Holmes Junior High School is a historic junior high school building located in the West Philadelphia neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was designed by Henry deCourcy Richards and built in 1916–1917. It is a three-story, six bay, brick building on a raised basement in the Classical Revival-style. An addition was made to the "U"-shaped building shortly after it was completed in 1917. It features a slightly projecting center section, stone cornice, and brick parapet.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Nixon Theatre was a theatre in Philadelphia. It was built in 1910 and closed around 1984. It held 1,870 seats. The architectural design of the Nixon Theatre was made by John D. Allen. It was located on 34 S 52nd Street, Philadelphia, PA. The theater was brick and stone with a two-story arched entrance and a bow window at the top. Now, the site is Payless ShoeSource and Rainbow Kids. Jimmy Bishop, a popular old local Philly radio DJ helped run Arctic Records and organize various performances in this theatre.

The La Blanche Apartments is a historic building in West Philadelphia built in 1910 in the Georgian Revival style. It was part of the second wave of a housing boom in West Philadelphia that started with the completion of the Market Street Elevated line in 1907. The building is also one of the first large apartment buildings built in Philadelphia, and helped give the rising middle class better access to housing. Originally the four story building housed just 26 apartments, but as the neighborhood became less fashionable, the apartments were subdivided into a total of 49 units.

George L. Brooks School is a historic former school building located in the Haddington neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was designed by Henry deCourcy Richards and built in 1919, encompassing part of the original walls of the 1902 edifice that had been destroyed by fire. It is a three-story, five bay, stone and brick building on a raised basement in the Late Gothic Revival-style. It features a slightly projecting entrance bay with Gothic arched entryway and a crenellated parapet.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It is currently used as senior housing.

Dunlap is a small neighborhood in the West Philadelphia section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The neighborhood lies between Haverford Avenue and Market Street and stretches from 46th to 52nd streets. Dunlap is squeezed in between the neighborhoods of Mill Creek and Haddington and situated just north of Walnut Hill. The neighborhood is named after the former historic Thomas Dunlap School that was restored into senior homes in 1991. Dunlap is located in the 19139 ZIP Code, and is located is situated in the Philadelphia Police Department's 19th police district which encompasses a large portion of West Philadelphia. According to some sources, the neighborhood is generally known for low income housing with household incomes generally below the poverty level. The area has many dilapidated or abandoned houses. The area is served by SEPTA's 52nd Street station.

Thomas Dunlap School is a historic former school building located in the Haddington neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1906, and is a three-story, nine bay by two bay, ashlar stone building in the Colonial Revival-style. It features a projecting, center cross gable bay, paired pilasters flanking the main entrance, and a modillioned copper cornice.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It is currently in use as apartments.

William L. Sayre High School (commonly referred to as Sayre High School) is a high school in Philadelphia. It was founded in 1949 as a middle school serving grades 7–9, becoming a high school in 2003. Sayre High School is also the home site of SHIELD (Sayre Health Initiatives Education and Leadership Development), a Sayre Health Center run enrichment program providing medical assistant training, health professions education, internship employment and scholarship opportunities for School District of Philadelphia high school students.

The Paul Robeson House was the home of internationally renowned American bass-baritone concert singer, actor of film and stage, All-American and professional athlete, writer, multi-lingual orator, human rights activist, and lawyer Paul Robeson from 1966 until 1976. Located in West Philadelphia, the Robeson House produces, presents and promotes traveling lectures, concerts and exhibits so that learning about Robeson is accessible to all ages and cultures.

Malcolm X Park (formerly named Black Oak Park) is an urban park in West Philadelphia named in honor of Malcolm X. It is a six-acre park located around 51st Street and Pine Street. The park is known for its jazz festival during the summer.

Callowhill Depot is a bus and trolley barn operated by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), located in West Philadelphia, near the Delaware County border. It was built in 1913 by the Philadelphia Rapid Transit Company (PRT) and was later operated by the Philadelphia Transportation Company (PTC) before being taken over by SEPTA. The depot was constructed as part of the Thomas E. Mitten modernization program. Since its construction, the depot has suffered fire damage and reconstruction in 1949, 1950, and 1995. The Callowhill Depot is located in the heart of West Philadelphia, located on the southwest corner of the 5900 block of Callowhill Street with the bus and trolley bays across the street. The depot is surrounded by 59th, Vine, 58th, and Callowhill Streets. Callowhill Depot was an all-trolley depot until May 28, 1955, when Route 70 (52nd Street Line) was converted to bus operation. Callowhill Depot was the base of all streetcar routes that operated in West Philadelphia, until National City Lines converted most of them to buses. The depot is accessible only to SEPTA employees, however, transit enthusiasts often photograph streetcars pulling in and out. For safety reasons, SEPTA Transit Police will stop and question anyone found on the property without reason or authorization.
