Juist (German pronunciation: [ˈjyːst] ; Low German: Juist) is an island and municipality in the district of Aurich in Lower Saxony in Germany. The island is one of seven East Frisian Islands at the edge of the Lower Saxon Wadden Sea in the southern North Sea. It is located between Borkum Island (west), Memmert Island (southwest) and Norderney (east). The island is 17 km (11 mi) long and from 500 metres (1,600 ft) to 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) wide, depending on the tide levels. There are two villages on the island: the main village Juist, and Loog. The island is separated from Norderney by the Norderneyer Seegatt.

Memmert (German pronunciation: [ˈmɛmɐt] ) is a small East Frisian island off the northern coast of Germany, with an area of 5.2 square kilometres (2.0 sq mi). Memmert is uninhabited, with only one house on the island for wildlife-spotting purposes. Occasionally, some guests from the neighboring islands visit Memmert for recreation. Memmert is officially a wildlife protected area. The island plays an important role in Erskine Childers's novel, The Riddle of the Sands (1903).

Juist Airfield (German: Flugplatz Juist, IATA: JUI, ICAO: EDWJ) is an airfield on the island of Juist in Lower Saxony, Germany. The airport serves regular flights to Norden-Norddeich Airfield on the mainland. As of 2013, the airfield had up to 500 takeoffs and landings on weekends, the second most aircraft movements in the state of Lower Saxony, after Hannover Airport. The airfield is a critical piece of infrastructure for the island, due to ferry traffic being dependent on the tides.

The Norderneyer Seegatt or (officially) Norderneyer Seegat is a gat in the southern North Sea. The gat runs in a north–south direction between the East Frisian Islands of Juist to the west and Norderney to the east. There are two marked shipping channels for craft navigating from the North Sea into the Norderneyer Seegatt. From the west the gat is approached along the Schluchter and from the east the Dovetief. The Norderneyer Seegatt is subject to marked morphological changes as a result of tidal action, so that the location and depth of the channels changes continuously.

Westermarsch II was an independent municipality until the 1972 territorial reform in Lower Saxony and, as such, a member of the collective municipality (Samtgemeinde) of Leybucht in Lower Saxony. Today Westermarsch II is a village in the East Frisian borough of Norden with around 500 inhabitants (as at 12/2016). The village parish covers an area of 11.69 km². Curiously the main settlement of Westermarsch II is associated in public perception with the village of Norddeich, with which it has grown together. The boundary between the two runs down the middle of the road, Dörper Weg.

The Reception Tower Utlandshörn was a 65-metre (211 ft) high wood framework tower built of oak wood on the area of the radio reception station Utlandshoern, a part of Norddeich Radio coastal station (callsign DAN). This tower carried wire antennas of four arms on its top, which were manufactured of teak wood, for the reception of short wave signals. It was built in 1935. In the middle of 1976 it was replaced by an antenna system, which was fastened on steel towers and which also does not exist any more. At the beginning of 1977 the tower, which was already one of the last large wood towers in Germany, was knocked down with great care. From the wood of the demolished tower some carvings and ornaments were made.

Buise was one of the East Frisian Islands off the North Sea coast of Germany that was almost entirely engulfed by the sea in the second half of the 17th century. The only remaining part is the eastern end, known today as the island of Norderney. Buise itself was formed by the breakup of a bigger island. Two possible origins are mentioned: the breakup of the island Burchana in the flood of 1219, and the breakup of the island Bant in 1170, which also formed Juist, Borkum and Memmert. Buise broke up in two parts in 1362. The eastern part was called Osterende initially, and later "Norder neye Oog" (Nordens New Island), and today is the island Norderney. The western part disappeared slowly over the ages as a result of erosion, but sources do not agree on the exact date of the disappearance of Buise (the St. Peter's Flood of 1651 or 1690).

Norderney (Low German: Nördernee) is one of the seven populated East Frisian Islands off the North Sea coast of Germany. The island is 14 by 2.5 kilometres (8.7 by 1.6 mi), having a total area of about 26.3 square kilometres (10.2 sq mi) and is therefore Germany's ninth-largest island. Norderney's population amounts to about 5,850 people. In 1946 Norderney gained municipal status and belongs to the Aurich "Kreis" (county). On the northern side of the island lies a 14-kilometre (8.7 mi) long sandy beach. The neighbouring island to the east is Baltrum, which lies about 800m (half a mile) away beyond the Wichter Ee. To the west is the island of Juist, about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) away on the other side of the Norderneyer Seegatt. The entire eastern half of Norderney belongs to the Lower Saxon Wadden Sea National Park. Access to the park is restricted, as it is subdivided in zones of different accessibility for the protection of the wildlife. The status as a National Park also affects all types of traffic on the island, while especially car traffic is subject to strict regulations. The mainland is easily reached via ferry operated by AG Reederei Norden-Frisia from the harbour, Norddeich pier near the northern German city of Norden. Norderney also possesses an airport with a 1,000-metre (3,300 ft) runway.

The Leybucht is the second largest bay in East Frisia in northwest Germany after the Dollart. The Jade Bight is larger than both, but belongs historically to Oldenburg.

Norddeich (Low Saxon: Nörddiek) is a village in the borough of Norden in north Germany with 1,540 inhabitants (2011). It lies in northwestern East Frisia, Lower Saxony on the North Sea coast. Since 1979 Norddeich has been officially designated as a "state-recognised North Sea spa" and is the largest of its kind on the coast of the East Frisian mainland. Each year around 175,000 vehicles and 2.25 million people are ferried from the harbour to the nearby islands of Juist and Norderney. Norddeich is the third largest passenger port in Germany after Puttgarden and Rostock, and the largest in Lower Saxony.

Norddeich Mole is a railway station located in Norddeich, Lower Saxony, Germany. The station is located on the Emsland Railway. The train services are operated by Deutsche Bahn. Norddeich Mole is a port for combined passenger and car ferries to the islands of Norderney and Juist, both very popular among holidaymakers, many of whom arrive by train (especially during the summer).

Norddeich is a railway station located in Norddeich, Lower Saxony, Germany. The station lies on the Emsland Railway (Rheine - Norddeich) and the train services are operated by Deutsche Bahn.
