Kuchyňa Castle

Vysoká is the second-highest mountain in the Little Carpathians mountains, part of the Carpathians mountain range, located in the municipality of Kuchyňa in Slovakia. The mountain is part of the Vysoká Nature Reserve. The 754-meter (2,474 ft) AMSL high peak offers views of the surrounding Little Carpathians' relief, Tribeč mountains, Považský Inovec and Podunajská pahorkatina. On a fine day, it offers views of extended parts of landscape with even the Austrian Alps being clearly visible.

Kuchyňa (Hungarian: Konyha, lit. 'Kitchen') is a municipality in the Malacky District in the Bratislava Region of western Slovakia close to the town of Malacky, north-west of Slovakia's capital Bratislava. Nearby castle ruins of Kuchyňa Castle bear the name of the municipality. The Kuchyňa airbase, often used by the US Air Force for training purposes, is located approximately 18 kilometers east of the city of Malacky.

Rohožník (German: Rohrbach; Hungarian: Nádasfő) is a village in Malacky District in the Bratislava Region of western Slovakia close to the town of Malacky, northwest of Slovakia's capital Bratislava.

The Little Carpathians (also: Lesser Carpathians, Slovak: Malé Karpaty; German: Kleine Karpaten; Hungarian: Kis-Kárpátok) are a low mountain range, about 100 km long, and part of the Carpathian Mountains. The mountains are situated in Western Slovakia, covering the area from Bratislava to Nové Mesto nad Váhom, and northeastern Austria, where a very small part called Hundsheimer Berge (or Hainburger Berge) is located south of the Devín Gate. The Little Carpathians are bordered by the Záhorie Lowland in the west and the Danubian Lowland in the east. In 1976, the Little Carpathians were declared a protected area under the name Little Carpathians Protected Landscape Area, covering 646.1 km2 (249.5 sq mi). The area is rich in floral and faunal diversity and contains numerous castles, most notably the Bratislava Castle, and natural caves. Driny is the only cave open to the public. The three highest mountains are Záruby at 768 m (2,520 ft), Vysoká at 754 m (2,474 ft), and Vápenná at 752 m (2,467 ft).

Little Carpathians Protected Landscape Area (Slovak: Chránená krajinná oblasť Malé Karpaty) is one of the 14 protected landscape areas in Slovakia. The Landscape Area is situated in the Little Carpathians, part of the Carpathian Mountains, in West Slovakia. The southwesternmost area is Devínska Kobyla in Bratislava, and the northeasternmost area is the Čachtice Carpathians at the town of Nové Mesto nad Váhom and the village of Čachtice in the Trenčín Region. Both areas are separated from the main mountain strip. The area protects 646.1 km2 (249.5 sq mi) of the mountains.

The Astronomical Observatory of Modra (Slovak: Astronomické observatórium Modra), also known as Modra Observatory or the Astronomical and Geophysical observatory in Modra, is an astronomical observatory located in Modra, Slovakia. It is owned and operated by the Comenius University in Bratislava. The scientific research at the observatory is led by the Department of Astronomy, Physics of the Earth and Meteorology, Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics. The asteroid 11118 Modra discovered at this observatory is named in the honor of the town.

Plavecký Mikuláš (Slovak: [ˈplaʋetskiː ˈmikulaːʂ]; German: Blasenstein-Sankt-Nikolaus; Hungarian: Detrekőszentmiklós) is a village and municipality in western Slovakia in Malacky District in the Bratislava region.

Cajla (German: Zeil, Hungarian: Cajla) is a former village, now a historical suburb of Pezinok, Slovakia. Until 1 January 1948, it was an independent municipality and since that date it is part of Pezinok and is its branch parish. The name originated in 15th century when the village consisted of 26 estates arranged in one row (German: Zeile). The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, which was built in 1740, is located in Cajla. It replaced the original medieval St. Joseph Church which was built in 1659 on the site of the original St. Nicholas Church in the settlement of Zumberg and which was located near today's Philippe Pinel Psychiatric Hospital. This church is only remembered by the statue of Christ the King, because its ruins were later covered with a new road. The Calvary of Cajla is located near the psychiatric hospital which is also nearby Kučišdorf Valley. Behind the village, there was the first sulfuric acid factory which after 1882 was replaced by the administrative buildings of the antimony mines directorate. Next to the former buildings of the antimony mines, later the psychiatric hospital buildings, there was the Pálffy Paper Mill which no longer exists and whose main building was converted into a grain mill after its closure which burned down in the summer of 1934. Since then, Fabian's Mill has stood on the site of the old mill. Since 30 April 2024, the richtár (Slovak historical word for „mayor“) of Cajla is Jozef Kanka.
