Castagnole delle Lanze (Piedmontese: Castagnòle Lanse) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Asti in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 50 kilometres (31 mi) southeast of Turin and about 15 kilometres (9 mi) south of Asti. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 3,711 and an area of 21.4 square kilometres (8.3 sq mi).The municipality of Castagnole delle Lanze contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Annunziata, Carossi, Farinere, Olmo, Rivella, San Bartolomeo, San Grato, San Defendente, San Rocco, San Pietro, Santa Maria, Valle Tanaro, and Val Bera. Castagnole delle Lanze borders the following municipalities: Castiglione Tinella, Coazzolo, Costigliole d'Asti, Govone, Magliano Alfieri, and Neive. It is one of I Borghi più belli d'Italia ("The most beautiful villages of Italy").

Bruno Giacosa (died 21 January 2018) was an Italian wine producer from the village Neive in the Langhe region (Piemonte), who produced a number of Barbaresco and Barolo wines, as well as bottlings of Arneis, Barbera, Dolcetto and a sparkling wine. Wines produced from owned vineyards are bottled under the label Azienda Agricola Falletto (di Bruno Giacosa), wines from bought grapes or from grapes from leased vineyards under the label Casa Vinicola Bruno Giacosa. In terms of the production of Nebbiolo, Giacosa was considered a traditionalist. He has been described as the "Genius of Neive".

Barbaresco is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Cuneo in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 50 kilometres (31 mi) southeast of Turin and about 60 kilometres (37 mi) northeast of Cuneo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 656 and an area of 7.6 square kilometres (2.9 sq mi). The commune is principally known for its homonymous medieval tower, constructed between the 12th and 14th centuries, and its production of wine bearing the same name. Barbaresco borders the following municipalities: Alba, Castagnito, Guarene, Neive, and Treiso.

Trezzo Tinella is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Cuneo in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 50 kilometres (31 mi) southeast of Turin and about 50 kilometres northeast of Cuneo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 350 and an area of 10.4 square kilometres (4.0 sq mi).The small and affable commune of Trezzo Tinella is located high in the Langa region. It occupies a very large territory situated at different elevations from 304 to 712 metres (997 to 2,336 ft) above sea level. At the centre of the commune is a church and the town hall. There was once a castle, the final tower of the castle collapsed in 1969. There was also a nursery and school which was closed in 1986. Trezzo Tinella has dairy farms, vineyards, hazelnut groves and houses. A number of the buildings date back to Roman Times and the names derive from this era. Trezzo Tinella borders the following municipalities: Alba, Borgomale, Castino, Mango, Neviglie, and Treiso.
