Business and Enterprise. The school was invited to become an academy under new government policy in 2012.

Gulliver's Valley is a theme park and resort located in Rotherham, England. Construction began in 2018 at a planned cost of £37 million. The first phase, costing £7.5 million, was due to open in spring 2020 but the opening was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The park officially opened on 11 July 2020.Gulliver's Valley has sister parks at Warrington (Gulliver's World), Matlock Bath (Gulliver's Kingdom) and Milton Keynes (Gulliver's Land).

Waleswood Colliery was a coal mine situated between Swallownest and Wales Bar, near Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. The colliery was adjacent to the Rotherham to Clowne road and the main line of the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway about 2 miles east of Woodhouse. The first shaft was sunk in the 1860s when the colliery was owned by Skinner and Holford Limited. In 1947 the colliery and its associated by-product plant passed to the National Coal Board, the colliery being closed the following year. As the collieries in the area became inter-connected it was retained as a pumping station. The coke ovens and by-products plant closed in 1962. Many of the colliery buildings have been retained and now form the basis of an industrial estate.

Waleswood railway station is a former railway station on the Great Central Railway's main line between Sheffield Victoria and Worksop, England. The station was opened on 1 July 1907 by public demand, where the road from Rotherham to Clowne road below the line and the Waleswood Curve, a connection from the Derbyshire Lines of the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway at Killamarsh, joins the east–west main line. It was adjacent to Waleswood Colliery. The station buildings were of all wood construction with flanking wooden platforms.The station booking hall suffered a major fire on 24 May 1953, when much internal damage was caused and rail traffic was disrupted. The station was closed on 7 March 1955 and has since been demolished.

Killamarsh is a village and civil parish in North East Derbyshire, England, bordering Rotherham to the north and Sheffield to the north-west. Killamarsh is surrounded by, in a clockwise direction from the north, Rother Valley Country Park, the village of Wales, South Yorkshire, Kiveton, Woodall, Harthill, Barlborough, Spinkhill, Renishaw, Eckington, and the (former Derbyshire) Sheffield suburbs of Oxclose, Halfway and Holbrook. The name 'Killamarsh' is first attested in the Domesday Book of 1086, where it appears as Chinewoldemaresc. It appears as Kinewaldesmers in the Charter Roll for 1249. The name means 'Cynewald's marsh'.

Kiveton Bridge railway station serves the village of Kiveton Park in South Yorkshire, England. It also served the now closed Kiveton Park Colliery which was adjacent. The station was opened by the London and North Eastern Railway on 8 July 1929 following pressure from the local councils who considered Kiveton Park station and Waleswood station too far away from the centre of the community. The new station consisted of two flanking wooden platform linked by an overbridge, access to which was gained through the booking office, set at road level adjacent to the main road through, and linking the villages. The station was originally served by stopping services linking Sheffield Victoria, Cleethorpes and Lincoln Central. In the 1950s the wooden platforms were replaced with concrete ones and the wooden station buildings by plain brick built structures. Along with neighbouring Kiveton Park station it was completely rebuilt during the early-1990s with modern platforms, lighting and waiting shelters, this work being funded by the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive. On completion of the work the station received new signs with the name erroneously shown as "Kiverton Bridge". These were replaced with the correct spelling by 21 May 1993. This was not the first time the name had been incorrectly shown: British Railways made the same mistake on large enamel signs in the late 1950s.

Kiveton Park Colliery was a coal mine in the village of Kiveton Park, near Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England.

At 07:26 BST on 19 September 2021, police officers were called to a residential property on Chandos Crescent in Killamarsh, Derbyshire, an outer suburb of Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Three children and one adult were found dead inside the property, with the incident being treated as a suspected mass murder. On 22 September 2021, 31-year-old Damien Bendall of Killamarsh was charged with four counts of murder and later rape of a girl under 13 in connection with the incident.He admitted all charges and was sentenced by Mr Justice Sweeney to a whole-life prison term on 21 December 2022.

The All Hallows Church is an Anglican parish church in the Diocese of Sheffield, located in Harthill, South Yorkshire, England. It is a Grade I listed building.
