Breadsall Priory is a former Augustinian priory in Derbyshire, situated around two kilometres north of Breadsall, and two kilometres east of Little Eaton. The priory was established before 1266 by a member of the Curzon family. Only a small priory, Breadsall was dissolved in 1536. Following dissolution the priory was demolished and a private home, also known as Breadsall Priory, built on the site; the house was altered and extended in both the 19th and 20th centuries, and only a single arch remains of the monastic buildings. The house and its stables are both Grade II Listed. The house is currently used as a hotel, while its stables are in residential use.

Horsley is a small village in the Amber Valley district of Derbyshire, roughly 5 miles north of the City of Derby, England, with a population of 973 at the 2011 Census.The parish church of St Clement and St John, which dates from the 13th century, was rededicated in 1450. It is noted for its fine peal of bells. The main street is Church Street which runs from east to west through the village. Horsley has three main focal points: the village green at the West side of the village, the crossroads of The Dovecote, French Lane and Church Street, and the junction of Church Street, Lady Lea Road and Smalley Mill Road (known locally as "the triangle"). Each of these points boasts a fountain, donated to the village in 1864 by Reverend Sitwell. The fountains were named Sophia, Rosamund and Blanche after the Sitwell family's daughters. The Sitwells of Horlsey, Derbyshire, were related to the Sitwell family of Leamington Hastings, Warwickshire, where they had inherited the lordship of the manor on marrying a Wheler family heiress.The village pub is called the Coach and Horses. Horsley also used to have a second pub called the Ship Inn, but this has been a private house for many years. A recreation ground is situated off French Lane. The rec has a small football pitch and contains the local crown green bowling club. The remains of 12th-century Horsley (Horeston) castle are about a mile away from the village itself. Driving south from the village on Smalley Mill Road you will see Horsley Lodge and Horsley Lodge Golf Club. Opposite the golf club, Springwood Riding Club holds horse shows, on Sundays in the summer.

Horston Castle (sometimes spelt Horeston and also known as Horsley Castle) is about 1 mile to the south of the village of Horsley, some 5 miles north of the English city of Derby (grid reference SK375432). The site is a Scheduled Ancient Monument but, as of 2018, is on Historic England's Heritage at Risk Register as poor condition.It was a Norman motte and bailey castle which was founded by Ralph de Buron. In the 13th century King John built a stone castle, adding a keep, a chapel, a gatehouse and a barbican. In 1514 it was granted by Henry VIII to the Duke of Norfolk as a reward for services against the Scots. Later it came into the possession of the Stanhope family. The castle is ruined today, damaged by extensive quarrying. There are visible remains of the keep although this is now largely overgrown.

Morley is a village and civil parish within the Borough of Erewash in Derbyshire, England. It is on the eastern side of Morley Moor, with Morley Smithy to the north. The parish church of St Matthew is a grade I listed building and stands near the (converted) Tithe Barn and dovecote of Morley Hall. The church features a wall of stained glass depicting the story of Robert of Knaresborough along the north aisle which came from Dale Abbey in 1539, home of the fine Sacheverell tombs.

Horsley Woodhouse is a village and civil parish in the Amber Valley district of Derbyshire, in the East Midlands of England. The population of the civil parish taken at the 2011 Census was 1,219. It is situated on the A609 road between the neighbouring villages of Kilburn and Smalley. The nearest towns are Heanor, situated 2.6 miles (4.2 km) northeast, and Belper, 3.2 miles (5.1 km) northwest, while the city of Derby is located about 6 miles (9.7 km) south-southwest. The name is said to mean "houses in the wood belonging to Horsley", and is often known by its dialect pronunciation "Ossley Woodhus".

Kilburn is a village and civil parish in the English county of Derbyshire, known as Kilbourne until around 100 years ago. The population of the civil parish taken at the 2011 Census was 3,618.Forming part of the borough of Amber Valley, Kilburn has few amenities for the people who live there including a local police station, community officer and several parks for young children. There is a Chinese restaurant, Jade Garden. The local fish and chip shop, Kilburn Fish Bar, closed in April 2021. There is a shop in the village, Metro Stores. The village post office is inside of Metro. There are two hair and beauty salons in Kilburn, Amber Hair and Vanity. It was historically served by Kilburn railway station on the Midland Railway Ripley Branch. Kilburn used to have two public houses: The Hunters Arms and the Travellers Rest. Only the Hunters Arm remains open. There is also a working men's club (Kilburn Social Club) adjoined to the football field at the back of Chapel Street. The other prominent features of the village include the War Memorial situated at the top of Bywell Lane, and the Village Hall on Church St, which hosts various leisure activities and is available for residents to hire and use via their Facebook page. Kilburn is served by three schools within the village: Kilburn Nursery (4 - 5), Kilburn Infant School (5 - 7) and Kilburn Junior School (7 - 11). School children then progress to John Flamsteed Community School in Denby until they are 16. There is also a Baptist Chapel as well as a Methodist Chapel, located on Highfield Road and Chapel St, respectively. A number of associations serve the village. The Parish Council is elected from local residents and works toward improving and maintaining the village. The Kilburn Community Association voluntarily maintain and operate the Kilburn Village Hall. A village newsletter, locally circulated, report on the work of these bodies, as well as other institutions such as the local Women's Institute which serves both Kilburn and Denby. There are annual traditions such as a village treasure hunt, a village quiz, the junior school Summer Fair and Christmas Shopping Evening and carol singing which raise funds both for the village and charitable causes in Derbyshire.

Coxbench railway station was a railway station which served the village of Coxbench in Derbyshire, England. It was opened by the Midland Railway in 1856 on its Ripley branch from Little Eaton Junction (approximately 3 miles north of Derby) to Ripley. On leaving Little Eaton the line passed under the only road bridge on the line under the Coxbench Road. Coxbench station was reached in about one and a half a miles, where again there was just a single platform on the down side. There was also a bay platform for a small siding. In its heyday it was sending out about fifty 17 gallon milk churns each day.At the north end was a level crossing which, being on the apex of a triangular road junction, was unusual in having three sets of gates. Approximately a quarter of a mile further on there was yet another level crossing. In the Grouping of all lines (into four main companies) in 1923 the station became part of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway . Regular passenger services finished in 1930, but the station was used to take Derby County supporters to the FA cup Final in 1946. The line remained open to Denby for coal traffic until the late twentieth century with the last coal train passing through the Station in March 1999. This is the only station on the line that retains its buildings, along with the platform. It became a private house and though it has been extended, the work has been done sympathetically.

Coxbench Hall is a late 18th-century country house, now in use as a residential home for the elderly, situated at Holbrook, Amber Valley, Derbyshire. It is a Grade II listed building.The Manor of Coxbench was held anciently by the Franceys family until the daughter and heiress of the last male Franceys married William Brooks. Their grandson William Brooks Johnson (1763–1830) replaced the old manor house with the present house built by John Chambers of Horsley Woodhouse.The main block is built to a square plan, with a three-storey, three-bayed entrance front to the east, which carries a Tuscan porch with iron balustrading. A service wing to the north west incorporates a datestone inscribed WB1774. A stable block continues the range to the north. The property had numerous occupants during the 19th century, including Meynell and Alleyne. Since 1984 the house has been in use as a residential care home for the elderly, and has gained the status of being a Quality Premium Home. There are also award-winning Close Care Apartments in the beautiful grounds.

Stainsby House is an architecturally notable house in Horsley Woodhouse, Derbyshire, England. It was designed by Nottingham architect David Shelley, and built for the businessman Robert Morley, owner of Alida Packaging at Heanor Gate. The house was completed in 1974.

Amber Valley is a local government district with borough status in the east of Derbyshire, England, taking its name from the River Amber. Its council is based in Ripley. The district covers a semi-rural area lying to the north of the city of Derby. The district contains four main towns whose economy was based on coal mining and remains to some extent influenced by engineering, distribution and manufacturing, holding for instance the headquarters and production site of Thorntons confectionery. The seat in the House of Commons of Amber Valley is of smaller scope. The village of Crich and other parts of the district were the setting for ITV drama series Peak Practice.

Denby Bottles is a settlement in Derbyshire, England. It is located on the B6179 road in Denby. Denby Bottles Methodist Church is in Danesby Crescent. Each of the cottages have a segment of garden which is across the road and the brook. Denby Bottles is situated to the right- hand side of the B6179 - coming from Kilburn Toll Bar - and is the Danesby Rise area. The Ordnance Survey Map of 1914 (surveyed 1879, revised 1913 and re-levelled 1913–14) clearly prints 'Denby Bottles' to the left-hand side of the houses depicted. The Bottle Brook houses are situated at the end of Ryknield Road which leaves the B6179 at Denby Smithy Houses.
