The Little Carpathians (also: Lesser Carpathians, Slovak: Malé Karpaty; German: Kleine Karpaten; Hungarian: Kis-Kárpátok) are a low mountain range, about 100 km long, and part of the Carpathian Mountains. The mountains are situated in Western Slovakia, covering the area from Bratislava to Nové Mesto nad Váhom, and northeastern Austria, where a very small part called Hundsheimer Berge (or Hainburger Berge) is located south of the Devín Gate. The Little Carpathians are bordered by the Záhorie Lowland in the west and the Danubian Lowland in the east. In 1976, the Little Carpathians were declared a protected area under the name Little Carpathians Protected Landscape Area, covering 646.1 km2 (249.5 sq mi). The area is rich in floral and faunal diversity and contains numerous castles, most notably the Bratislava Castle, and natural caves. Driny is the only cave open to the public. The three highest mountains are Záruby at 768 m (2,520 ft), Vysoká at 754 m (2,474 ft), and Vápenná at 752 m (2,467 ft).

Little Carpathians Protected Landscape Area (Slovak: Chránená krajinná oblasť Malé Karpaty) is one of the 14 protected landscape areas in Slovakia. The Landscape Area is situated in the Little Carpathians, part of the Carpathian Mountains, in West Slovakia. The southwesternmost area is Devínska Kobyla in Bratislava, and the northeasternmost area is the Čachtice Carpathians at the town of Nové Mesto nad Váhom and the village of Čachtice in the Trenčín Region. Both areas are separated from the main mountain strip. The area protects 646.1 km2 (249.5 sq mi) of the mountains.

Modra (German: Modern, Hungarian: Modor, Latin: Modur) is a city and municipality in the Bratislava Region in Slovakia. It has a population of 9,042 as of 2018. It nestles in the foothills of the Malé Karpaty (Little Carpathian mountains) and is an excellent centre of hiking. Modra is famous for its pottery industry. Its blue-and-white porcelain is famous throughout Slovakia. It is also known as one of the most important viticulture centres in the Little Carpathians region. Besides the main town, there are also other adjacent settlements incorporated in the municipality: former vassalage viticulture village Kráľová and two recreational hamlets of Harmónia and Piesok (also known as Zochova Chata), both located in the woods of Little Carpathians mountains.

Dubová (Hungarian: Cserfalu) is a village and municipality in western Slovakia in Pezinok District in the Bratislava region.

Píla (Hungarian: Gidrafűrész, German: Sägmühl) is a village and municipality in western Slovakia in Pezinok District in the Bratislava region.

Červený Kameň Castle (Slovak: Hrad Červený Kameň, Hungarian: Vöröskő vára, German: Bibersburg, earlier Rotenstein) is a 13th-century castle in southwestern Slovakia in the Little Carpathians near the village of Častá.

Vinosady (Hungarian: Csukárdterlény[1] or Csukárd-Terlény) is a village and municipality in western Slovakia in Pezinok District in the Bratislava Region, on the foothills of the Little Carpathians.

Vysoká is the second-highest mountain in the Little Carpathians mountains, part of the Carpathians mountain range, located in the municipality of Kuchyňa in Slovakia. The mountain is part of the Vysoká Nature Reserve. The 754-meter (2,474 ft) AMSL high peak offers views of the surrounding Little Carpathians' relief, Tribeč mountains, Považský Inovec and Podunajská pahorkatina. On a fine day, it offers views of extended parts of landscape with even the Austrian Alps being clearly visible.

Koncert mladosti (literally Concert of Youth) was Czechoslovak music festival, only two editions of which were held in 1976 and 1977 at the amphitheater in Pezinok, Slovakia. The main organizers of the events were Pavol Boriš and Ladislav Snopko, and the festival was the first open-air festival in Czechoslovak Socialist Republic ever. The music columnist Lubomír Dorůžka called him "Czechoslovak Woodstock" (Slovak: československý Woodstock).Koncerty mladosti were an unprecedented cultural event, where top Czech-Slovak representatives of folk, rock and jazz performed – among other folk singers and Vladimír Merta, Petr Lutka, Vlasta Třešňák, Vladimír Veit, Pepa Nos, Miloš Janoušek, Dagmar Andrtová and Zuzana Homolová, folk-rock band Marsyas, rock Collegium musicum, Jaro Filip, Vladimir Mišík's band Etc... debut concert, pop-rock Modus, jazzmen Gabriel Jonáš and Pavol Kozma, jazz-rock bands Bohemia and Energit, including an offshoot, the Andršt/Viklický duo. The state media called the festival the festival of defiance against red normalization regime, the entrance fee cost 25 Kčs and during both years it was visited by 4,500 people.In 1977, the moderators of the festival were Ladislav Snopko and Slávek Jíša. After Jaroslav Hutka sang the song "Havlíčku Havle", the visitors were anti-Bolshevik and thought about marching "against everything". The presenters calmed the situation by showing the film Yellow Submarine by the British music group The Beatles, which began with the notes of the French national anthem and the song "All You Need Is Love".In 1978, a third year of the festival was planned, but it was eventually cancelled.The atmosphere of the events was captured by photographer Ján Štrba and they were part of various commemorative exhibitions and books. Author of the posters of both years is Oliver Solga.In 2007, memorial concert in Schaubmar's Mill was organized by P.R.D. civil association, during which the new book Koncert mladosti '76 – '77 – Československý Woodstock was baptized. In 2016 was held six-hours long Koncert mladosti 40 event.

Pezinok (Slovak pronunciation: [ˈpezinɔk]; Hungarian: Bazin; German: Bösing; Latin: Bazinium) is a town in southwestern Slovakia. It is roughly 20 km (12.43 mi) northeast of Bratislava and, as of December 2018, had a population of 23,002. Pezinok lies near the Little Carpathians and thrives mainly on viticulture and agriculture, as well as on brick-making and ceramic(s) production.

Pezinok District (okres Pezinok) is a district in the Bratislava Region of western Slovakia The district had been established in 1996, from 1923 was its area part of Modra District. It is situated on the foothills of Little Carpathians hills, and is known for its vineyard production. Industry is located mostly in its seat, town of Pezinok, which is the largest district municipality. Of cultural importance is the town of Modra. Many inhabitants daily travel to Bratislava for work, shopping, or education.

Kuchyňa Castle was a castle in the Little Carpathians near the municipality Kuchyňa in the Bratislava region, Slovakia. Only modest remains of some parts of the castle are visible today. The ruins are located approximately 420 m above sea level.The ruins of the castle were only discovered in the 1980s and are generally much less well known than those of other castles in the region, such as Biely Kameň and Pajštún Castle. The site nonetheless remains a hiking destination.
