Cordenons is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Pordenone in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia, located about 90 kilometres (56 mi) northwest of Trieste and about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) northeast of Pordenone. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 17,738 and an area of 56.8 square kilometres (21.9 sq mi).The municipality of Cordenons contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Nogaredo, Pasch, Romans, Sclavons, and Villa d'Arco, Tramit. Cordenons borders the following municipalities: Pordenone, San Giorgio della Richinvelda, San Quirino, Vivaro, Zoppola.

The company specializes in the design and manufacture of light aircraft in the form of kits for amateur construction and ready-to-fly aircraft in the European Fédération Aéronautique Internationale microlight category.The company produces a range of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, both manned and unmanned. These include the Alpi Pioneer 200 and 230, the 300, the aerobatic 330 microlights and the four seat 400 kit aircraft. The 200 and 300 series are built from a combination of wood and composites. The company also manufactures the Syton AH 130 turbine-powered helicopter which is derived from the Rotorway Exec. Alpi also markets the Alpi Strix-C fixed-wing mini unmanned aerial vehicle and the Alpi Sixton-A rotary-wing micro unmanned aerial vehicle.

Pordenone railway station (Italian: Stazione di Pordenone) serves the city and comune of Pordenone, in the autonomous region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, northeastern Italy. Opened in 1855, the station is located on the Venice–Udine railway. Although it is not a junction or terminal station, it is used by a great many passengers. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni. It is located in the Aviano municipality, at the foot of the Carnic Pre-Alps or Southern Carnic Alps, about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from Pordenone. The Italian Air Force has ownership, and administrative and military control of the base. It hosts the U.S. Air Force's 31st Fighter Wing and per nuclear sharing is one of six active air bases in five European countries with B61 nuclear bombs in underground WS3 Weapon Storage and Security System inside aircraft shelters.The 31st Fighter Wing is the only U.S. fighter wing south of the Alps. The 31st Fighter Wing is made up of two General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter squadrons, the 555th Fighter Squadron and the 510th Fighter Squadron, allowing it to fly both attack and defensive missions.

Piancavallo (Friulian: Plancjaval) is a ski resort in the Dolomites of northern Italy. It is a frazione of the comune of Aviano, in the province of Pordenone in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Piancavallo is situated at 1,280 metres (4,199 ft) above sea level, at the foot of Monte Cavallo (2,251 m (7,385 ft)). The nearest railway station is that of Aviano, to which it is connected by regular bus services.

Aviano is home to the C.R.O. (Centro di Riferimento Oncologico), one of the main italian cancer hospitals and research centres[1]. The Piancavallo ski resort is part of the municipality.
